I have one very close girlfriend and we have the best convos, very deep, interesting and fun (she is the best) but she also prefers the company of men. Friendships with women have done me more harm than good throughout my life. I prefer to stay away. Since I am in a relationship of 12 years I did "drop" all of my guy buds ( we are all still friendly but I would never just go and hang out with them now, since I don't really want my partner meeting other woman.

When I think of it, I do have some guy friends that also feel much more at ease being around women, so I think it may not be that uncommon. In regard to women and their dynamics with one another there is a lot of different stigmas and so much recent cultural introspection that I think, we can tend to view our relationships with one another in a much more complex way nowadays (for better and worse). Still, it is incredibly fascinating how different we all navigate relationships and how our experiences shape how we love and receive said love. I hope this didn’t come off as rude, I just thought your viewpoint was quite rare to hear from. I think everyone should just be friends with whomever they click with and I think that sentiment is pretty much the core of it all to everyone. My ex was my best friend for 5 years before we got together, we knew everything about eachother and she was my first realtionship, i thought that i could trust her but she had this "guy best friend" who she would always hang around with and she would always act so weird with him. She would always pick him over me and it was obvious that she felt more for him even though she kept denying it to me. literal DAYS not even a week after we broke up she got with him. I felt so betrayed especially because she said he knew about me and that we were together. She picked someone she only knew for a few months over our 5 year's we spent together. Hurts more because even after we're over she still has the audacity to deny that she did me wrong/deny that she had feelings for him while we were together. Nobody falls in love with someone that quickly. Im not sure if she ever cheated on me but emotional infidelity was definitely involved. To see this ariana situation now is very strange timing. I don't know how old you are, but I just wanted to share something with you as an aging woman in a relationship for the past 17 years after my first marriage fell apart to him repeatedly cheating (together 10, married for less than 2). Although I was a mother at the time and incredibly worried that I would always be a single mom, I worked on myself and made sure not to just go with the first person that happened to express an interest in me romantically. I worked on the traumas of my childhood to identify why I let it be okay after the 1st time all the way up until the third and final time. Once I did some work through therapy and truly learned to thoroughly enjoy my own company, things fell into place romantically. And even if it didn't, I knew I was gonna be ok regardless. Wishing you the best on your path to healing.

I feel like since ari started out so young and was already on the scene as a teenager, she might've felt a bit estranged from her parents, family or friends. The kind of career she chose is very schedule heavy and she might've not spent as much time with people close to her as someone with an 'ordinary' life would've done as a child. Because of this, she might now be looking for that unconditional love and closure she lacked during childhood, which unfortunately in reality - can't really be replicated by anyone other than perhaps her parents. In addition, because of that busy childhood, she might've been forced to grow up quickly, which in return might result in a lack of real personality. I feel she's kind of a lost soul, she has a strong branding but she might not deep down know who she really is (cause she's never had the time to figure that out) and because of that, she latches onto men quickly who give her a false feeling of identity. Like the men complete her identity since she feels it's incomplete.

i think you’re spot on with the “manifestation” part!! i’ve known a few people who, alongside being into manifestation, can be a bit naïve in relationships, have unrealistic fairytale narratives, and can lean into toxic positivity and delulu mindsets. a relationship is never going to be 100% perfect but during the honeymoon phase they’re kind of in the “pink cloud” and then can’t handle it when it’s hard or they learn that a person isn’t as perfect as they thought they were in the beginning. unfortunately the people i know who are like this have been victim to love bombing quite a few times and have gotten really hurt by manipulative partners :/

