Airplane engine noise isn't too exciting from the cockpit. Just a constant drone. Cool from the ground when you get that doppler effect but pretty annoying from the cabin.
Congratulations on your purchase, sorry to hear also about the demise of G-UFOX. Anyway, blue skies and look forward to following your adventures with the new bird.
Doing a partial restore. I bought it in pieces, so I'm putting it back together and replacing anything that needs it along that way. My plan is to get it flying before spring and fly it thru the season. Then if I like everything I'll slowly start upgrading everything. I would love to eventually start competing in stol competitions, but that will be quite a ways down the road. 🙂
If everything goes right this weekend, I may actually get it running for the first time 😁 I still have a ways before she's flying, but it's coming step by step 😜
@@RobHolmes8 iiiiiiinnnnterestoing! I am building a double Quonset building but I am pondering doin like a cotton, painters, drop clothes over a metal door frame. I plan to build front door like a drawbridge. Will then drive plane over door. That’s initial plan anyways. Why is that the way? Cause it’s cheap and part of the kit? Why not more permanent? Building codes or rules?
@@the-not-bigkuhrbowsky4869 I think it's a combination of all of that, planning rules, cost, and they do come as kits, or companies come and build them in a few days: aircraft-hangars.co.uk/aircraft-hangar-range/ But with all that said, there are still plenty of typical hangars that are permanent buildings at larger airfields. But the smaller airfields and farm strips seem to go this route. I do know of a few "drawbridge" style doors like you're thinking of too, where the planes roll over the door to enter/exit. Good luck with your hangar build!
Thanks mgas1237, sorry to hear you had a couple of failures. These blades have about 50 hours from new, but I'll bear that in mind and check my options in the future 👍
Thanks Shane 🙌 It's going ok so far, I've only ever flown with 912's so far, so I'm learning! 😁 I usually do 75mph/65kt, but you can use more fuel and cruise at ~85mph/74kt
Thanks Leith! 🙌 I'm not 100% sure as they came with it, I believe they're some kind of mower/atv tyres, but possibly "Deli Tire S-366". There was a good post in the Kitfox UK group in December facebook.com/groups/305209230873831/posts/756507065744043/
Very nice plane! I’m curious to know the age and just how much the plane cost? There seems to be great variance along w/price increases during the pandemic
Have been around lots of 582's, here in the States, but I've never owned one. Had several 503's. Personally? I'd find another engine for your Fox. The 582 can be fraught with problems - cold seizures, and the like. The 64hp is nice, but I'd opt for something different. The 503 has been used in the Kitox - however, I think the 503 and 582 are out of production. (582 in late 2021), No question I'd opt for a 503 in place of a 582 - way less problematic. The 503's are really bulletproof. Out of the box - mount it on the airplane and go flying. :-) Oh, what was that circular throttle manipulation for? Seems that would be distracting at a difficult part of the flight. Thanks.
503s are now not easy to get hold of in the UK, and underpowered for two-up flying. I have one in my Thruster TST, and it's fine, but I'd have a 582 in a heartbeat (as was then later fitted to the Thruster T300)
The 582 is a brilliant 2stroke. It's owners who cause the problems! I had a Kitfox Mk2 and did 1400 trouble-free hours in it before selling it because wanted to go further and faster. The wooden GSC props are absolutely fine if looked after.
I think most of us would rather hear the engine/plane noise instead of background music. Excellent landing man.
Thanks Huckleberry! 🙌 That's fair, I'll bear it in mind for the next one, thanks for the feedback 👍

Great little stol machine
Congratulations 🎊, Will watch your journey with interest.
Thanks Rishi 🙌
Cool video, i love the big tyres. It must be good for landing on bumps and rough ground. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Roger! 🙌 They do soak up the rough ground quite nicely 👍

Amazing thank you for following! 🙌 It is a shame to lose the Eurofox, but I'm looking forward to sharing lots of fun with the Kitfox!
my boy please try get some STOL tyres and do some bush flying. would love to see. Mucho love
Wow! So beautiful bird, congratulations!
The Kit Fox is a great handling aircraft. Thanks for the ride.
Thanks for watching 🙌
@@RobHolmes8 - Cheers and good flying
Could I be rude and ask what you paid for it? Thanks for sharing. She is a beauty !!
It is great. Also my dream. Maybe one day. 👏👏👏
Thank you! Keep reaching for that dream 🙌
Nice Bird, good video.
Thanks Donald! 🙌
Swap in a rotax 912uls 🤤🤤☺️☺️👍🏼👍🏻
Good bird, great pilot, good buy, great fun. The Techno music lost me. LOL!
Thank you, glad you like it! 🙌 sorry about the music choice 😁
I fly a very similar set up in Canada. Looks like your wing tank is in operation. Do you use it?
I use the wing tank if I'm flying longer distances where I need more range, but most of my flights don't need it 👍
Awesome Rob! it looks like you're really enjoying the kitfox.
Thanks Ben! 🙌 Now we really must get some formation flying going soon! 😉
@@RobHolmes8 The year has just begun!
Looks great
Congratz! More vids please ;)
Thanks JuroFOX! 🙌 there's more in the editing suite already and coming soon! 😁
Heck yeah! That's a nice bird! I have a model 1 I'm working on right now
Thanks Brady! 🙌 Are you restoring it? If so, how far along are you? Hope you get it flying soon 😎

Thank you! It's been a great project! Cannot wait to fly it! 😁
Hi Rob which plane would you rather the kitfox or the Eurofox
If you were to give me a Eurofox I wouldn't complain... But there is something about the Kitfox! I just love it!
@@RobHolmes8 Hi Rob thanks for your reply👍
Awesome video, can’t wait to own one as well!!
Thanks Will! 🙌 Hope you find one soon! 👍
Fabric doors on most of your hangars?
Yes it's quite common in the UK for that design of a tubular frame with a heavy plastic covering including the doors. My new hangar is all metal 😁👍

I've been behind two of those props that failed in flight. They have a pretty short service life based on hours and time in service. Look into it.
