To Fiona and every woman who has gone through this amount of pain. Sis you are so so strong. You are a conquerer. You are a queen. And you are so loved❤❤
Story of my life. One of.my pastors asked me "What do you usually say to provoke him?". That was the end of me and that church. The gender desk at Nyamasaria Police Station and Kondele Police Station in Kisumu are functional. I received support and assistance from them. Getting out of an abusive relationship is not easy. Glad to hear she had the strength to leave.
So glad to know that the gender desk is functional. My prayer is that it becomes the Norm rather than the exception That pastor should be decollared if at all he was appointed through the correct channels like we have in the mainstream churches like ACK... Mkuru, I'm watching this a very long while later. I'm looking for the link to sign the petition. We must bring sanity back to our homes, which should ideally be a haven of refuge and peace when the world out there gets rough
I'm glad you were able to get out. No one talks about how hard it is to leave abusive relationships esp when you're your only support in taking the first step. Hearts❤
What an amazing story, thank you for being the voice and breaking the silence. Sexual and gender based violence is a silent epidemic. More than 80% of women have experienced it in one way or the other and ofcourse about 40% or more for the boychild have too. Lets keep the conversation going
Going thru hardships out here ..being beaten and there is nothing you can do..and you have no one to go to..it really hurts..and thats why i vowed to myself..i will give my kids that space of they can " come back home"..if relationship doesnt work..they come back home..if the society becomes cruel to them they can come back home..i will always be there for them despite what..
Heroines aren't always the one who wins. They're the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don't give up. That's what makes them heroines.
I've literally cried while listening to this. I have been a victim of GBV in a campus relationship. And I just realized that my 5 months of terror were nothing. Always against GBV. Glad she had a breakthrough. It will be all with all people out here who are victims of GBV. I am lucky I opened my eyes early enough and I am doing good otherwise I'd be long gone.
This is so educative and touching, just here to inform anyone who might come across anyone assaulted or in a similar case to always run to Nairobi women's hospital they offer free services to anyone in such cases, all branches in Kenya...and may God raise you Abel you are a source of blessing to most
Aaaaahhh! Mkuruuuuu we had missed you and you are back with a bang!! What a story. God bless you too for the many lives you have touched and changed because of what you and your team are doing. Wewe ni mtrue and we love you right back.❤
Back like you never left! Such an insightful story 👏🏾👏🏾 let’s protect our women and support them. An empowered woman is integral to an empowered society.
In honour of the souls we've lost in femicide, may your souls rest in peace🙏🏽 So in love with the movie that was released recently. I hope it gives one more woman the courage to leave before it's too late.
Wow !!Wow This Story made me she'd tears 😭😭😭😭😭 it's sad how GBV has silenced us because of money and wanting to live some type of way .Bravo to the unonimous lady it's because of her that we have Heard the Story
It's one of the best stories I have heard and I've been clapping and clapping in my kabedsitter. It's a dream I have maan to empower both genders. I am in campus Moi University main campus and just started an organization; Dada Inuka na Abilities Zako Foundation where our main goal is to empower ladies to make a living out of their Abilities and their talents. I believe this can eradicate poverty and such cases. I hope I'll get there one day and achieve the organization's goal. For now we are trying to reduce and stop period poverty in higher learning institutions by donating sanitary towels. We are requesting for donations. Thank you Mkurugenzi❤️❤️
Such a brilliant brilliant solution Mkurugenzi you were touched to spread the gospel to the people and the government. Kenyans should be given a chance to view you on our free to air stations who will be ready and willing to preach and fight with you 💪🏾 💪🏾 💪🏾
Bazenga mwenyewe amerudi...Thank you for being a voice to the voiceless and creating awareness on a subject that has plagued the nation for ages. The storytelling was still top notch. 👍🏿👍🏿
The story is very inspiring. Enyewe hawa officers wanafaa kukua serious when it comes to GBV. In August this year, a male officer harassed me sexually during some commotion pale Ferry. Nilianza kuteta so akaita female officer, but vile alikuja I was being caught like a thief... nikijaribu kuongelesha female officer nikimshow story, ananicheka ni kama mimi niko crazy. The male officers that were available at the station laughed with her. I was so heartbroken so nikaanza kelele kwa station nikistand for my right hadi OCS akatoka kwa office, and he said "kwani kukua mwanamke ni nini, ebu nyamaza." And that's when I knew, sisi madem hatuko safe in the hands of these police officers....yaani hata I was no longer angry about being harassed anymore, I was just shocked that the female officer did not care about what I had to say. Long story short niliekelewa kua nilithreaten officer na other offences. I really hope this doesn't happen to any other lady juh ni traumatising.
Manze you've inspired so many women "living so large" under suffrage and desperation. I have a lady friend who has not gathered enough courage to let go that lifestyle juu ya kuprotect image yake but I know she will get back to her senses. Big up mkuru!
Man : this story is just top notch man, and the idea to target our women heros' it's the best thing man. You need an international recognition and after atleast 10 episodes man, U WIL GET IT. BIG UP MAN.
This has to be my best story of mkuru yet!!so deep and touching..I'm so glad she got past all that and redefined her life!! Let's Say NO to Sexual abuse// Gender Based Violence
Mkuruu never disappoints. It's always a magical moment watching the live recordings plus the jyuuuce. Such an inspirational series lakini I'll miss young and stupid my favourite.
I normally respect you and your bold address on SGBV imepandisha rank zaidi. We need my voice, we need your voice. Am glad story iliisha poa, nlikua nimepanick through the session.
It was a pleasure to watch live Mkurugenzi launch the High on Heroines Series at Nairobi Cinema on Saturday 4th December, 2021. I don't take it for granted! 😎😎😎😎
This story is touching and encouraging. I've ever been a superficial victim of such(superficial because I left after he shouted at me). I'd understand why someone would go back; social influence, poverty, family and fear of the unknown(what will I do nikitoka hapa?). The ending is just fire. Her uprising and taking initiative to help girls who might be going through what she did... Nice! I wish everyone their good samaritan on time.
Beautiful, touching story @abelmutua, but I highly suspect murder, torture and rape are weapons of war management ( and by extension unrest management) taught in our police service curriculum. Else, how do we explain the shooting of unarmed citizens, young children, and even most recently, the unruly behavior in the just graduated GSU recruits? We are using a colonial curriculum that encourages violence to quench dissent, which is very unfortunate.
I just like the way you narrate your stories. You keep us rooted on our seats. You are gifted and talented. Lakini umetuenjoy watu wa, the newest city in Kenya, Nax Vegas.😂 May God abundantly bless you.
Its been a long break Mkuru...But now after this keeping quite is not my potion,i feel like @WAKURUGENZI should just match out and stand up for this just cause and @Abel as our ambassador...VIVA @Wakurugenzi
But surely how can you love money more than the safety of you child. We are not ready to talk about toxic parents in our society. Am glad Fiona found someone who came to her rescue. Wish you well