I was also an Ariana Grande stan once in the past and I remember the doughnut licking "scandal", her dismissing or coming of as rude to fans (that can be up for debate), multiple stories of her being mean to Disney Parks employees, and also her getting carried by her body guards bc she didn't felt like walking - sum along those lines - and everything was coming all at once; most of the things I listed could come off as misunderstandings but what I am trying to say is that there was a certain point when the media was painting her in a bad light. After a compilation of the mean shit she allegedly did, her whole image changed from wholesome child star becoming a singer to complete diva pop star. I believe what changed her image was the Manchester bombing and the passing of Mac Miller that made the public more sympathetic to her, seeing an A lister as Ariana visiting the Manchester victims at their hospital beds was probably the most heart warming action we witness from a celebrity from that year. Witnessing her mourn for Mac while calling off her engagement was so heartbreaking and I hate using this moment of her life as a "publicity stunt" bc is not, that moment was a genuine tragedy, but it did benefit to her image as it humanize her in a way. Unfortunately for Ariana's PR team, after this scandal everything that came off as diva is resurfacing and Ari is now the center of judgement from the public as everyone is questioning her character. I don't know Ariana personally at all, she is just a musical artist to me, but I would assume from her POV song that she is not the most secure woman. POV is about Ariana's struggle with self love and wishes to see herself the way her partner views her to see what he likes from her. That song is such a banger but now is raising an eyebrow as it may come off that Ari may not be as secure or have the best relationship with herself. You can't love another individual if you don't love yourself fully. You have to be at peace with yourself from being single and explore with yourself while you're not occupied with someone else who is going to steal all your attention; as much as people on this earth can't stand being physically alone, the reality is that no matter who you're with you're still alone and will be alone in the end, which is such a scary but real thought. From Ariana's relationship history, she is almost never single I fucking swear. I am not slutshaming her, shaming someone will NEVER solve shit, but I do believe that she is focusing too much of her energy/attention on another individual to feel "full" and that is not healthy for an individual. Some people genuinely need a break from romantic and/or sexual relationships to focus on themselves to reflect to learn from their actions. So if I ever get to have a personal conversation with Ariana about situations like this ( I obviously never will but be delusional with me for a minute to view the full picture I am trying to paint here), I would advice her to take a HUGE break from dating and just focus on herself and surround herself with people who actually love her for who she truly is. Internet loves a punching bag, a scape goat. i agree with everything everyone is saying and what you shared in this video, but i just gotta say it’s interesting to me how severe the backlash has been for ariana when male entertainers do this every single day with their own families and people don’t bat an eye, they still stream their music, and they almost instantly forget about the horrible things male entertainers and musicians have done in the name of “separating the art from the artist”. this isn’t to negate or defend what a terrible thing ariana has done, but people would not have reacted this way if she had been a man :/

I pretty much agree with most of your points. To be successful in this day and age, you have to be willing to put yourself and your interest first at all times even if it hurts your community. Given that she‘s been in this industry from such a young age and also grew up quiet privileged, it doesn’t surprise me that she approaches life and certain aspects more less selfishly. Nevertheless, I like to think that everyone has some kind of moral compass telling that what is right and what is wrong. Cheating on your own partner, or starting something with someone you know is in a relationship? No matter the situation or the circumstances, that is not okay. This also does not seem to be the first time something like this happened, which makes me question her intentions much more. All in all, we do not know what went down, but I would generally say that Ethan and Ariana are equally at fault. Another point that would be interesting to mention is that we hold our idols to a much higher standard in every way, almost forbidding them to make any mistakes. We see them as those perfect people who can‘t do anything wrong and have a strong moral compass. So every time they fall from grace, fans are much more disappointed or straight up ignore the fact that those things happened.
The reason I’ve chosen to place a heavy amount of blame on Ariana is because she has no idea just how blinding her fame and power is. She has a MASSIVE impact on any man she meets, let alone a not very attractive dude who’s trying to become more famous in Broadway, and has only had one partner his entire life. In his mind, he probably thinks he is OWED a chance to have an escape or experience with another woman that isn’t Lilly. But he could have figured that out years ago, before he married her and before he chose to have a baby with her. It’s pure evil. Ariana only likes him because he is taken with a baby. I’m convinced of this. He loves that leverage, the way it made him look to her. That’s why he was so okay with moving forward. They fed each other in the worst ways possible. I hope they don’t last and I hope Lilly and her baby get everything they ever want in this world. I don’t care if Ariana heals. I only care if Ariana and her baby heal at this point. Ethan is so irrelevant he doesn’t exist.

There's a difference between normal people and celebrities though. 1) celebrities will never "lose their job" over cheating scandals no matter how massive. 2) the celebrities these blow up over are usually HUGE which is why people care, thus they have *more* than enough money to live well. not being paid when you're already wealthy to pursue creative projects really isn't the worst of problems. You can just fund them yourself if you really wanna make it. 3) part of the reason people hold celebrities to a higher standard w these kind of moral things is because the reaction of the public is a reflection of general morals. there's a feeling that if we don't criticize it, we're giving the stamp of approval. Ariana has had MULTIPLE CHANCES to become a "girl's girl." Her first chance could have even been last year with the release of Jenette's book, but no, she actively CHOSE not to speak up. She has never advocated for anything that isn't to her benefit, and I think that says a lot about the kind of person she is and chooses to stay as. She constantly revamps her image and appropriates culture, but will always come out as the sweet little girl character because she's manipulated her supporters to always see her that way. She's literally 30 years old. I don't think we need to protect her character and consider her reasons why. She has definitely considered these things and still chooses to be hurtful. She does not deserve support at this time, she needs to truly work on herself without getting her fans involved.

