Hello from still a fan of Status Quo.Have seen them first time. in Kiel Ostseehalle in Germany 1974 and now 2022 ,65 times around Germany and my conutry Denmark. Still a party every times.
Without doubt the greatest live rock band of all time. Listen to the intro from there live album QUO Live 1976. " Will you welcome the magnificient Status Quo!!!!! "
It is always said dismissively in England that they are a mere 3 chord 12 bar blues band and that anyone can play them - if anyone ever says it you, just hand them a guitar and say 'off you go then' :)
Just a brilliant rock song. One of the best ever intro’s. This band are so solid and together. If any of their songs comes on the radio I defy anybody to not tap they’re foot. Brilliant.
The band got knocked from pillar to post by the music press for playing simple music. I always wondered why no band on the planet ever sounded like SQ and went on to sell and make millions like they did? If it was so easy -huh. The guy's did it the old school way by getting in a van and working their asses off to reach the top and won over a fan base second to none by playing Live from here to Timbuktu. I think most people just want to make it in the music business without putting the hard work in today. I agree you must be dead inside if you don't like the feel-good SQ sound ! It get's me every time.
You're right. . . When people come up with a brilliant but seemingly simple concept, the knockers all say "Well, ANYBODY could do that/ think of that/ compose that/ design that". . . Yeah. . . But *NOBODY DID!!!* . . Did they? ONLY Status Quo came up with these 'simple' songs that NOBODY ELSE COULD. . . . And made a fortune doing it. . Good on them!
I ve followed the quo since I was a teenager in the 70’s,was lucky enough to see them live on numerous occasions, they were by a mile the best band I ve seen live! They were criticised by all the so called experts for having limited talent,oh yeah? Here we are 50 years later and they re still going!! Rick was one of the best rhythm guitarist of his time,Allan was a superb base player with an awesome voice, both never got the recognition they truly deserved. The rest,Francis,John and Andy were nt bad either. Love em or hate em,they stood the test of time and shoved the experts words down their throats, and no matter what else they were good enough to play the opening set of the biggest music event of modern times! Live aid in front of a world audience of millions. God bless you lads. RIP Rick and Allan, you are both sadly missed by all who knew who you were♥️♥️👍
I saw Status Quo live in 1986 at Knebworth in England, they were on in the afternoon before Queen took to the stage for the evening, an amazing day of the most brilliant music played to 120,000, Queens very last live concert.
Seen them many times. People will tell you to look up their performance at Wembley for Live Aid which was good, but on you tube you can see their End Of The Road 84 at Milton Keynes Bowl. Just watch the first 20 minutes and you'll see what Quo were all about. I was at that gig too and the place rocked. Happy viewing people and a very Happy New Year 🎶🎸🎸🎸
4 years on and I'm still rewatching this reaction video. I like to see some more reaction videos with Status Quo even though I requested them in your live streams lol
I am a french fan since ... 1975. I saw them on stage almost 20 times! in France and in Germany. One the the best live band ever! My favourite Quo's records are: "Hello" 1973 - "Blue for you" 1976 - Status quo live! 1977 (one of the best live recordings in rock history in Europe) - "just supposin'" 1980 etc. On stage the sound volume was DEAFENING! In 1981, my ears were ringing during 4 days and 4 nights without sleeping after a Quo show in Strasbourg, France. I was young at the time (20 years old). But today it will be impossible to stand this sound! There were no decibel regulations at the time.
I've watched them from the very beginning but never really noticed who was the lead guitarist it was just their sound, but with Ricks rhythm guitar, well it's more than rhythm, what a drive he give it, fantastic.
Quo was a favourite of mine back in the day , sill love their music. Rocking All Over The World is another great. But there are many more. Some accused them of being formulaic, and using only three chords, and it's true that they didn't change their style much at all, but that's what we loved.. You knew what to expect, what you were getting , good solid rock music you could head band to, :)
The mighty Quo in 1979. A band who continued throughout despite the continual maligns thrown their way about all their songs all sounding the same and that they only knew 3 chords, etc. Something they used later on in their career by entitling their 2007 album 'In Search Of The Fourth Chord.' Rick Parfitt, (he of the blond hair), sadly passed away on Christmas Eve 2016. The band still continues though with a replacement rhythm guitarist and released their latest album in 2019, entitled, 'Backbone.'
Telepathic Telecasters! I can remember learning rhythm guitar at a young age. I was hooked by the Quo and Rick Parfitt with his train track string guage, oh the joy of left hand cramp! The white knuckles from holding down an F barre chord on an eko ranger!
Back in the day when the BBC was run by old people who had no idea what they were seeing.....When they thought they had to make clever camera tricks or the audience would get bored.
you must be american they broke every country in the world but usa they sold 140 million album sales world wide makes them 10 biggest selling act to come to come out of the uk in uk history not bad understatement i see them once milton keynes bowl 52 thousand there the video became fastest selling video in uk history status quo live in germany spent 20 in the top ten in germany multi platinum uk multi platnium as well i like quo love zeppelin and van halen quo were a monster
le meilleur guitariste rythmique du monde...la postérité un jour lui donnerai ses cordes d or qui lui reviennent....Rick...tu es le meilleur... repose en paix dans ce rythme du ciel....
This band has a long career, started in the 60's! There were also some of my favorite bands at some point in my life and a few albums were acquired in the 70's. And I guess I'll see them once then ... Do I remember correctly? Quo is the only band to have made it to the UK Top 20 singles list in five decades.
Totally! I can remember as a 9 year in 1984 old. I travelled with my parents for my first quo concert at the Apollo I can remember that balcony happy days!
Nice review bud...Quo are fantastic.!!..how about Don't Waste My Time...live at Live Aid Wembley stadium... awesome stuff.. along with Queen....best performances at Live Aid ..you done any ZZTOP?
"Staytus Quo" is how it's pronounced. ;¬) Why not try the soothing melodic 'Living on an Island' or 'Mystery Song' with an intro made from a heavy dose of coke slipped into Ricks' tea the night before, according to Francis.
Okay sorry to interrupt this reaction but today at 3pm EST PENTATONIX is dropping a NEW ORIGINAL SONG. ITS WRITTEN ONLY BY KIRSTEN AND LEAD BY HER. ITS A GORGEOUS VIDEO. YOU MAY HAVE IT THERE ALREADY. Sorry for the all caps but I didn't want you to miss it. I know how much you love them.
They recorded an unplugged concert (live & acoustic) on BBC Radio2, playing all their great hits, on acoustic guitars! It was a real highlight in their long long careers!! Check it out on UA-cam! 🎸🎸
A Tip from me.. A reaction video is meant to be "I've never heard this music before". Well, you obviously have, so the reaction can't be A First. That makes YOUR video less interesting to watch....
Welllllllll !! lol i guess i'm dead inside :P :P I love a good drum beat and the more complicated the better, i'm not that into guitars but we all like what we like and i thought what you said was hilarious ! i'm just here to give you the view and like but i actually didn't like this one. too much whiny guitar for me.
Hello from still a fan of Status Quo.Have seen them first time. in Kiel Ostseehalle in Germany 1974 and now 2022 ,65 times around Germany and my conutry Denmark. Still a party every times.
One of the best intros ever.
Saw them for the first time in Glasgow in 1977 and they were absolutely brilliant. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Heading to my 65th year but not leaving QUO behind. Always keeps me alive 🎸
Without doubt the greatest live rock band of all time. Listen to the intro from there live album QUO Live 1976. " Will you welcome the magnificient Status Quo!!!!! "

