You have a lovely flat! I don't think I'll ever understand why German rentals don't include the kitchen: it's just one of those things that works best customised to the property. We're about to move to a new rental (in the UK) and this will be the first place we've had that doesn't have a fridge-freezer. It also doesn't have a washing machine, so I need to retrieve mine from my parents' garage (I needed it for a previous place, but not the current one). It's stressful enough organising all of that (and everything else associated with moving) for when we move in without having to buy a whole new kitchen on top! Even when you buy here, it would be very unusual for a property to not have a kitchen, unless it say needed renovating. Sometimes people will redo the kitchen or update the appliances when they buy somewhere, but only if it's an old kitchen and they have enough money to do so.

Same!! Uyen and German Bf/Fiancee is like the couple you wish were your friends. They make the world seem like there's truly still genuine people around 🥲
The bathroom heater are intended to take towels laying across them, but for most modern full body towels they are to small. Over the years the towels have grown quite in size
This was actually one of my favorite things about Germany! I loved the warm towels in winter! I wish I had room for one here, but my bathroom is so small. I miss those heaters. Lol
We have these kinds of rads in Canada too! My in-laws in Montreal have one in their bathroom. I don’t know how common they are, but they definitely exist.

What a lovely apartment! I rarely see more 'normal' apartments where people live in more permanently, mostly people moving out for the first time, or the apartment is very very expensive and fancy. Your place looks so nice, very organised!
I love how shes juat wearing a robe and not dressed like shes going to the oscars with full makeup and airbrushing..okay an exageration but seriously...youtubers are starting to feel less and less like average people and more like...celebrities and movie stars..becoming less and less relatable. So this channel is SUCH breath of fresh air! Shes in her home and wearing casual clothes one would wear while being at home! Relatable!❤
It’s so sweet how y’all have made space for each others interests! Whenever my house is clean I always FaceTime my Italian grandma to show her cause she never believes me so I totally understand wanting to film now or never! 😂We would love a German boyfriend voiceover video or even channel where he could talk about his fossils and stick bugs! He seems so proud of his collections!
Such a beautiful home. The German Boyfriend has a nicely arranged museum. You’re right the gallery pieces are a great way to show various pieces and switch in or out for color or season changes. It was a very enjoyable tour.
First when entering his room i said to myself "omg what a nerd... let's skip this part". But then it turned out to be my favourite one! All these details, so cute, and it shows how gentle and thoughtful of a character he is. ❤
Thank you for sharing your space with us. As always, concise, informative, adorable, and with your fiancé's voice, quite relaxing. You sharing a bit of yourselves with us is a privilege I do not take lightly, so thank you for that. Your videos are always educating and entertaining, and you are both a truly special couple and a bright spot on the internet. Thank you and enjoy your new place! Many blessings and good fortune to you both as you begin this next phase on your journey together.💖
I love the artwork on your walls, happy and sunny like your nature! I wasn't expecting to find German Boyfriend's room to be so well organised. You both have a beautiful home together. Hope you will enjoy eating your veggies soon.
I love boyfriends room and the couch table! You can immediately tell how much he loves every little piece in there. And also, great gallery wall! So much fun to look at! Thanks for the tour.
This is just an endless sprint of "goddamn that's a good idea." I need that rice dispenser now lol. The extending coffee table is genius. It's also all so neat and modern without seeming sterile or harsh, which is a hard balance to strike! (And him growing Asian vegetables for you is so cute omg)
The thing with the cloth drying outside is new to me, some places have a cellar room for it (washing machines are also often in the cellar) where you hang them alternatively many places which have an enclosed backyard (multiple houses often share one) have infrastructure to dry it outside, but all the little details heavily depends on where in germany you live and the age of the apartment building, older ones are more likely to have such shared accomodations
There is NOWHERE a rule or law, that you are not allowed to hang your cloth outside. Only the house rules can regulate that. Other residents should not be bothered and you may not make any changes to the facade, e.g. attach lines. However, nobody can forbid you to put a drying rack on the balcony, as long as no water drips on your neighbours.