Yeah, I get the sympathy view of seeing Ariana as an insecure woman who thinks she needs a man to save her like she's in a fairytail, but she's done this since she was a teenager. I have one very close girlfriend and we have the best convos, very deep, interesting and fun (she is the best) but she also prefers the company of men. Friendships with women have done me more harm than good throughout my life. I prefer to stay away. Since I am in a relationship of 12 years I did "drop" all of my guy buds ( we are all still friendly but I would never just go and hang out with them now, since I don't really want my partner meeting other woman.

When I think of it, I do have some guy friends that also feel much more at ease being around women, so I think it may not be that uncommon. In regard to women and their dynamics with one another there is a lot of different stigmas and so much recent cultural introspection that I think, we can tend to view our relationships with one another in a much more complex way nowadays (for better and worse). Still, it is incredibly fascinating how different we all navigate relationships and how our experiences shape how we love and receive said love. I hope this didn’t come off as rude, I just thought your viewpoint was quite rare to hear from. I think everyone should just be friends with whomever they click with and I think that sentiment is pretty much the core of it all to everyone. My ex was my best friend for 5 years before we got together, we knew everything about eachother and she was my first realtionship, i thought that i could trust her but she had this "guy best friend" who she would always hang around with and she would always act so weird with him. She would always pick him over me and it was obvious that she felt more for him even though she kept denying it to me. literal DAYS not even a week after we broke up she got with him. I felt so betrayed especially because she said he knew about me and that we were together. She picked someone she only knew for a few months over our 5 year's we spent together. Hurts more because even after we're over she still has the audacity to deny that she did me wrong/deny that she had feelings for him while we were together. Nobody falls in love with someone that quickly. Im not sure if she ever cheated on me but emotional infidelity was definitely involved. To see this ariana situation now is very strange timing. I dont understand how some ppl think doing that is ok. I hope Ethan's ex wife (forgot her name) is doing ok especially because she has a baby.

I don't know how old you are, but I just wanted to share something with you as an aging woman in a relationship for the past 17 years after my first marriage fell apart to him repeatedly cheating (together 10, married for less than 2). Although I was a mother at the time and incredibly worried that I would always be a single mom, I worked on myself and made sure not to just go with the first person that happened to express an interest in me romantically. I worked on the traumas of my childhood to identify why I let it be okay after the 1st time all the way up until the third and final time. Once I did some work through therapy and truly learned to thoroughly enjoy my own company, things fell into place romantically. And even if it didn't, I knew I was gonna be ok regardless.

Why is anyone surprised? I knew Ariana wasn’t a good person when she alllowed Victoria Justice to get dogged on for years and never properly clearing the air that Victoria didn’t bully her on set. That rumor destroyed Victoria’s music career when fans turned on her thinking she was a diva/bully.
I feel like since ari started out so young and was already on the scene as a teenager, she might've felt a bit estranged from her parents, family or friends. The kind of career she chose is very schedule heavy and she might've not spent as much time with people close to her as someone with an 'ordinary' life would've done as a child. Because of this, she might now be looking for that unconditional love and closure she lacked during childhood, which unfortunately in reality - can't really be replicated by anyone other than perhaps her parents. In addition, because of that busy childhood, she might've been forced to grow up quickly, which in return might result in a lack of real personality. I feel she's kind of a lost soul, she has a strong branding but she might not deep down know who she really is (cause she's never had the time to figure that out) and because of that, she latches onto men quickly who give her a false feeling of identity. Like the men complete her identity since she feels it's incomplete.

i think you’re spot on with the “manifestation” part!! i’ve known a few people who, alongside being into manifestation, can be a bit naïve in relationships, have unrealistic fairytale narratives, and can lean into toxic positivity and delulu mindsets. a relationship is never going to be 100% perfect but during the honeymoon phase they’re kind of in the “pink cloud” and then can’t handle it when it’s hard or they learn that a person isn’t as perfect as they thought they were in the beginning. unfortunately the people i know who are like this have been victim to love bombing quite a few times and have gotten really hurt by manipulative partners :/

Ariana’s abandonment issues are understandable. But at this point that she has done nothing to work on her attachment and abandonment issues so she is just as at fault. She KNEW that baby… she KNOWS the problems that child can have for what Ethan and her did.

