  • Rwanda's only integrated cement manufacturer CIMERWA aims to increase production to 600,000t/year in a bid to serve major infrastructure projects in the country and taking regional dominance which in turn has created jobs to local residents.

    This looks like a perfect operation to utilize heat recovery boilers as well as solid-fuel boilers to produce power that could be used by the plant and possibly even have some excess power to sell to the power grid.
    Also, if a spur rail line were to tie into a SGR train line to the ports of Tanzania or Mombasa it would greatly reduce the time and shipping cost to receive their coal and other materials.
    Both these things would make the operation significantly more efficient and profitable.