Maybe it’s regulation in her town only. Not in other towns. My fiancé sometimes hangs the drying rack out on the balcony, but normally he likes to keep it in the room. Normally it takes half a day to dry up all when the humidity is 50-60%
My guess is that this is a regional thing. In the Area I live in wich is rural, there are Wäschespinnen in almost every Backyard. I rent this Apartment and even me and my upstairs Neighbor have a Wäschespinne that we share.
Your apartment is fantastic. Looks very clean and neat. Harmonious and balanced, not too empty not too much. Every piece of furniture has a purpose and blends in the room. The dimensions in general and for each room is again enough, not too small, not too big. I would love to live in a similar apartment.
I feel like both of you would be so much fun to chat with, and your home looks very pleasant. I wish I had that level of organization. I saw the terrariums and display shelves and immediately thought that I would like to know more about what's going on there. I'm horribly allergic to Guinea pigs, but I absolutely adore them. The sounds they make bring my heart joy.
Thank you for the room tour. Even for me as a German it’s quite interesting to see how others furnish their apartment. It did irritate me, however, that your kitchen had neither a sink nor a stove. But as the internet just told me, only in Berlin there is a mandatory minimum kitchen equipment with cooking facilities and a sink. An open wardrobe is normal in Germany 😉.
This Is some real content, I love it. The openness and the realness of you two is amazing, you two just being yourself is entertaining and fun to watch. That's the first youtube video I watch of you in my oppinion its really well made. ✨
IKEA is like kinder surprise for grown ups 😁 my first apartment was 90% furnished by IKEA. They have nice, cheap options for young people moving out on their own. With time, I’ve replaced the IKEA stuff with more sturdy, expensive stuff. But some IKEA pieces remain.
I'm French living in Saigon then Da Nang now for 6 years, in couple for 4 years with a Saigoner. Your videos help a lot understanding each other more and solving little issues here and there. It's also a good preview to what his life and mine would be if we ever leave Viet Nam xD Thanks a lot ❤
Thank you for sharing your apartment. It looks like a cosy welcoming place where people genuinely live. I appreciate how you enjoy pointing out the differences between your two cultures without making it competitive or critical rather only ever a little joking manner. If the world was as open and positive about embracing and acceptance our differences it would be a much better place. You two also have a wonderful vibe that appears to follow the same premise of loving, respecting and accepting each other, quirks and all - so much better than the carefully constructed yet usually fake image of perfection we often see on social media.
The IKEA shoe cabinet is a game changer. One of the best things I have ever bought for my entry way. I only have space for one, so I'm super envious of how many shoe cabinets and extra storage space you have! Looks great!
I’m not sure exactly when, or why, UA-cam thought I needed to be introduced you (and German boyfriend), but I’m very happy for the introduction. I would also like to mention how lucky I feel that such an enjoyable content creator chose to make content in English when it’s obvious that she speaks at least two other languages. Because, like many of my fellow Americans, I really only know English (and a teeny tiny pinch of Spanish that I can remember from class over 40 years ago). I really do enjoy hearing the variation in pronunciations as your native languages bring new dimension to words I am familiar with.
It blows my mind that folks are expected to build their own kitchen in an rental apt. ! How do you hook up the plumbing? I guess you'd have to have a plumber for that. Then you have to move all of the appliances and cabinets when you leave? Wow. Her in the U.S. everything is pretty much in the apartment that you would need except a washer and dryer and you take nothing when you leave. If your fridge or stove breaks, the landlord has to replace it or if you buy one that you want to keep, I guess you let the landlord know and you take that with you when you leave. Good job on the Ikea furniture! Maybe I'll try out a nice piece of cabinetry some day.
I’ve learned so much about Vietnamese and German culture by watching your videos, which are both fun and educational 😍🥰 Besides I absolutely adore you and your relationship with a German boyfriend! You are a 💎! Sending love from Russia ❤

I love that apartment tour. I've heard about the kitchens. In German apartments not having any. My mom just turned 80 a few days ago. She is from Germany. I love all the built-ins they were so cool. You guys did a good job fixing up the place. Even though the boyfriend said he's curious to see how the veggies grow. I know he did that just for you and that was the sweetest thing ever. Any man that would try to grow Asian vegetables for you that has never done it before is perfect. Lol I was not feeling good last night and for some reason I must have texted my husband at work. Telling him that I was craving some pancakes or a big breakfast from McDonald's and he surprised me this morning. Damn it. He made me cry. Sometimes guys will do the nicest things for you
The number of times I have heard news stories from the US where a stray bullet went through the outer and inner walls of a house and killed someone just makes me appreciate the thick brick walls of German houses so much (and noise protection too like you mentioned). Such a well organized and well thought through home you have created. :) Also, very nice terrariums and fossils collection.
