the first video was the seeding round to see who people would be going against. The Wildcards decide who makes it into the competition
Just want to point out that he never used the loop station. In the rules you're not allowed to use them. It's just to show his talent that he can do it all. Great video guys!!!

Yall need to watch the full final. His second round of the final he took the other dude's melody and made an entire beat around it to counter. Counters are a huge part of beatboxxing battles. Taking the other dude's sound and doing it better.

There are two rules when battling D-Low.

I thoroughly enjoyed the SBX Kickback Battles. It essentially went from "Battle of the Beatbox" to "Battle of the Beatbox Video". I highly recommend watching them in order. Seeing the little bits of creativity on how the contestants used their surroundings, be it wardrobe, or small comedic pokes/gestures. Truly an incredible event.
Reading some comments before watching and I'm seeing a lot of talk about the loopstation part so here's some context.
The guy D-low was battling (Rythmind) is better known for his loopstation performances. Playin off that, he imitated using a loopstation as a joke prop saying "I'm just a loopeur bro"
D-low ofc claps back with the same energy " But I'm also a looper" and the rest is history ⏳

Wow, you guys have unique set up.
What i love about d low is his structure. Every beat is intentional and makes sense, alot of beatboxers tend to throw random sounds together, he uses music theory
If you look at the GBB Showcases they are mini concerts for some of the well known beat boxers/loopers.
You guys missed the trick with the loop station... he isn't actually looping, he's just pretending.. that's how insane he is

this event went on for months, how it went was, first was the seeding round, 1st to 8th seed, 8 people each had their rounds and then they were ranked. after the rankings, 1 fights 8, 7 fights 2, 6 fights 3 etc.. The fights are pre-recorded, so one guy is the first to make a vid, and then the opponent has a day to deliver his battle round.

There is loopstation battles that you can watch. The loopstation battles for kickback is busy right now
d-low is also the current world champion for beatboxing since 2019 by default considering the situation of the world. should check out his 2019 gbb compilation
The 3rd clip when he is "looping", he isn't, its just him. Also the guy he is facing in the 4th and 5th clip is a guy he battled in 2019 and there are a few callbacks. including the hat that he tosses.

There are many live beatbox competitions, concerts, and what not, however not as of recently because of covid. they are just now only happening again. Expect to see GBB 21 in person!
