I also cried when listening to Smiley by Yena, the song was just so.. I don't know how to explain it. It was full of positive vibes. And when she winked, it made me smile. The fact that I was having a bad day when the song dropped too made it better

This kind of music is what got me into k-pop, and I believe it is why most of the k-pop fans love this genre. I discovered it in 2018, just trying something new and was this quirky style with quirky visuals that made me fall in love.
Red Velvet really paved a way but sad they are underrated among the big 3 girl groups because they ignored talent :(((( how you forgetting F(x) all of their song are kpoppiest. the entire album of Pink tape, Red light, 4 walls, La cha ta, danger, electric shock, nuabo and etc. Miss A too 😭😭 they are the definition of view doesnt matter because their song are so classic but masterpiece

Russian roulette single headedly got me into kpop, when I tried to shazam some random video game soundtrack, it somehow brought up russian roulette by red velvet instead. That was literally the first kpop song I heard after gangnam style and dynamite. It left such a good impression that it led me down the rabbit hole of listening to red velvet and then being obsessed with kpop.
