Probably the best reproduction Mattel has ever done. Looks so much like the original. I like my reproductions of the orginal Barbie but you can tell they are reproductions just by looking at them. I have been watching the orginal show and she's my favorite character. So it was nice too get her at a good price.

I am getting into doll customizing and learning so many neat things! Getting glue out of the dolls hair, cleaning them up, gathering up the courage to reroot (I got the tools, I'm just terrified), making wefts with yarn, being patient with the face ups (I use watercolor pencils and Mr. Superclear sealant so like...layers o.o), figuring out patterns for doll clothes, it's all exciting!
I have this huge monster high doll with this pretty sea green and purple hair whose eyes change with a button on the back of her head. I found her at a flea market around the Austin Texas area, and omg I love her ^^
Ever since I told myself that it is okay for me to have these dolls, (I grew up with brothers who would take my barbies and rip off their heads, chew on their feet and color all over their face with pens etc. just to make me upset, and my parents did nothing about it. I wasn't in a situation in which I could just get another doll whenever, I had to earn a new doll with good grades, doing chores, not crying when I got upset... my parents would just end up throwing away my doll because they would just get so bad and then gaslight me for not taking care of my doll...) Anyways, now that I have these dolls, I can finally heal that part of me by taking care of them and breathing new life into them ^^
I do art commissions and illustrations, so when I'm working I got my little buddies with me; my muses lol XD I even take my dolls for car rides every so often, and I allow myself two dolls when I go on an extended trip cuz everyone needs a friend ^^
One of the craziest finds that I came across was this beautiful Geisha doll that was in a glass case at a local thrift store and omg, this dolls life was insane! Apparently, she was a family heirloom from Japan, and she was made in the early 1900's! This doll Rodney! She is SO PRETTY! Her hair is adorned with the prettiest accessories, she holds a golden samurai helmet and her kimono is a bright red with gold embroidery. She is in pristine condition because she's been in a glass case all her life! Honestly, I feel like this doll should be in a museum and not on display in my bedroom but...she's mine now ^^ Now I do feel a little weird because the amount I paid for this doll...it was 50$, and when I went online to see how much a doll like this went for, I was blown away at how many hundreds of dollars these dolls went for on ebay, and none of them had adornments and accessories like she does...so...yea weird. This doll apparently had a sister custom made for her back in the 80's but she did not have a case and was in pretty rough shape, so the store owner was looking into restoring her and once she got her into acceptable condition, she would then put her up for sale.
So yea, that's my doll news :D

I love Ghoulia's style so much! The grunge and alternative look with the dark makeup! Ugh! I just can't with g3 Ghoulia. g1 Ghoulia's makeup hits different.

With my fat fingers, doll restyle are so hard. I can't get the elastics tight enough without the hair messing up. Lol Culver City I used to live there but I hated LA and moved to NYC
It can definitely be a struggle at times for sure but the more you do it the easier it gets! Culver City was beautiful and I had never known about it prior. I’d love to see it again one day ☺️
