Maybe Metal Sonic is giving Amy a false promise to bring back her parents on the condition she lead Sonic and company into a death trap. If that's so, Metal Sonic will also double cross her. When Robotnik proclaims victory, Metal Sonic will betray him becoming sentient to kickstart the Age of Metal. At that, on their end maybe Amy will be sorry for getting Sonic and his friends into trouble and in case they die, Amy confesses her love for Sonic when... Shadow, Rouge and Omega arrive to save them. Shadow: "You don't have to be thankful. I only saved you as a means to put aside our differences for now, Sonic."
I mean, it was basically already confirmed since I remember one of the producers of sonic three mentioning that sonic’s biggest challenge in the fourth movie will be girls and that he’s growing up
I say this to be on the safe side to avoid spoilers, I haven't seen the "Sonic 3" movie yet. Anyway the fourth Sonic movie could go beyond planet Earth with new and fantastic settings, the writers of "Sonic 4" hint at the possibility that the settings of the new Sonic movie can go to explore new planets or at least leave planet Earth.

The answer is: Yes, I want Sonic and Amy to become a couple🥰😁🤞, but maybe it could become official over the course of several movies, only for the sake of warming the fans up to the idea of them becoming a couple. While there are a lot of Sonamy fans out there, there's also a lot of people who don't like the ship, or would prefer Sonic to remain single and/or ship Sonic with other characters. While I believe that the movie writers are open to the ship becoming official, I think it's safest to test the waters so they can feel confident enough that enough fans want this ship to officially set sail. I hope for lots of ship-teasing between these two. 😁🥰🤞
