- JuJu Beats 1999 is probably the best event held in the forests Los Angeles County. The spirit was amazing, the vibe was spectacular and the people were friendly and lovable. This night was MASSIVE, the talent, the music, the stages, everything was coordinated and planned to perfection. If you have not seen this footage, enjoy. If you have, enjoy it once again and reminisce as to how it used to be.
*Note: Just wanted to say R.I.P. to those kids who passed away that morning after the event.

I’m there with yah…long ago but we will never forget
So many fun parties that year, 1999 had some epic raves: Addicted out by Magic Mountain, Monster Massive at some big ass building downtown LA, and some party at the Alexandria Hotel that got shut down after a few hours so we danced in the parking structure across the street haha. What an era, I'll never forget those days.
I think that Alexandria Party was OZ. Whatever it was, the parking ramp "after party" was epic! Good times.

I was there. Good times. And yes this is where the 5 kids drive off the cliff in the Angeles national forest. And I remember 1 if not 2 people being airlifted out. As the copter was making its ascent the crowd cheered. Oh and my son was conceived that night. Sad that those kids lost their life. It kind of killed the scene that summer. A few races were cancelled or moved.
Thank you for these videos as without cellphones we had nothing to document our fun back then. THIS WAS THE BEST PARTY EVER.
This is one of the best videos out there. From the bus, to the entrance of party with the dark trance then to the main area. I believe DJ Dan was already spinning.

I was there. Awesome event. and yeah I remember the next day getting the horrible news about the kids that went off the cliff. If I remember currectly I got stranded and got a lift back to the san fernando valley in the back of a pick up truck and just laid down in it the whole way back thinking that if we crash im dead! damn, the good old days, but look its about 11 years later and im still on planet earth ! lucky me!

I still have that track on vinyl - I think I was mildly obsessed too 😁 I was at this party too and have vivid memories of various events throughout the night. Pretty crazy evening!

I cant believe how long its been. jesus, not to sound cliche but the scene will never be like this, have this kind of vibe, all this electro stuff today and dubstep, doesnt even compare.

Yeah, this def was the party where the kids drove over the cliff in the morning. This one, and the first one in 1997, were at Snowcrest in the Angeles Forest, and the second one in 98 was at Santa's Village.

That was a great night. The only downside was going to get my car in the morning and it was towed.

Bigger on the mountain in the San Fernando vally I think was my first and got me hooked it was at a paintball shooting place we had to hike up the hill

I remember most of that beautiful night in Perris, CA at that tiny little dirt race track.. I believe I saw MC? that night along with DJ Dan.. The vibe at raves like these back then just can't even be touched anymore..

Yes it was I wish I had some mixes from that night. It was also at snowcrest within a few months of each other I believe. Snow Crest was getting booked a lot at this time period for events, Midnight Sun was here and many others but I think the juju beats event and the bad press kind of killed this venue

Me too. Partying all night long go to get my car with my friends and it was towed and then had to wait another hour to get it out of impound.

@musiqqqqqq Five high school kids drove off a cliff and died on there way back home the morning after this,and their toxocology screen came back positive for various substances. And that was the end of throwing parties at this area, and the beginning of much law enforcement and media scrutiny , propaganda and hype. What a shame.
You guys are mistaking this jujubeats for the one that was a year before. The kids flew off the cliff at jujubeats 98 @ santa's village, this video is jujubeats 99 in irvine.

Killed the scene that summer? The scene was already dying a death, this event just put the nail in the coffin really. The state and law enforcement were just looking to ban these events, after years of incidents like the deaths at a Moontribe party & Dune a few years previous. Those are just the ones that were really publicised in the media as well. I remember being at the first one in 1997 at this same location, and as we left, some girl freaking on acid fell off the cliff above the road.
