Two things.... do not clean nickel or chrome plated guns (or anything) in the ultrasonic... it will remove nickel. also if you don't want to contaminate your entire tank every time... get large glass containers and put whatever cleaner you want in them and then put them in the tank The waves will go right through the glass.
No longer have a black powder revolver 😢😢 tried to disassemble it a part fell in a whole gun no longer works I think I'm done with them spent some nice money on it no more 😢
Hi i have a pietta that was a gift from a passed family member i shot it once and didnt clean it good enough and its siezed badly atf-acetone didnt help cleaned it decently but not good enough i could probably make one of those electric cleaning things at work as im a mechanic and have lots of jumppacks and batteries . I dont know anyone in my area with an ultrasonic cleaner sadly
I just got one this weekend and used simple green and it made my gun rust immediately and looked 10 years old. I was pretty upset but admittedly i used my lease favorite gun. I used 1:10 ratio
It would be convenient to have a water source near this ultrasound, since eight gallons of water weights almost 70 lbs. But I don't in my case. Carrying it full of hot water would be out of the question. Lots of trips between the kitchen sink and garage to fill this beast up. It will be interesting to see how long this one will last. I have gone through about 3 of these economy ultrasounds already. But at this price point might as well give it a try.
Looks like the 30 liter Vevor I just got to replace my 5 year old 15 liter cleaner that needs a repair. Great investment for cleaning firearms, shell casings, and motorcycle & car parts.
Running my second ultrasonic cleaning right now. I haven't heard of the tin foil test, but hopefully it will pull the fouling off the parts im cleaning; it didn't do so well the first time, so i added a lot more cleaner to it. We'll see.

I always wanted one big enough to put a rifle barrel in it, but they get pretty pricey when they get that large. Very cool ultrasonic cleaner Dustin!
That thing is big, and appears to be a great cleaner!
Looks like you could cook a lot of chicken in that!

Had to ask a question off topic was there a 44 Magnum equivalent of that back in the West 😊😊
I used to refurbish older bicycles as a hobby and used an ultrasonic cleaner, once you go ultrasonic you never go back.
Now that is very interesting , I had never thought of that. Many thanks.
Would a cap and ball revolver benefit from using J-B Bore Compound to polish the bore? Maybe improve accuracy and lessen fouling?
Wow! That thing is a hoss!😮
Interesting testing using the aluminum foil. Sure does eat that up.
Thanks for the information. 👍

Do you put the gun parts on the wire mesh basket? Does it scratch the gun?
Wow!! Great purchase, Dustin!!!
Good video Dustin, I will try the tin-foil test.

How hot was the water? If it’s too warm, you’ll get surface rust as soon as the parts come out. When that happens though, it’s easy to get it off.
I need this!
Dustin have you ever used ballistol along with the water to clean your guns as a rust preventative
Not as a wash solution, but I put it on the parts after they come out of the machine and get dried.
Holy cats that's big! I've been a jeweler for 30 yrs and use one every day. Never had one that big tho lol. Sure gonna make life easier for ya!

How much for your old one?
I’m actually keeping it around for the times when I just need to clean one handgun.
Was/is it a 6L Vevor?
How does bluing hold up under that?
Very well. I use Dawn dish soap and warm water as the solution and I haven’t had any trouble with bluing.
You just need tap water, or distilled?
I normally just use tap water.
that ia amazing sir what brand is the unit
Creworks.
Id like to see a demonstration of the new machine. Thanks.
Money well spent 👍☕️☕️✌️
I’m sold 👍 good test
