Am I the only one that rewatches this but still gets anxiety every time there is a decision is the boys go through or not even tho I know they do. It’s like I’m rewatching it all over again for the first time

At this age, Harry was already very articulate. You can really see that he's very smart. Simon saw it too.
Oh yeah, Harry has always been pretty outspoken and has always been incredibly charming from the very beginning here. He hasn't ever really changed. He may have got a little quieter, which was kind of to be expected, but not much. He's always been full of life. The only thing that's different between 2010 Harry and 2018 Harry is his fashion sense. And even that isn't that much different. A little more bright in color and style, but his style now really does fit his personality. Anyway, it was obvious to people that bothered to pay attention, even back then, that Harry has that X factor quality that this show looks for, even more than any of the other contestants including his fellow 1D members. People just cannot help being drawn to him. Simon's a very smart man. He knew this and he used it. Harry is a born star. Simon would have had to be blind not to see that and take advantage of what he found.

A S I think that Harry is how he is now thanks to the evolution he have in the group, people fell in love of the chemistry between all of them , so being in the band was great for him as an artist.

Personally I think the guys had a great sound right from this first audition by Simon's pool.... It was a pure sound without fancy lights, sound effects, chorus singers, pyrotechnics, music synthesizer or autotune.... They were more impressive to me RIGHT HERE in their pure voices with no frills, than at any time later...

His mic was turned off you can clearly see he’s mouthing the words and you can’t hear his voice at all , possibly because he didn’t have enough time to practice with the ordeal of going to hospital.. it’s funny the producers of the show never gave Niall or Louis one single solo in this whole programme 95% of the solos were given to Liam and Harry . Niall , Louis and zayn were very lucky at that time to get into that band based on their auditions which they admit themselves weren’t great - but wow what a development they have had 😍

Great way to spend quarantine😂😂 tbh had to skip "torn" simply because I know that Louis wasn't allowed to sing and it breaks my heart too much because they're on about how much they need him but he's not even singing. But I think it's nice in times of uncertainty to be able to go back to a time when things were just amazing- hence the beginning of 1D

Ik that him and Niall always got the least solos, and their mics always got turned down or taken away, but he wasn't actually allowed to sing!?!?!?. I was so confused, I was like, am I def, like wtf did they turn off his mic. But he actually wasn't allowed to sing. No matter how many times I hear about a new thing they do to him I still get PISSED.

Louis was "allowed" to sing. Both him an Niall just did the AaahAaahs in this. The boys and the vocal coach decided who sang the main vocals. And, sadly, it pretty much remained that the main singers were Liam Harry and Zayn

Maureen Kitty I think he was going for a type of mass appeal band, based on what acts he chose. Princes and Rouge is more likely to attract alternative audiences.
That was such an easy decision to be made !! Not only it will be more popular to bring young boys, they were all too pretty n it would be easier to negotiate n train them young like we do in general

Why is it that when they were doing their 1st performance, and Harry was singing and Louis was singing the same part as him, you couldn't hear Louis. It looked like he was just mouthing the words!?!?!?! Why can't I hear his beautiful voice :((

if you look closely he isn’t holding the microphone as close to his mouth as Harry and the others are so I think that’s why you can’t really hear him

I think one of the characteristics of Harry that make him so attractive is his absolute self-confidence. I’ve met very few people in my life that have that. And even when we heard stories he had some pre-performance jitters, you couldn’t always tell.
Frrrr people say it’s the fame I’m like did you watch his journey on X factor??? He’s always been like this! He’s never changed he’s always had confidence and it’s very admirable!!! The only thing that’s changed is his fashion sense which I believe he’s always had but was sticking to the management rules😭😭😭
@@naturalbby1722 Agree with everything except the management rules one. He just met the cool stylist in 2015. And btw, Gucci's rebranding also happened in 2015 and Harry helped a lot to promote it. yep, this feature is mindblowing tbh. But also he seems very honest in everything he does, you can say he's here cuz he loves it no circumstances make him do it, it's by choice. You can't help but admire people with these qualities because they're so rare nowadays.

No, because I don’t even know myself, I was never a fan of One Direction but for some reason Harry always stood out to me. Is he the best? No. Are the other boys just and maybe if not more experienced and talented? Yes. But for some reason Harry Styles stood out to me and he is who I follow even today

Louis and Harry deciding the group meeting and hanging out after bootcamp was a brilliant idea. We fell in love with the bond in the group as we saw their growth in music. 1D is each and every one of them who they are and what they represent beyond the music that's why the fandom is so strong even in their solo careers

When I was looking at the video it actually made sense that Simon would pick One Direction. They were young, cute, Talented, they have Charm, good personality and characters and they would be able to bring a huge amount of viewers for the show and an even bigger demographic. I had no doubt that Simon would sign them and he did.. and they became a HUGE Huge boy band worldwide! And they didn’t even win the show!! From a business standpoint, Simon knew what he was doing! He is a Genius!
wouldn\t have worked though if the boys appeared to be lazy asses. He was lucky they were very dedicated and hardworking for their age. just compare their attempts at harmony in lead-in to first live show (next video) and just a couple of weeks after, they were already trained, it happened very fast and they seemed to soak up all the knowledge they were given. Makes me proud of them for some reason when I think about it, and I have absolutely nothing to do with it. I might be becoming a directioner xDD

While I absolutely love 1D and am glad they made it through then. I actually have to skip by Princes and Rogues being rejected and seeing them cry because it's heartbreaking. They all look like such nice guys and they weren't bad or anything, and they were unique. I just don't like seeing that one guy from that band crying on his close up. He looks like his whole world has just been taken away from him. It's so sad. I hope they are alright now. I wouldn't have mind seeing them on the live shows. I think they would have been interesting. Actually, I think they maybe would have made it further than FYD did. Sure I liked FYD too. They were talented as well and seemed like good guys. But they weren't very unique. They were sort of a typical boyband that had been done many times already, well almost. There was a little more diversity in there band than most. I liked that. But Princes and Rogues were actually different from most boy bands. I like the cool, nerdy look. It was so different from the usual too cool for school look that most boy bands do. Princes and Rogues actually looked like a 21st century boy band, not a 90's boy band like FYD did. One Direction also was up to date and looked 21st century. That's another reason to love them, because they were different from the average boy band as well.

It kind of hurts me to watch how happy they were when they heard that they where through, because they were so excited for everything that could happen next..but then later they were too overwelmed and there was too much pressure on the boys. They made 5 albums in 5 years, they had to do concerts/performances while they were sick or had an injury ect. The manegment did them very very wrong.
Simon: My head is saying it's a risk and my heart is saying you deserve a shot.....
They were so young and so cute then. Now they are all grown young men, all successful in their own right and not one of them had gone completely haywire or crazy despite all that fame. Kudos to the families who brought them up. You need good families to rely on and bring you back to earth to keep you grounded.