@@jerryberry9917 We don't have to worry about stray bullets in most places, either. The states vary quite a bit. Our country is almost as big and diverse as all of Europe.
@@stephjovis3469 Listen, our country has major flaws and it's worsened in the last 10 years (and legions of Americans are very clear eyed on this, get it, and work ardently against it). Huge numbers of us are horrified by what happens by guns. But the chance of bullets flying through the wall or windows in incredibly remote in all but the worst areas--it's just that it's covered in the media and it makes it seem more likely. Try picking a state with decent safety gun laws. The US is almost as big (population and size) as Europe and extremely diverse You can't even keep a handgun in your home my (reasonably major, well known) city. The contrast between the architectural, streamlined simplicity of most of your flat and German boyfriend's multiple use room has striking variety and gemütlichkeit. It made me realise that both parts are in my spirit. Will there be an outdoor space where the Oriental vegetables can grow when the weather is warmer, or will they be able to continue growing inside?
I love how cute you guys are together, and that you both have space for your own interests! (And I know it's been said before, but German boyfriend needs to get into doing audio book voice overseas! His voice is so soothing!)
I just LOVED some of the cards and posters on your walls. Notably: "Your Butt Napkins, My Lady" in the Bathroom, "No Eating after 8!" in the Dining, and "Heartstopper Hi" poster above the couch. These just give a vibe of your place. So fun, comfy and cozy!!
I like your apartment very much - the style is great! It all looks so cosy and "at home" to me! I love your way of filming but promise that you NEVER let your job make you sad or uncomfortable. You always are so natural, sympathic and authentic and not a single moment of fake - I adore that!

I just found your UA-cam! I really love watching your videos and your experiences in Germany. Your love for each other is so wonderful! You support his hobby and he gets a whole room for that. And he your hobbies and you get to have your food every where🥰. I lived in Korea and I have been visiting in Thailand and india, so I know how much space it take to have all the good ingredients. And so hard to find the good vegetables! I was over the moon the other day when I found perilla leaf/shiso in the Asien store, I been searching for it for like 9 years, in every Asian store i been at! I was thinking, I guess I have to wait til I go back to Korea to eat it or til i have a garden and I can grow it my self. But one day going to my Asien store there they were, fresh in the fridge, like I won the lottery! . And like you my boyfriend support me with all the draws full of Asian food 😊 I haven't been in Vietnam yet, but I hope I will go there the next months, when we will go backpacking in march. I love your gallery wall! It's so hard to commit to a giant piece of artwork!A gallery wall is so much more flexible and fun. And wow, those terrariums, it's like a mini museum in there!
I had a table like that in Hamburg. Back then they called it a cocktail table. I love your apt. I had a 1 bedroom apt on Griesstrasse in Hamburg. The entryway was tiny, but kitchen was very large, had a nice bathroom with all tile oversized shower, commode and small sink. I had a huge cabinet under wall to wall window in kitchen. I had orchids, African violets and lilies. Small livingroom and a small bedroom with full size bed. I did have a balcony. only big enough for my chaise lounge. I loved living there- it was one of the best times of my life. I see you are starting many seeds ... Can you show us your outdoor space?? Room for plants? Can you have meals outside? ❤
A little correction: There are a lot of different kind of heaters in Germany. And it is definitely not forbidden to dry laundry outside in the garden or on the balcony in all of Germany. Especially no if you own the place you are living at. Some apartment houses even have a drying room. The only thing that is not being done, at least in decent neighborhoods, is outdoors laundry dying on Sundays.