GOOD, BAND😅❤
RIP Rick Parfitt. Legendary guitarist.
and Alan Lancaster on bass
Ah, my era. Loved these boys! memories, wonderful.
The mighty Quo. Getting on for nearly 200m albums, or so I've read. You will never see them with a backing band. LONG LIVE THE QUO.
The band got knocked from pillar to post by the music press for playing simple music. It get's me every time.
Nobody ever complained about The Ramones playing just the one chord. Quo are the best live band you will ever see.
other fact overlooked, the who, who had international success sold less albums than status quo who never really had any real international success
Ironically the music and musicianship isn't even simple. Far from it in fact.
You're right. . . When people come up with a brilliant but seemingly simple concept, the knockers all say "Well, ANYBODY could do that/ think of that/ compose that/ design that". . .

Saw them about 30 times live - my band since 1980.

I saw status quo on live aid when that ran on tv and watch it periodically since i bought it. Hadn't heard this one. thanks for sharing this.
Telepathic Telecasters! I can remember learning rhythm guitar at a young age. I was hooked by the Quo and Rick Parfitt with his train track string guage, oh the joy of left hand cramp! The white knuckles from holding down an F barre chord on an eko ranger!
Parfitt was a beast!
Back in the day when the BBC was run by old people who had no idea what they were seeing.....When they thought they had to make clever camera tricks or the audience would get bored.

One of their least appreciated rockers is "Rockers Rollin'"
Try Mean Girl....some fantastic solo in it from Mr Rossi....
It's impossible to sit still to Quo
"Staytus Quo" is how it's pronounced. ;¬) Why not try the soothing melodic 'Living on an Island' or 'Mystery Song' with an intro made from a heavy dose of coke slipped into Ricks' tea the night before, according to Francis.

A Tip from me.. A reaction video is meant to be "I've never heard this music before". Well, you obviously have, so the reaction can't be A First.
That makes YOUR video less interesting to watch....
