My father owns MG Astor and we have already done 5000km+ on it. I would like to list pros and cons over here:- Pros:- 1. Engine is very good. We went from Gujrat to Bihar by this vehicle. Speed was mostly 120kmph on highway. It never got heated up. 2. Paint quality is also nice. Black color. 3. It is super comfortable car. We didn't got tire at all in 26hours journey. 4. Our model is Sharp(O)/Saavy 1.3L Turbo variant. It is very much refined for a 3 cylinder engine, pick up is very good. 5. Interior and quality of whole car is superb. And build quality feels good and car is spacious too. 6. Mileage was initially bad like 7kmpl. But now after 2nd service, we are getting 12kmpl in city and 15-16kmpl on highway. 7. Headlight throw is impressive. 8. Car have a lot of practical bits like each front door pockets can take upto 2 litres of water bottle. Overall 8-10 litre bottles can be included. 9. At high speed car feels confident and steering is good too. 10. There are 5 USB ports in car. 2 rear and 3 front. 3rd one is behind IRVM. 11. Tyres and brakes are great. Continental Utra Contact 6 makes braking good. Cons 1. Rear seat passenger doesn't have a separate cabin light. So in night it gave rear passenger problem. Car could have got more interior lights. 2. Sunshade of sunroof is thin. So, it heats up car. 3. Mg ismart drive sometimes work and sometimes not like internet tracking doesn't work at all even at places with network. Smart key works all time. 4. If this car would have had hybrid system then I guess it would have been better. 5. Auto Dimming IRVM would have been good too. 6. Boot space if could have been deeper like loading lip was adjustable then you can put big 3 vertically. Otherwise it's okay. I have not tested ADAS that much. But while overtaking close the collision warning system otherwise it will start auto braking. Overall if someone wants car like some what both of the world like little bit spirited driving and features with safety. Take this car's turbo varient. Worth it.

Want to choose between sonnet automatic top variant. And MG Astor Sharp MT. Please suggest Motoroctane.. Features and Safety is priority. Only city driving.
We got our 1.3 Turbo AT Sharp (O), Aurora Silver by Diwali. Graduating from Honda City S AT (2013) is a huge upgrade in pick up, low NVH, excellent drive quality, cushy suspension, strong build, great interior quality, fit, finish…only miss the beige interior and boot which felt spacious in the previous sedan. ADAS 2 works as promised in city and highway. Fuel efficiency is based on enthusiastic drive preference. In city, relaxed drive based on traffic conditions can yield between 8 to 11.5km/lit fuel efficiency per trip. LED headlamp unit from SAIC is awesome with bright white illumination. AI bot is kind of dumb at the moment and hope it gets smarter with software upgrades and ML. It unexpectedly interrupts conversations and is annoying. Music system is kind of basic without a sub woofer. 360deg camera sometimes isn’t great in poor lighting conditions. Automatic Gearbox car was my main requirement due to trouble free performance and was met by this car as it uses an imported 6 speed AISIN gearbox from Japan. Air conditioning is powerful with PM 2.5 HEPA and is the real deal! Most importantly we bought 5 year Classic Maintenance and additional 2 year Warranty (3 year company+2 year purchase). Service and response from MG West, Mumbai is superb beyond my expectation coming from service experience from Solitaire Honda, Mumbai. Extremely happy with purchase so far (niggle in remote control is being addressed by MG India IT team). Go for it if you cannot wait for a Creta and wont be disappointed (except for Bose music system, ventilated seats, wireless charging and auto dimming mirrors).
Remote function on iSMART unable to connect with the car. MG West and MG India worked thrice on the software system, downloading logs, remote Admin re set but the issue has persisted. Issue seems to be that the car’s electronic module abruptly goes into sleep mode much before the default 48 hours, once engine has been shut down. Another soft issue seems to be mechanical in nature and a gear slippage like noise emanates from the bonnet when the car is in motion either when engaging break or the accelerator. Have noticed the noise once in a while even on Adaptive Cruise Control mode. MG West commented that the issue is not related to the gearbox after log scanning but suspect its related to automatic engagement of ADAS (emergency breaking) while on manual controls.

