Sadly it didn't make it through the Oscar nominatios for next year... It's already out from the list of 10 pre-nominated shorts. A real pity because that nomination would have help it to be seen by more people to get the nice message and lesson behind it...
Im sorry. i simply smile and shy away from disabled people not because i dont like them but because i dont know how to interact without letting them feel empathized. Im quite sensitive and tend to feel sorry for the disabled but there are some people who doesn't want to be seen that way. What ive learned from this video is that these people dont need our pity, they need opportunity - to be loved and cared like normal people do. ❤️
@Josie Castaneda you're right! But even if it's sounds rude, sometimes it's hard to interact with "disabled" people. I know that they are just different from me or friends of mine, but I have that type of character when I can't talk with people if they're not at the same wave as me. People who are like the boy from this animation have different wision and different ways to talk or interact with others and this is why I can't just be a good friend or a good pal for them. English isn't my first language so I hope you understand my words correctly;;;
Way to many lessons. 1. We must never give up no matter what! 2. It takes just one person to do good and when this happens others will follow suit. 3. When we look down on people just because of their disability we are not making the world better, to know how the really feel, we need only to put ourselves in their shoes and dive into their world, when we are there, we will have a different perspective on the whole world with different privileges. The bottom line is we just need to be nice and have the heart to encourage.

You guys did such a great job animating the hardships and emotions of having this... I don't want to say Disability bc it's not. And the love I see in people's eyes when they meet him and truly get to understand him is amazing. Great job, all of you who participated in making this. Have a great day😄
this movie is absolutely awesome. that's the matter, as you see anyone as a someone , and not as a disabled, or as a mentaly ill, as a colored one ... any barrier can be break , any mount can be crossed . it's a shame about no one think about it or really consider it, this world would then be far much better ...

Some scenarios: • I wonder if they all take turns pushing his wheelchair? Like, would they fight over him? "No Tom it's my turn to push him today!" "But I wanna push him!" You got to push him the other day!" *"IAN!"* • Imagine them hanging up one someone who picks on him. Like a small squad of kids just standing up for him. • Imagine if they were doing something that required them to be standing and Ian had to sit out so they all sat with him and just chatted. • Imagine them all drinking their juice and he dropped his and they just all immediately offer their own or to get him one and they start fighting again like "Ian take my drink." "No take my drink I know apple is your favorite." I'll go get him an apple!" Just... ugh I love this
I just feel like the wire fence represents the wall of difference that's created everywhere between specially abled and ordinary people. In the end, everyone comes together and accepts Ian as one of their own and the wall disappears. Such a strong message! ❤
I’m guessing this is about trying to stick to your dreams..no matter how impossible they may seem Edit: if you can’t come to them, make them come to you.

So many people are crying becuase they are sad for ian, i however am crying becuase I am and was ian... in a way..... I too have a disability and just want people to treat me as a normal human rather then a freak. Here is my advice for all fo you... don’t pitiey those of us that are different, you can’t change the way we are, so instead change your mindset to veiw us as if you could change us. Meaning don’t feel sorry for us, just treat us like you treat everyone else. I have had my disability for my whole life, and I have accepted what I cant do and have learned to focus on what I can do, what I still get sad about is that people don’t see me for the happy, creative, normal girl I am... all they see is my disability. And so the minute people stop veiwing me as different, Most of my problems also stop. If you see someone with a disability, don’t stare even if u think they cant see you (most the time we can) and also don’t avoid eye contact, its just as bad. It’s really quite simple, see us for the human we are and treate us the same. Also, don’t assume we need help, we will ask for it if we need it. Lastly, inform your kids on all of what ive said before these words are lost in another genoration. I know I cant change everyone’s perspective.... but every person helps... and so I BEG you to imform a few people about this..... especially children..... please
I can't believe a poster/ commentor who said they wouldn't have anything in common with the person in a wheelchair. Absolutely ridiculous and infuriating in my opinion. Well I would say they're losing out. Edited to reflect *wouldn't. Not would.