I love the looks of your apartment. It's simple yet very neat &cozy. Your BF room also shows how passionate he is with his interests, and the fact that he's growing asian vegetables for you *chef's kiss* ❤❤❤
Great space! You have really settled in and made it home and I am so happy for you both. The way you support each other by doing things and by what you say to and about each other is just lovely. I wish you both continued happiness together.
@8:30 - I feel ya. I've learned to do electrical work, build a deck, pour cement, lay floors, fix plumbing, etc. Am I proud of myself for learning these skills? Heck yeah, but would I rather pay someone else to do it all. Also, heck yeah. However, it's cheaper to learn it yourself. On another note, I'd never move if I lived in Germany. Building everything is one thing, but having to dismantle everything to rebuild it in the next house would be exhausting. I completely understand why my house came w/ a giant armoire in the back room. If I ever move. It stays behind.

Uyen, I adore your perkiness and sense of humor. This is the second of your videos that I watched, the first being the tour of your parents’ house in Vietnam. I can’t say that one is better than the other because they are both so different. The crazy thing about the German apartment is having to completely furnish the kitchen then remove everything when you leave. I wonder what is the rationale for this odd practice. I applaud you for learning to assemble the Ikea furniture. Although I have many tools, I can’t seem to get the knack of putting together the Ikea furniture.

You have such a lovely home. I love your gallery wall. You did such a great job of decorating your home - you've inspired me a bit to see what I can do to my Canadian apartment. I love German Boyfriend's room the most. I'm off to shop for a rice dispenser and a middle earth mouse pad!!!!
I'm lookin at that paper towel, tin foil, and plastic wrap dispenser myself
When he showed the seedlings he is growing for you, and when he talked about the stuffed "guinea pig" you bought him, my heart melted. You guys are wonderful! Xoxo
Just love this young lady! Must of cost a fortune to put cabinets and appliances in
She is so matter of fact and such a happy gal! And did nice job overall decorating yet you know it’s lived in ! Love the flowerpots !
The animals in fish tanks how fun!
You take them with you when you move or sell them.
I cannot decide who is cuter!!! Uyen in the bed just chatting or German BF with his slash slash slash room growing Asian herbs for Uyen "bc she misses them"
Thank you for such an in depth tour!! You guys are awesome
THE PLUSHIE UYEN GOT HER BOYFRIEND HAS ME IN TEARS 😭YOU GUYS ARE WAY TOO CUTE
Does anyone zoom in on the picture in the left corner where they wrote “distance means so little when someone means so much” with the Vietnam and German drawing? It’s the cutest thing I’ve seen! 🥹
I love how much planning and preparation went into your apartment. There’s a place and space for everyone and everything.
What do you mean by thaaaat?! 😂
@@german.boyfriend Yeah. I suspect that maybe she doesn't know any Germans. Organization is usually hard-wired into their DNA.😆
@@german.boyfriend ich feier deinen Accountnamen 🤣👍
I love boyfriends room and the couch table! You can immediately tell how much he loves every little piece in there. And also, great gallery wall! So much fun to look at! Thanks for the tour.
What a wonderful living space! I love that you nurture each other’s interests. ❤️
I absolutely love how precious and caring about eachother they are ❤😭🥹
The thing with the cloth drying outside is new to me, some places have a cellar room for it (washing machines are also often in the cellar) where you hang them alternatively many places which have an enclosed backyard (multiple houses often share one) have infrastructure to dry it outside, but all the little details heavily depends on where in germany you live and the age of the apartment building, older ones are more likely to have such shared accomodations
Its definetly a thing in more central areas & older districts to keep the outer appearance of the building/street "clean".
@@Frohds14 for us it’s actually in the Mietvertrag 😊
The biggest flex is doing an apartment tour in a bathrobe. Huge power move.
PS: I like how you pronounce “Euro” the german way: eu-ro / not the english way: u-ro 😊
German boyfriend! Thank you for continuing to brave being seen/heard on UA-cam. We love you!!! Thank you for the tour Uyen!
I'm French living in Saigon then Da Nang now for 6 years, in couple for 4 years with a Saigoner. Your videos help a lot understanding each other more and solving little issues here and there. It's also a good preview to what his life and mine would be if we ever leave Viet Nam xD
Thanks a lot ❤
You are my spirit animal!! I love how honest you are , thank you for taking us on your journey through Germany !!
