But not only was it Double Points... there were also some great promos and crazy discounts that I couldn't say no to.

40% off both of those big sets I would think is a great move. I still have my 1989 batman sets in box, and they have both gone up in value since retirement, so I would say keep them as investments. Depending on the theme is what I do with retired lego, I have sealed.
Yep, brilliant move. I picked both sets up as well; I couldn't pass. These two sets are my first two really Big Starwars UCS set. It wouldn't have happened without such a great discount, and promotion.
I definitely think it was a smart move because of getting the GWPs. The Republic Gunship should go up in value because of the exclusive minifigures.

I unfortunately have a lot of delay in the videos but as they are nice, it goes by itself.
Unfortunately, one thing that bothers me a lot is the fact of buying sets only to get the GWP.
But what are you going to do with 5, 6, 15 GWP when some won’t be able to? Lego should limit the purchase to only 1 account or one mailing address.

If you can afford the sets as an invest for later selling ... yes that was a good move. Last week here was the ucs xwing at 40% but in my case, i would hurt myself. Yet, im regreting not getting it.
Even if you're only selling those UCS sets in a year for retail, you're still making a profit off of your investment. I would expect these to rise in value well above MSRP in that amount of time though, so I consider it a good decision, especially at that discount.
Given how long they were on sale for I think it’s a smart move. We don’t get them at that cost in the UK so they are a bargain 😂
Really Argos/Amazon has had them at £15 for the new Ashoka ones and snow troopers at £12.50

I meant the two big UCS sets. Those were on a great deal in Canada and US
Few people can afford the large sets when released or even when on sale, so to buy them as investments with the intention of selling them later for more means there are even fewer people that can afford them. If you're going to invest I would have thought mid-price sets would be the way to go, they are affordable so when out of stock there will still be lots of people that can pay that little bit extra for them.
Those UCS sets scare me - I’m not that much of a fan to commit the cost for myself, but I agree the investment upside could be huge.
Just a heads-up that Vaughn has a different torso so some of those 332nd clones are mismatched.

I given up on building armies in lego. I have 28mm minatures that I need to build and I have a good number of a gunpla.

I thought the GWPs are usually just one per household? Or is that only in the USA?. How are you able to get multiple of the Scary Pirate Island?
Make multiple online orders that reach the threshold.
It's only a smart move if you're not carrying a credit card balance (compounding interest) on them (or on other things because of them).

A good way to post. Your business is give one away each month. To your members on UA-cam. Started at the first of the month saying I'm gonna get this way at the end of the month to anyone that subscribed likes and comments on this post, you must be a subscriber, I think it will boost your subscribers may be double. I don't see anywhere else doing something like this.
Anytime there’s a double insider points event is a good move to buy a lot of Lego.
Well lets see it like this, for buying at 30% off something that you didnt need you spend 70% of money. And if you wouldn’t have bought them, you will save 100% of that money. So for me. It is a No.

In UK the ucs falcon is always on sale and there are a couple of stores that get the UCS sets in for sale, other than Lego stores that have discounts. People will buy them but they are already at a high price point for people to purchase so i would not really see them going too high over rrp. In my opinion if you had a considerable amount of money to put into investment pieces then i would of bought smaller sets and more of them like the black smith or police station which should be easier and quicker to sell and still make the same kind of money if you buying more of them. Plus you would get more GWPs. These ucs sets would be an amazing deal for people that didn't already have them. I guess it comes down to where you are going to sell them and if you need pay seller fees or not plus shipping.

Unpopular opinion probably here, but I don't like Lego Star Wars. I like Star Wars itself, as an IP, but when it comes to Lego Star Wars; I never saw the appeal of the theme within Lego.
Anyway, as an investment... As long as it was bought with disposable income, it should be fine. You'll just need patience.
No clone army is complete without 6 Captain Vaughns. 🙄

If you really, really, really, really, really, really want/need those sets and you get them much cheaper (than the original retail price), then it's a smart move.