From a cinematographic perspective, the film utilizes a palette that emphasizes darker hues, punctuated by moments of vivid color that draw attention to significant narrative elements. The framing often feels intimate, with close-ups that allow the audience to connect with the characters on a personal level. These visual choices create an atmosphere that is at once familiar and disconcerting, reflecting the protagonist's internal struggle to find their place within the social hierarchy. Sound plays a crucial role in the film, with the decision to minimize or eliminate dialogue underscoring the protagonist's sense of isolation. Ambient sounds and the characters' non-verbal cues become the primary means of communication, effectively conveying emotion and tension without the need for words. This choice enhances the film's ability to tell a story that transcends language barriers, making it universally relatable. The narrative structure is deliberate, with a pace that builds slowly, drawing the viewer into the protagonist's world and the challenges they face. The plot twist towards the end serves as a poignant revelation, redefining the viewer's understanding of the protagonist's journey and the broader social commentary the film is making. Symbolism is woven throughout the film, with objects and visual motifs serving as metaphors for the broader themes at play. The use of recurring symbols, such as specific items that the protagonist interacts with, enriches the narrative and invites viewers to ponder the deeper meanings behind these elements. In conclusion, the short film is a nuanced exploration of the human desire for connection and the fear of exclusion. This animation has a very deep meaning it's just basically accepting who you are even though others may not accept you but will soon learn to accept the fact that you are you
My brother suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Seeing this, just seeing Ian’s hands shake in the animation, I knew, hadn’t read the description, I just immediately thought of how my brothers hands shake and his CP. This is beautiful. Thank you, so much for making this.
I often look at life and think of it on how it is so boring and how nothing exciting ever happens. I would then only notice a lot of the bad things in the world, even some that don't affect me personally. But seeing this helped me realize there is still hope for this world. Thank you.
I love how their clothes and bodies are fragmented and in shards, but their eyes stay smooth and safe. It shows how though you may be harmed on the outside, it doesn't stop what's within.
I love how "bring him back into the fence" didn't work. Bringing him back inside will only be convenient to those inside but extremely difficult for our boy, despite being strong enough himself. Meeting him where he is, outside the fence, by those who are able to, was the better and right way. I absolutely love this. The character design and animation style made sense, adding a depth to story. Thank you for this!
This animation video is truly heartfelt. Just because some people have some differences, we shouldn't let them know and feel that they are different from us. We should see the whole lot of things that are similar to us- like having a heart, a mind; hence, emotions. BTW, the kid is really cute and I almost cried when I saw that this was based on reality.
OMG, this was base on a true store and every time he fell he never gave up and the end is the one that got me when the kid help him ou I was crying so bad I was crying like the person I loved in the world rust died that's how bad I was crying just imagine that was your kid I would be so proud of him for not giving up and trying again would you?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I work with a little girl. She has very little control over her limbs, she cannot talk, or walk or drink water out of a cup without supervision. She is so sweet. And she has made so many improvements. I could ask her if she wants some food and she nods or shakes her head. When people say hi she waves her hands in the air and smiles. She raises her hands if she wants to be picked up, or if she wants attention. She is so cute too like, this girl could be a baby model. The other kids all love her. When we were doing an activity with them, all the kids screamed and cheered and clapped for her. But this made me think of her and I got so emotional.
Well there's at least one child who's nice and cares for him but in my school, there's no one nice and cares for me 😢 *I don't even have close friends or a best friend*