I’ve learned so much about Vietnamese and German culture by watching your videos, which are both fun and educational 😍🥰 Besides I absolutely adore you and your relationship with a German boyfriend! You are a 💎!
Sending love from Russia ❤
I need someone like Uyen's fiance in my life. Also, I need an Uyen in my life. I'm just sad, and its so cute to see them do so much for and with each other. All the best guys!
Sometimes guys will do the nicest things for you
GERMAN BOYFRIEND ROOM LOOKS INSANE...... literally my heaven
We don't even have to worry about stray bullets in the first place :)
also people don´t tend to shoot in their apartments, that`s very helpful. You just confirmed once again why I never ever want to travel to the US
@@jerryberry9917 We don't have to worry about stray bullets in most places, either.
We all hate what happens in these places but you aren't going to get shot up in my state or any of the states near me and in many areas of the country. I guess it's your loss.
@@Laura-kl7viThe US is in no way as diverse as Europe. Like it’s not even close. The US is just one country in contrast to Europe which consists of 45 countries with vastly different cultures and systems of governemnt. There are around 740 million people in Europe including several indigenous cultures totalling to over 200 languages.
You to are just adorable and are very blessed! I would have loved to see more of the fossils and "German Boyfriend/Fiance's" plants! We lived in Germany and loved it. We are now retired to Portugal.
Your apartment is lovely and wonderful, every space is great. And you could be proud that you built most of the furniture yourself. It's very interesting how you have to build a kitchen completely! Thank you for sharing with us. Waving hello from New York City!
She is so down to earth and a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for sharing your apartment with us! I love every video you put out. You are legend!
You guys are so lovely and wholesome and it gives my brain so much serotonin 🥺❤
So fun, comfy and cozy!!
german bf's room is my favorite! so many treasures!!!
omg my jaw literally dropped when your boyfriend opened his room. It's literally so cool in there!
I love how clean all the cabinets look and how everything is put away just perfectly
Thank you for the tour, and how cute that he's trying to grow those vegetables for you. I hope his efforts get rewarded!
See you are good at mixing colors, look at your galary wall. I love it
I like your apartment very much - the style is great! It all looks so cosy and "at home" to me! I love your way of filming but promise that you NEVER let your job make you sad or uncomfortable. You always are so natural, sympathic and authentic and not a single moment of fake - I adore that!
I am so jealous of German Boyfriend! He has such a cool room, and those fossils are so cool!
I love all of his fossils. Would watch a video of him just going though those. Thanks for the look into your apartment. Looks like a cozy place.
Wow, eure Wohnung ist so schön. Vielen Dank für die Tour 🤗 am besten gefielen mir die Terrarien und ihre Bewohner 😅.. freu mich auf noch ganz viele Videos von euch 😊
I don't know so much about the food culture in Vietnam, so I can't wait to visit! but I'm madly in love with pho😍
What is the Vietnam food dishes that your boyfriend like?
i loooove your home
I love your gallery wall! It's so hard to commit to a giant piece of artwork!A gallery wall is so much more flexible and fun. And wow, those terrariums, it's like a mini museum in there!
Very beautiful, warm, cozy home. I love it guys. Enjoy it. Be happy! Love from Greece. ❤️
You have such a sweet abd funny personality. I have had a good time following your story and any subject you cover.
Oh my god! You people just feel my heart with joy. Such nice wholesome people you are. Much love from Italy.
Wonderful apartment tour! You have wonderful charisma on screen!
Your art wall looks great! And I agree on having a dryer: we couldn't live without one (even though there are only two of us too). How thoughtful of GBF to grow veggies for you!
idk how people go without dryer. I have pets and tons of blankets
Du bist so eine wunderbare authentische und liebe Person. Danke für Dich😘 liebe Grüße, Denise.
Yall have a beautiful, cozy apartment! I LOVE German BF's fossil collection. That whole wall with all the tanks is really cool! Thank you for sharing with us a little sneak peek. ❤
Thank you both! I love your apartment.
This is so cute! I love how much your apartment feels like a warm and comfortable home. I definitely need those shoe racks and that coffee table! They're genius. Thanks for sharing with us!