There will always be a demand for LEGO, especially Star Wars. Any unopened LEGO will increase in re-sale a few years later. You made a wise investment for the future, for the channel, and made it an outro for a video, don't doubt it! Love your work
As long as you're "investing" for lego just for fun it's fine.
But even if these go up to $5000 each in 10 years, it's still a terrible investment since over 10 years you only make $9000 bucks. Compare that to traditional investing and it's just abysmal.
Do not "invest" in lego if you aren't already investing 15% of your income for retirement.
It's not a 10 year hold. It's a short-term flip within my company.
Im not an investor so or anything but I feel like turning $1000 into $10,000 in 10 years is a great return right?

Bricksie is doing this more for fun and because this is his business and how he makes a living so it makes more sense for him to do it. And in the short term he might make a grand or 2. Which still isn't amazing but again this is just a small part of his business/job.
@@HunteroftheNorth You need to check your math, 10% per year doesn't make 10k out of 1k. In any case Making 10k out of 1k is an amazing return on any time frame, that's a 1000% gain. That generally only happens in super risky stuff like crypto. Lego investing can obviously be fun on the side if you're into Lego anyway but yeah it won't make you rich especially since a lot of people are doing the same now, but I think Bricksie gets that.

The lego item limits reset over a period of time. It's quite random and not precise how long you have to wait in-between orders
It's not actually 40% off, it's 37%. Because the discount of the last 10% VIP points applies on top of the 30%, so it's 0.9 * 0.7 = 0.63 (which is 37%).
+ GWPs which I sell, I bought them using my own affiliate links, and I use a cash back credit card... what is the % now? Lol

I cannot believe that you are paying full price for the battle packs. They are £13 in the UK and I have been buying them with shop vouchers making them £10 a set.

Wow. I got the Halloween VIP pack earlier this month with the ball maze set. Then I didn't get one with my Pirate Island! I got it by finally ordering Lion Knights' Castle. Then you're able to do 3 diff orders, get 3 of those VIP packs, for less than I paid to get just 1 pirate island! And I love those fence pieces in the VIP pack, and those spider webs are cool, too.
I know its a little wild of an idea, but you could, for like a 500k subscriber special, do a giveaway with one of the UCS sets, but I completely respect the decision to keep them as investments.

the Razorcrest I ordered came in the original Lego packer so it was perfect, not sure why they don't ship in the original packer in CA.
I been buying the battle packs by the dozen from Target. They have had them on sale for the past few months. Also did the Razercrest and Gunship.

I work in a supermarket in the UK, I went a bit overboard the other month because all the 501st battle packs and Ashoka clones were on offer. Usually they’re about £18 normally but were like £13 then I had 15% staff discount. Also have loyalty card with them so I had like £30 worth of vouchers on top. I got loads of them and saved a fortune 👌👍

People will pay stupid money for misprints, especially Star Wars ones...just something to keep in mind in case you ever decide to sell it.
We are going to see many sets discounted. Lego pushed prices to far and so many people investing. Your going to have to hold on for many years
How did you get the gwps separately orders but to the same address…wouldn’t they have been cancelled due to it all going to the same home address 1 per household?
i went a bit crazy and soent 3k buying from lego in 7 different orders( to get the gwp everytime) and also bough new sets locally

Do a MOC of the Gunship by using the parts from your inventory and from the set itself.
That's alot of money for those 2 sets regardless, so it'll really hit your account, hahaha, but I hope they sell well for you in the future!

I think you beat me slightly Bricksie on orders. :) I went crazy and placed 6 orders including grabbing that Razor crest while it was on sale. Bought several Modulars and a bunch of Disney Star Wars sets that were retiring. Love your clone army. Makes me jealous.
Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter 10327 will be coming, so allow future spending for that. Many Dune followers. Mike Psiaki, Lego designer did a reveal youtube video. Insane how many lego sets are coming up in the future, makes it hard to decide how to best invest your funds. Spending on the Past, Present & Future. 10327 To be released Feb. 1, 2024. I've cut back on Lego buying. Where do I put all these sets once they are built? They are taking over my space. So for now, I'm on pause. And if I do buy a set, I really give it some thought. There are always sales, and will be in the future too.

Smart move for sure. I’d imagine that not too many LEGO investors would have the capital to fork out the big bucks for the massive UCS sets or the space to store them.
