2yrs later and this video helped me. My m.2 was a boot drive and it drove me crazy i couldnt find a way of factpry resetting the drive. Straight to the point got it going. Im saving this video
The most powerful command you have. It will get rid of all of Windows 10 partitions. Be very careful. Make sure you have the correct drive number! Go to file manager, This PC, Manage, Disk Manager, and get the correct disk number for the drive you want to clean.

Not working on my pc
I had to clear a laptop drive because it still had windows on it and it still had all the random partitions. Only way I could find online to clear it was to do it through BIOS, which required me to plug the NVME into my motherboard. Cleared it and was done after messing around for what seemed like 30 min or an hour.
Had to do another one and I stumbled upon this video. Thank you so much! Wish I would've found it sooner.

Incredible video! Simple and easy to follow. I used this video once I was able to get all of the files I wanted off the my hard drive. Fortunately I was just storing some excess files. I did lose some files I couldn't save because windows wouldn't recognize they were there. But they were random word documents or powerpoints slides and stuff like that from college. I got the important college files I really wanted to keep though.

I was worried I couldn't recover it cause I didn't see the drive appear on my list in the Finder. I couldn't find any other video on this, only how to make your hard drive bootable. This helped me so much thank you. After cloning my SSD to a larger size, my new SSD would only allow me to have two partitions on the same drive. The primary boot partition was always full, and the last straw broke today when I couldn't even install a windows update because I only had 100mbs of free space. Although I had to format and reinstall windows, I now have a full 233gb partition to use instead of 110 that constantly needed cleaning. This is a really powerful command!

I screwed up and partitioned up my new 2TB drive and it ended up thinking it only had 400 GB of space.
This fixed that right up.
Easy and simple instructions. Pulled a fairly new hard drive from an old laptop after the laptop died. Now have an additional back up drive. Thanks!!

huge help! thank you, i was struggling and getting stressed out, felt like no one understood what i was talking about... felt like i fell into some alternate timeline with zero tech support when i tried to explain it:
"i cant see the new ssd as disc d or e, but i can see its listed as disc one in windows disc management, so where do i click to reset it and then pick the drive letter i want?"

big ups! I copied an SSD to a larger SSD and had to clean the old one before sale. Turns out the SSD was secured by a bitlocker recovery key that I wasn't able to match.
This allowed the clean of the disk without the bitlocker recovery key.
This is going to help me out so much with wiping my old ssd boot drive in my laptop, Which means I’m able to use that 256gb to it’s full potential. Oh almost forgot, thank you so much for posting such an amazing and short guide that is basically helpful to anyone including me.
Do note that this does NOT delete all data, it just removes all indexes/tables that tell the OS where the data is/was. The data is still on the drive and can be restored with sufficient effort.
so how do I wipe it completely or should I even? I want to start it up as a new m.2 drive
@@jojo4565 research if the manufacturer of your SSD has to tool that lets you erase it securely. or just format and keep using it. really depends on your threat model.

I'm trying to clear a friends ssd because his computer stopped working and I can get it to reset, but it still says it's read only, I even cleared the Read Only attribute through diskpart but that still didn't fix it. This means I can't format it or allocate it since it is Write Protected. Does anyone know how to fix this?

my drive is not listed in disc manager! I see it in event viewer but no go to format.

Thank you so much man, I was experimenting with Kali Linux (first time installing it) and I got some errors and after consulting people in their discord I understood that I better install a new one and I decided to remove the old one and just deleted the partition and then it kinda messed up the disk, maybe it wasn't that bad but I still felt like something was wrong, I couldn't extend it back to its initial capacity and I was looking for a way to restore the disk back to its initial capacity, and I found your video, thanks!!

A couple of weeks ago, I transferred my files to my external ssd storage. I don't know if I did something wrong when doing it. Everything got transferred with no issues when I did it.
My Devices and Drives, in Windows 10, only shows the drive "windows-ssd (c:)"
My Local disk (C:) is missing.
I went to try a restore point and the only drive that shows up is "windows-ssd (c:)
It does not give an option for Local disk (C:) to do the restore point.
If I do the restore point without the Local disk (C:) as the drive, will it mess up my computer?
I have searched the internet to find a fix for this and have not come across this problem anywhere.
If possible, could you please make a step-by-step video on how to fix this?

I thought the the video was to the point. Unfortunately when you rushed through the command after the run prompt. I didn't understand what the command was. Your accent makes it hard to understand and when I tried to read it in the video. It was to small and blurry. Maybe you could add a subtidal on screen for us old guys that don't hear or see that well any more.
Hey, this is a year late but you can turn on subtitles for most videos. On mobile it will be in the top right of the video as a "CC" icon. On computers it will be on the botrom left as a grey/white rectangle (not the hollow one).

I successfully did one ssd but the other says that the clean is not allowed on the disk containing the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation volume.
I’m a noob to this I’m guessing that windows is on that one. It’s a secondhand SSD so I’d like to clean it, but I assume I can’t clean it without removing windows can I?
