AGREED 100%! It’s my favorite drama out of all her works so far. It deserves more recognition imo. My no. 1 recommendation when people ask me “what kdrama should i watch next?”
I feel like her persona in My Mister is closest to her personality in real life compared to the other roles that she took. Someone who thinks deep, an introvert & mature for her age.
What was said at 0:35 became true. Being noticed by Koreeda san, going to Cannes, getting a standing ovation at the screening...what a journey. Ji An of My Mister will remain iconic!
My Ahjussi was my introduction to IU. I didnt know she's a singer. I was just sooo impressed with her acting. She probably had the least lines of all characters but she made a huge impression.
To be honest I wasn't always her fan too (as actress).. I like her in The Best Soon Shin but her acting in Dream High, her voice safe her here but more because her character just badly written imo.. and her character in The Producer just idk.. The character is very inconsistent.. I think she want to play the "bad girl" but doesn't know how and make becoming ambiguous.. In a bad way.. She starts improving in Scarlet Heart... But on level of an okay actress.. Some people maybe will hate my comments.. But till now she's just another idol artist for me.. She's pretty with mediocre level of acting.. But Mr Ajusshi.. oMG that where she's amazed me.. From first scenes.. The character expressions are flowing flawlessly from one scene to another.. Still her best series.. We can see here her acting is improving a lot even and later at Hotel de Luna.. I called her acting in Mr Ajusshi is better in Hotel de Luna because the demand of the acting for the series itself.. I didn't watch persona yet but from the trailer.. She also seems to do very good job there.. IU is amazing imo because she keeps improving even when she's basically already a top idol.. She can just focus on her music and just stop on her acting level on Scarlet Heart, which I see lots of Idol turned actress stayed there.. Just looking pretty on each scene with mediocre expression on that scene and people will praise them no matter what they do.. But no she keeps improving.. She keeps challenging and go beyond.. She's mad with criticism but understand there also some truth of it and used it to improve herself... Her character as a person is so good.. She's so hard working and it's shown..

"don't act up" waah iu is a versatile actress there. Even i who don't know letter A in the acting felt that was a good impersonation.

I just finished my first ever IU Kdrama, Hotel Del Luna.. I love her soooo much. Definitely gonna watch My Mister.
Now I want to go back and watch My Mister again (that'll keep me occupied while waiting for new eps of Our Blues & My Liberation Notes).
