You're back!! Glad to see you've got more transformers in your collection. Despite my 14.4kV 5KVA pole transformer, I might at some point purchase a 10KVA 2400/4160y 7200/12470y pole transformer. Might be a while though, but I want to get a transformer to replace my shitty MOT stack, no sense in using them for HV when 2 minutes in they are on fire hot.
Variac Maniac I know I haven’t uploaded in a long time, been trying to land a post graduation job and buy a house. The 10 kVA in the dual voltage would be pretty cool. That 2,400 one was quite pricey because of the FR3 oil; however, it is pretty amazing in dielectric properties. I wish I ordered it in that 34.5kV transformer, would have saved a lot of headache. Best regards!
@@metersocket00 You're alright, I've been busy also. Been taking classes for utility technology. Now all college is online, things are more difficult and slower. I just want to be done with these classes that give me 5 page assignments. I also need to get a CDL that's more important to me as well as all my hands on classes. Your 34.5kV transformer had partial discharge issues and I'm guessing the FR3 fluid would have been better. Hope all is well.
Variac Maniac I wish you the greatest luck! It is awesome you’re taking up the electric utility industry. My targeted career is in law enforcement. But that new 34.5 transformer has some harmonics at the base of the bushings, they don’t sound like a coronary discharge. They almost sound like an old school camera flash capacitor whine. It would have been nice to have the piece of mind. But FR3 would probably been out of my price range for that transformer anyway.
@@metersocket00 Thank you sir, I appreciate that!! I wish you the best luck in return! That's weird that it would sound like that, usually HV DC makes that kind of noise. Yeah, I'm sure, that oil does go for a lot per liter that's for sure. Stay safe!!

Love the setup there, its cool to see the step up HV then step down to LV. Love the mot transformer case lol, keep up the good arks and vids.
U should add a little street light with it.
Good to see you back! Cool setup. I've never seen a 500 VA pole transformer before. Was that a custom order?
Matt Deluca My apologies for the long break form YT. But yes they were a custom order, same price as a 5 but only 94LBS.
How much did it cost?
TxMeterBoy J $300+ shipping.
metersocket00 thanks!
How is these things producing energy still