It was curious that you did not mention a single other motoring company/manufacturer in this video. Bhai, a potential buyer for sirf Astor ke variants ke beech mei confusion nai hota, there is confusion between different companies also. Why didn't you mention other makers in the same price range like Creta/Seltos/Kushaq/Taigun? How does VFM factor in? This should have been definitely present in your Maha-SUV Comparison a few days back, or did MG decline? ;) Or maybe, Taigun/Kushaq declined :D :D The Taigun customer service executive was noticeably insecure when talking about Astor. Nevertheless, thanks for the in-depth video on Astor 1.5 :)
Hey Aravind MG didn’t have a vehicle to support with for the comparison. Also, it’s a standalone video - not a comparison video so we didn’t mention any other brands in it. It’s a complete test of the Astor only. For us - the buyer has to win - so always more the merrier in a comparo
This is not for those u need only and only better mileage I am Astor style onwer which is base model and it has everything which I need good ground clearance roomy light leatherette interior with 12 inch infotainment touch screen more than 350 litre of bootspace and very big amount of inner space for frount and rear passengers
Astor has a 360 camera, but do get the blind spot monitoring once turn indicators are applied. Similar to what you get in seltos. I know Astor has an blind spot indicator on it orvms. But do we get the camera pop-up?

I have decided a budget of 15 Lakh and started looking for compact SUV. Kia Sonet was my choice untill unless I get inside a Astor. Everything is attracting inside Astor. Sonet top end and Astor - I'm stuck between this two. Need help from you people here. Sonet is 1 litre turbo IMT. And Astor is 1.5 NA ( read some negative reviews about Manual 1.5 NA. Slow pickup is what the myth is. On road price of sonet is 15L & onroad price of Astor manual top end is 17L. What should I do ? If anyone know about both car. Can you let me know. I love aesthetics and feel about the car and i drive only in city. So IMT helps in sonet and it's compact to drive around city and its cute. But Astor attracts in other ways (Panaromic, leather premium interiors, extra comfort because of extra 1 feet length) Which side should i lean on ? help me decide on the car with your opinions!

Hey Aravind
MG didn’t have a vehicle to support with for the comparison. Also, it’s a standalone video - not a comparison video so we didn’t mention any other brands in it. It’s a complete test of the Astor only. For us - the buyer has to win - so always more the merrier in a comparo
Which one we should consider Tata harrier or xuv 700
Harrier for highway and bad road ,xuv for city and limited ride
I have already, best car in segment
Is there any cluch issue I heard it. Few them told. For replacing clutch will cost 85k. Is it true
I am planning to buy 1.5 MT. I took test dribut I felt little bit under powered in second and third
But I liked it's comfort which is awesome.
Hamare pass creta hai mujhe dono car bahut acchi lagti hai

Astor has a 360 camera, but do get the blind spot monitoring once turn indicators are applied. Similar to what you get in seltos. I know Astor has an blind spot indicator on it orvms. But do we get the camera pop-up?
Yes it shows 360 view on music system screen
Yes I agree, but I need to know if the blind view camera pops up when the turn indicators are applied?

Great Review Rachit & Team -- was waiting since a while for this.... how does this compare to the other competition of the SUV Maha comparison done few days ago...Creta/Seltos/Kushaq/Taigun ? ... specially from the petrol manual transmission perspective
Very close to being best VFM
Can you please compare Astor Style with Nexon ZXI+ and Sonet iMT? All comes in similar price range then why should people not buy astor compare to nexon or sonet?
Yes I am also confused with same thing……but i booked Nexon as astor waiting time is 9 months atleast…..
I am confused between astor super and nexon xz+( Not considering style because of colour options and waiting period).
How is the new MG ASTOR?
front grill is superb
On road black colour achha lagta hai ya silver?
Hey Rachit, thank you for this review, was waiting for this, can you please compare Astor with Creta ND Seltos also.
THE car is too good. I think go and this mg car
Hey Rachit, loved your review. However, I have one doubt with its sunshade. Is it thick enough to repeal heat?
No its very flimsy....and seive like...your car is likely to be superhot in summers...like a green house...
@@DDTipsy it has a relfective coating on the sunroof which relfects a lot of heat.. So no it doesnt get super hot i have kept the car out in the sun for hours and sat in and if felt like any other normal car.. The advantage of the sieve like shade it that it lets the ideal amount of sunlight in and makes the car feel more roomy
@@ujjwalsingh9111 what about summers in Delhi...
@@DDTipsy that is yet to be seen.. Waiting for the summers.. However I have parked it out in direct afternoon sun and it felt OK.. The film on the sunroof is the saviors.. Creta doesnt get that on its sunroof.. Harrier gets it

Dear team,
Kindly compare Mahindra Marazo vs XUV 700
Nexon or Astor
This car is so good. But what mileage is so less? Any possibility their mileage will improve in future?
But Astor attracts in other ways (Panaromic, leather premium interiors, extra comfort because of extra 1 feet length)
Which side should i lean on ?
help me decide on the car with your opinions!
Astor mene bhi dekhi hai astor
Sir mujhe lgta hai apko vlogging karni chahiye
Apko shot karega. Or apki voice bhi a6i hai.
Bro, kindly tell mileage of Astor MT (manual)... Both in city and on highway. If you have tested it extensively contrary to what you were saying in the video
