Agreed that it's better than Misplaced Childhood, but I personally prefer their first two albums over Clutching at straws. The psychotic element of the first two albums is so intriguing and creative, and I feel like that's what really defined marillion.

Thank you. (BTW I know that Fish is not an alcoholic I met him in in the border town he lives in and he was a hell of a gentleman)
Always loved the way marillion and rush made the songs sound as good or better live than the albums. They didn't dumb down the solos or play an easier version of them. Steve's guitar here is on point.

I totally agree with Theodore, these albums were the next best Genesis. (The Peter Gabriel Genesis) Brilliant. Fish is a fantastic and energetic performer and the Scots accent is actually a great asset. Bravo Marillion < I love this band, before and now - fantastic

Misplaced childhood is the album I'm most fond of, because the first time I listened to Kayelight on the radio, I met this wonderful band by buying the album and I remember the indescribable thrills I experienced as soon as The pseudo silk kimono started. Clutching in the straw is a crazy album, with sounds and atmospheres that take your breath away. But my favorite album is Fugazi, never heard in an album such dark and intense almost hypnotic tones, a musical research worthy of a group that explores the universe of musical notes. These are the Marllion ❤️
This album and this concert I remember buying this cassette in87 when it came outcame out I was downtown Chicago I bought it at roserecords on Rush Street drove home listening to it I bought the DVD and the concert later on
This set of three songs is a masterpiece especially Wamr Wet Cricles/At That Time Of The Night... I do remember the concert I saw from that tour in Paris, just a few days before that concert in Lorelei. Very moving concert. The band was at its peak by then and Fish had so much charisma.

No fish, no marillion. I star listen marillion with my father i was 7 when this concert was recorded, i remember to see this in old VHS tape, and listen to clutching on vinyl, miss this days music was something special, then i remember that my father buy the next record seasons end, and was kind of a deception, i mean the new singer, sings very well, some say mutch better than fish, but was not the same, i fell sorry because that record was made for fish voice. So i never listen to the new marillion, i, m still stuck in 87/88 the old and great marillion
Love this, but the memory's evoked kick hard, and I wasn't a fan when first released but god its hard not to shed a tear and smile with the poetry, some magic going on here.
They are brilliant and sound like the album live unlike dire Straits, the drummer could be sleeping and be playing, never seen a drummer with so much ease. And the other members are playing superbly and fish is the only one that makes Marillion, Marillion.

The precision here is sublime . Some bands can't recreate what they put on vinyl . This is an amazing exception to that rule . Wonderful stuff .