I was also an Ariana Grande stan once in the past and I remember the doughnut licking "scandal", her dismissing or coming of as rude to fans (that can be up for debate), multiple stories of her being mean to Disney Parks employees, and also her getting carried by her body guards bc she didn't felt like walking - sum along those lines - and everything was coming all at once; most of the things I listed could come off as misunderstandings but what I am trying to say is that there was a certain point when the media was painting her in a bad light. After a compilation of the mean shit she allegedly did, her whole image changed from wholesome child star becoming a singer to complete diva pop star. I believe what changed her image was the Manchester bombing and the passing of Mac Miller that made the public more sympathetic to her, seeing an A lister as Ariana visiting the Manchester victims at their hospital beds was probably the most heart warming action we witness from a celebrity from that year. Witnessing her mourn for Mac while calling off her engagement was so heartbreaking and I hate using this moment of her life as a "publicity stunt" bc is not, that moment was a genuine tragedy, but it did benefit to her image as it humanize her in a way. Unfortunately for Ariana's PR team, after this scandal everything that came off as diva is resurfacing and Ari is now the center of judgement from the public as everyone is questioning her character.
I don't know Ariana personally at all, she is just a musical artist to me, but I would assume from her POV song that she is not the most secure woman. POV is about Ariana's struggle with self love and wishes to see herself the way her partner views her to see what he likes from her. That song is such a banger but now is raising an eyebrow as it may come off that Ari may not be as secure or have the best relationship with herself. You can't love another individual if you don't love yourself fully. You have to be at peace with yourself from being single and explore with yourself while you're not occupied with someone else who is going to steal all your attention; as much as people on this earth can't stand being physically alone, the reality is that no matter who you're with you're still alone and will be alone in the end, which is such a scary but real thought. From Ariana's relationship history, she is almost never single I fucking swear. I am not slutshaming her, shaming someone will NEVER solve shit, but I do believe that she is focusing too much of her energy/attention on another individual to feel "full" and that is not healthy for an individual. Some people genuinely need a break from romantic and/or sexual relationships to focus on themselves to reflect to learn from their actions. So if I ever get to have a personal conversation with Ariana about situations like this ( I obviously never will but be delusional with me for a minute to view the full picture I am trying to paint here), I would advice her to take a HUGE break from dating and just focus on herself and surround herself with people who actually love her for who she truly is.
This is just a little assumption I made about a celebrity who I never met in my life from listening to their music and what occurred from their life to the public, please don't take it too seriously.

I just want to say one thing about the whole situation. The internet is slowly solidifying this image on Ariana that she’s a “serial homewrecker, and cheater” and I really feel like everyone is turning on her. This will definitely not shattered her whole career but I can see how it can severely damage the public’s perception of her and the parasocial relationship she has built over the years. I pretty much agree with most of your points. To be successful in this day and age, you have to be willing to put yourself and your interest first at all times even if it hurts your community. Given that she‘s been in this industry from such a young age and also grew up quiet privileged, it doesn’t surprise me that she approaches life and certain aspects more less selfishly.
Nevertheless, I like to think that everyone has some kind of moral compass telling that what is right and what is wrong. Cheating on your own partner, or starting something with someone you know is in a relationship? No matter the situation or the circumstances, that is not okay. This also does not seem to be the first time something like this happened, which makes me question her intentions much more.
All in all, we do not know what went down, but I would generally say that Ethan and Ariana are equally at fault.
Another point that would be interesting to mention is that we hold our idols to a much higher standard in every way, almost forbidding them to make any mistakes. We see them as those perfect people who can‘t do anything wrong and have a strong moral compass. So every time they fall from grace, fans are much more disappointed or straight up ignore the fact that those things happened.