my heart is dead with the level of cute..... I hail the animators and Ian who helped bring this story to light
My brother suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
Seeing this, just seeing Ian’s hands shake in the animation, I knew, hadn’t read the description, I just immediately thought of how my brothers hands shake and his CP.
This is beautiful. Thank you, so much for making this.
I promise I won't cry 😣
the story of spiderman during infinity war...
ok that was harsh I really enjoyed this animation so awesome and ispirational! :)
never gonna give up if everyone gonna give hope. truly loveliest.
I often look at life and think of it on how it is so boring and how nothing exciting ever happens. I would then only notice a lot of the bad things in the world, even some that don't affect me personally. But seeing this helped me realize there is still hope for this world.
Thank you.
This animated film touched my heart ! BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooooo cuteee.......all the children's are in this video are really adorable😍😍😍😘😘😘😍😍😘specially tht purple girl child....💖💖💞💞💝💝❣️
Never give up😉
Simply beautiful ❤️
I love how their clothes and bodies are fragmented and in shards, but their eyes stay smooth and safe. It shows how though you may be harmed on the outside, it doesn't stop what's within.
I love how "bring him back into the fence" didn't work. Bringing him back inside will only be convenient to those inside but extremely difficult for our boy, despite being strong enough himself. Meeting him where he is, outside the fence, by those who are able to, was the better and right way. I absolutely love this. The character design and animation style made sense, adding a depth to story. Thank you for this!
AMAZING! Great animation and great moral! ❤️❤️❤️
Who ever disliked the video meant to push the like button but they were blinded by tears
I love how he wants to get stronger even though he has ALS. It's really good
Incredibly beautiful. Beyond words.
My mind: don't cry please DON'T CRY
*Crying*
I think this movie is really sad and upsetting but it shows you that it's not right to bully people who are disable or can't walk like this boy here
Kid: *literally disintegrating*
Other Kid: lmao haha you suck
Siting here in the dark weeping like a baby. Beautiful.
Thank you...Ian❤💞💕 Stay Blessed!
Hermosa animación. Ahí se puede ver lo importante que es la inclusión. Aún más entre los niños que tienen menos prejuicios que los adultos.
teneis razon
“Based off of a true story”

This video is beautiful it takes a lot for me to cry and I cried 😎
That's so sweet it just melts my heart of all the good things
I work with a little girl. She has very little control over her limbs, she cannot talk, or walk or drink water out of a cup without supervision. She is so sweet. And she has made so many improvements. I could ask her if she wants some food and she nods or shakes her head. When people say hi she waves her hands in the air and smiles. She raises her hands if she wants to be picked up, or if she wants attention. She is so cute too like, this girl could be a baby model. The other kids all love her. When we were doing an activity with them, all the kids screamed and cheered and clapped for her. But this made me think of her and I got so emotional.
And this made me cry. For sadness, for hope, for joy and for love ❤️ go Ian 💕✊🏻
Ahhh when they showed the real little boy at the end!!!!!!!! Damn it onions
Well there's at least one child who's nice and cares for him but in my school, there's no one nice and cares for me 😢 *I don't even have close friends or a best friend*
Oh! I'm really sorry. I don't know you, but I want you to know that I'm sure you're a really nice person, and I hope someone starts caring.
Nobody needs to be nice to you just be nice to your self and go through it with a smile live happy
"There is no one nice who cares for you" YET!..They are on their way. Stay receptive so you will see them.
Thanks guys!
Then try. It’s not like telling UA-cam it’s gonna help you. I hope you make friends!
Really touched the heart nice animation and true story all guys encouraging that physically challenged boy and supporting make him happy that is life 💖💖💖👌🙏👍👋🇮🇳 i Gokul Madurai Tamilnadu India bye bye 👋🇮🇳🇮🇳
That's what i'm talking about, them coming together and helping him Beautiful .
Tears, how beautiful this was.. Thank you for making this.
Al principio se es triste y fea la historia, pero al final es muy linda y te enseña mucho
Cómo qué cosa
they helped him the ending was cute...but imagine in real life?? maybe they still would make him smile but not for too long.''
friends''' come and go like waves
the true one stays like an octapus in your head ..that what this boy needs a true friendship not just empathy
people can stay in the rain but i saw a few persons dancing in heavy rain..that means don't trust who helps you for a while. trust the person who stays with you to every painful momments and good
I am sad for the disabled people It's just unfair for them the kids always laugh at them❤️I t's just unfair for them😩💞🌸
Ive drank water, waited awhile. But this darn lump in my throat just wont go away!!
this made me cry :( its so meaningful its such a cute story and its so nice knowing there are kids who are kind enough to help :')
