Bought the fx pro and alpha base after returning the thrustmaster Ferrari dd bundle .... There is no comparison . Build quality. Software. Functionality. Customizability. All 10 out of 10 with a software backbone that continues to evolve. The price for all this still blows me away.
This wheel was a game changer for me. I am going to be using it nonestop no matter what its bevause fo the 4 rotary encoders.its perfect i change tc1 and tc2 also abs 1 and bb on the fly! Im one who actually utilizes it and those are my 4 most important functions and ive used a bunch of wheels none are as easy to use while driving as this. The 4 and positions are perfection. It helps the wheel feels incredible also. Also probably my favorite shifter paddles yet. Perfect sound and volume and depth and super super positive feel. Great conbinations with the ultimate. If you have the ultimate this wheel is a must imo lol. The paddles man yall listen to me no paddles feel and sound as good as these. They have this depth and pop but without being to loud. Beautiful Listen ive used alot of wheels like alot. This ine is in top3 of all time for me for pure use and feel. Accesibility and ease of use is awesome also. Im sry you dont need simhub with this wheel.
I’m considering selling my fanatec dd1 and changing to the alpha and this wheel. The dimensions of the wheel are perfect for GT racing and formula style. I find the fanatec f1 wheel to be too small for my liking.
Tested this wheel and it really was great. Only deal breaker is that they don't have compatibility with simhub. And the dashboard options are very limited and have some issues reading telemetry accurately, which kinda defeats the purpose of having a screen on the wheel.
@@player1simgear I’d rather have one standard dashboard that works perfectly for every car like the lovely dashboard. I hate having to learn new dashboard everytime I switch cars.
Bro when I saw the wheel in the video I immediately thought it probably costs like 1.5k or so. But the price for this wheel is really good in my opinion
Yeah across the board all the simagic gear is so well priced for the quality. It's up there with the super pricey gear in terms of build quality without the price tag!
@@olli_brb07 Great package, you won't regret it! Check out the Simagic pedals for sure too - but also take a look at the VNM ones, they are great too! (We have a review on them dropping in a couple of weeks)
They pointed out multiple times to content creators that simhub compatibility is quite difficult, and it was not a design choice to not make it compatible. They also recently asked in the Discord whether or not people think the effort would be worth it, and they were overwhelmed by the response of the community. So I believe Simhub will definitely be compatible in the future, it's something they were never actively against, and I'm sure by now they also started working very hard on it. According to them it does take time, but they will take that time and will give us that feature in the future. A lot of telemtry things are in the same vein, since obviously simhub compatibility will close up a lot of shortcomings in terms of what the wheel is able to recognize from the game. So I think this wheel is in the works of becoming a full 10/10 wheel with nothing to wish for left. Literally the only thing I can think of that is a bit of a bummer is the fact there's only 1 funky switch. These switches are really great, and especially when one is used for the display, having a second one for simultaneous use in the game would be really nice. Whether that's for camera mappings or in-game MFD or something like that, it would just be really nice.
I made my own DDU dashboard with a arduino board in less then 4 hours. It's not hard at all, simhub is a completely open platform. They don't wanna do simhub compatibility because they spent so much money on a patent for their wireless comunication protocol and they would have to ditch that to use Simhub.
Not sure if this was asked before but with the new maglink that is now available, does that mean this wheel can now work with other third party dd bases: i.e. mounted to a Moza base? Has anybody tested this?
It doesn't seem like the rev lights match up on the F1 game. Is there a way to match up the rev lights with the game rev lights and store it as a profile?
@@player1simgear did some tests, i love this wheelbase + FX Pro wheel It looks and feels absolutely amazing. I'm not familiar with that screen, for some reason it shows a different position ( my position- Assetto Corsa ) It looks like is not syncing properly or something like that I start 6th from 10 players and for some reason ( i remained last, testing only) it shows still 6th position Do I need to select another dashboard ??? I wish I could see the nr of player and laps. My position from x players and lap nr x from the total laps Is that possible ? Thank you
What do i do with the dash if i play iracing f1 and wanna have the led to light up when in drs zone, and see my ers battery charge? Is that not possible then, when there is no simhub
ERS is currently not shown but the new dashboards coming soon will fix that. Also no way to see LED's light up when in DRS zone yet, but hopefully that will be added soon also.
They are essentially another customisable button. Really good I find for views (look behind in F1) but u could also use them to say trigger voice comms etc. You'll be surprised how natural they feel once u start to use them. I was.

Awesome comment - I couldn't agree more. That should be the tag-line for Simagic! :-)

There are more telemetry screen options on the way! I agree though, Simhub integration would be a great addition.

Great review mate. You've made me want to upgrade again. The software looks very mature and awesome
Cheers mate, yeah it's a really intuitive software package. And improving with every iteration.
Awesome review, would love to see fanatec release an F1/GT style wheel with a display soon!
You and me both!, Cheers Asm for the feedback mate!

Which one do you find is better : steering with screen or steering with separate screen ?
Haven’t checked if this has been asked by someone else or if you’ve mentioned it, but what do you personally have those index finger paddles bound to?

is the FX Pro wheel too heavy for the Alpha Mini wheelbase??
No not at all, it works great with all the Alpha bases.

Not this wheel, the GT Neo will though.
Not a bad wheel at all , i own one. BUT very little of the game telemetry works with race room so ill be selling mine
Great wheel and would purchase if it was simhub compatible
It should be I agree! Hopefully thats on their roadmap.
Why does the wheel remind mind of the CubeControls wheel, CSX3
Both great wheels, the cube controls one has a very love it or hate it futuristic vibe to it i think.

does the screen and leds turns off, when Windows is shutting down?
No you need to switch the base off using the switch on the cable.

What's the purpose of the top two little paddles? I can't see the use of them and would be keen to know if you could remove them easily.

Could you use this wheel with Simucube?
Ofc. u can use the wheel with a USB
@@kimtornqvist182 No you can't, it's not a usb-wheel, it only works with Simagic
The telemetry needs the simagic sofware and a simagic wheel base to work.
What is it compatible to?
Unfortunately just for the Simagic ecosystem, great wheel