The reason I’ve chosen to place a heavy amount of blame on Ariana is because she has no idea just how blinding her fame and power is. She has a MASSIVE impact on any man she meets, let alone a not very attractive dude who’s trying to become more famous in Broadway, and has only had one partner his entire life. In his mind, he probably thinks he is OWED a chance to have an escape or experience with another woman that isn’t Lilly. But he could have figured that out years ago, before he married her and before he chose to have a baby with her. It’s pure evil. Ariana only likes him because he is taken with a baby. I’m convinced of this. He loves that leverage, the way it made him look to her. That’s why he was so okay with moving forward. They fed each other in the worst ways possible. I hope they don’t last and I hope Lilly and her baby get everything they ever want in this world. I don’t care if Ariana heals. I only care if Ariana and her baby heal at this point. something that also got me thinking beyond what you've said is that its insane that people cheating on/with each other is such big news in the first place. i just watched shanspeare's video on mean girls and this is kind of in the same realm of internet outrage, and it's difficult to even wrap my brain around whether this should be something the internet feels like it deserves to comment on endlessly anyway. it's so valid to drag people through the mud for sociopolitical issues, but i can't really think of why it's even justified to have the same level of response to ariana grande homewrecking someone or whatever. i remember when the ned fulmer situation happened and a friend of mine said, "yeah, i think every cheater in the world should lose their jobs for it." the response to ariana's behaviour is kind of in the same spirit, bc that's essentially why we cancel someone. that's difficult for me to reconcile with. and like, this isn't me defending cheaters and/or homewreckers in any way, TRUST ME. i'm just questioning whether this should be a discussion topic at all if ykwim. then again i question myself on if ideally our goal is to build better kinder communities for us to live in then its justified to critique personal actions heavily bc they reflect humanity just as much as sociopolitical actions, + the argument that you proposed is basically proving that all actions are sociopolitical and by that logic ariana being a homewrecker is genuinely sociopolitically problematic. but idk thats just be thinking out loud i dont know the answer to this stuff
I agree with a lot of what you said but Ned wasn't fired for cheating. He was fired for cheating with his subordinate.

There's a difference between normal people and celebrities though. 1) celebrities will never "lose their job" over cheating scandals no matter how massive. 2) the celebrities these blow up over are usually HUGE which is why people care, thus they have *more* than enough money to live well. not being paid when you're already wealthy to pursue creative projects really isn't the worst of problems. You can just fund them yourself if you really wanna make it. 3) part of the reason people hold celebrities to a higher standard w these kind of moral things is because the reaction of the public is a reflection of general morals. there's a feeling that if we don't criticize it, we're giving the stamp of approval. There's a reason celebrities make so much money from sponsorships, and can start trends. They have influence. therefore, if it's cool for a celebrity to cheat why can't you or I ? If they can break up a family why can't I ? Also "canceling" isn't real. james charles, shane dawson, the paul brothers, Jeffree star etc are all doing just fine trust me. Not being adored by as many people/to the same extent is really what most cancellings boil down to. it isn't real. anybody who's been "successfully" cancelled is legit just criminal (re: Onision )
@@ohh771 hey first of all i don't think cancelling is real either haha. i referenced cancel culture for the (proposed) intention of it. and yeah, i agree with the part about influence, that's what i was talking about towards the end of my comment when i said "reflect humanity"! but i do question whether a cheater would need ethan slater's example, or if a 'homewrecker' would need ariana grande's example to go ahead and finally do what they want to. however i do feel like neida mentioned in the video itself that if viewed from a sociopolitical lens, it's probably true that ariana grande has an adverse effect on the concept of community between women, perhaps more than she would have on the frequency of the act of homewrecking, but that's just my opinion.

I’m really disappointed in her for getting into such a messy relationship and I feel terrible for his wife. I couldn’t begin to imagine the trauma this may cause. At the same time I’m a worried about Ariana. She seems like someone who doesn’t handle rejection well and it scares me to think what all this backlash will do tho her mental health. I’m not trying to defend her actions but I hope we can all recognize that she’s a person like the rest of us

Ariana has had MULTIPLE CHANCES to become a "girl's girl." Her first chance could have even been last year with the release of Jenette's book, but no, she actively CHOSE not to speak up. She has never advocated for anything that isn't to her benefit, and I think that says a lot about the kind of person she is and chooses to stay as. She constantly revamps her image and appropriates culture, but will always come out as the sweet little girl character because she's manipulated her supporters to always see her that way.
She's literally 30 years old. I don't think we need to protect her character and consider her reasons why. She has definitely considered these things and still chooses to be hurtful. She does not deserve support at this time, she needs to truly work on herself without getting her fans involved.
