At the end, how did you select between the HF and the Rumbler? I saw you turned it to PA and then there was another setting to enable the rumbler. I couldn't tell what you did there.
It’s not terribly complicated, so long as you have the correct mic to replace with. My unit came with the mic cord already cut, but do cut it short if you haven’t already. There is a plastic clip on the front of the siren where the cord comes through that secures it in place; carefully pop that clip out to release what is left of the mic cord. You will see four small wires that connect to pins inside the siren. Gently remove the clasp from the pin. Either take a photo or remember which color went where to save time when you replace it with the new one. Reattach the plastic clasp, and you should have a working mic again.
So how DOES a rumbler work, exactly? I initially thought it was just a low pitched pre-programmed tone set for the Federal Signal products, but evidentally it works with more than just FS stuff
The rumbler converts a signal to a low frequency pitch. It works exactly like a subwoofer system. Turn it on and your music has extreme low frequency; turn it off and your music is back to normal. Same with siren tones in this case. It works with any siren system not just FS. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you need a better explication!
Ah so that's what that deeper siren is called. So what up with the rumbeler anyways? Like where did the idea for it come from? I think something like 2016 was the first time I've ever heard them. Can the rumbeler be used alone?
Cameron McGarel This is different than the Alpha. The primary tones are the same, but the Alpha has more tones to choose from, as well as a different front face plate.
allintodrumsandguns the alpha has a hi lo and hyper yelp (USA only as far is I know) as well as the ones in the video. The alpha is sold with customisable tone selections in the uk. You can either have hi lo or rumbler.
Ive compared this to other demos of the HFS and this one appears to be higher pitched than the rest. Is there anything you did to the siren to make it different? Okay I checked again and it seems to sound more like a Whelen Alpha than a 295. If this is something you did, its awesome.
Probably sounds higher pitch because this is a 200 watt siren and he's using (2)100w speakers when most people only use one on their demos. I have a 100w 295hf100 and the siren tones sound exactly the same minus the rumbler obviously.
Be nice if it could paralyze rude people who don't give the right of way to emergency vehicles....they are too busy on there rotten phones to realize there surroundings!!!!!............hate those phones!!??
I love the high pitched tones of this siren
One of the best siren demos i've seen (and ive watched a lot!) Combining it with the Rumbler is quite interesting.
RascarDK Thank you for the positive feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

They ONLY move out of the way with "RUMBLER". Everyone in Westchester County, NY FAILS to yield to EMERGENCY Vehicles!
Bob Mason ur not right The NYPD has the best and good rumbler sirens
@Gary Wood This man came in here and put the facts down

Nice, the LFB uses this siren.
London Fire Brigade actually use the Whelen 12R (very very similar if not exactly the same tones)
Is the rumbler for sale ?

For rumbler do you have to have the speakers? I’ve seen the amp thing sold separately but I was curious
Yes speakers are required. It will work with one, but two is best for optimal performance.

Depends what yah get? A finex hammer (prolly spelled it wrong always do) it has its own tones most rumblers don’t tbough

Firemedic here. I'm honestly not a fan of the rumblers, they're overhyped.. Dual sirens have a much better result for us.
I just like the feel of the rumbler, but I do agree that dual sirens would pull traffic over quicker.
With my local department, they have dual, and rumbler, and our animal control uses CHP siren w/ rumbler, dont know why
Princess Lemmy Do you mean dual tone sirens?
@@nathanielhardynatha7837 or dual speaker?

itchyboy I personally haven’t altered it in any way, but I’m not the first owner, so it’s possible a predecessor may have, but for me no.
Oh, its second hand. Totally missed that, I thought you bought it brand new off that other UA-camr.
Well, whatever was done to it, it sounds awesome.
itchyboy Yes, I bought it from him used. I would be short on cash if I only purchased new equipment.
