Thanks for the review, I haven't flown my python in ages since getting the conda, and was looking at selling it to get a krait, you totally swung it for me, I'll sacrifice a 6slot for a central cockpit seat and a fighter bay
I have to say. The only thing that makes this ship better is the hanger bay .. And I love my Python.. But if python had a hanger bay.. it would be superior.
Aubrey Gagnon: speed and acceleration. I highly recommend engineering grade 5 dirties with drag before you pass judgement. It goes 520k (boost) or so with a full combat fit. There's only a handful of ships that can outrun a thargoid interceptor. The Crait is definitely one of them.
This is such a pointless comment. I could literally say the exact same thing and say if you gave the Krait the Pythons extra slot then it would be superior. The Fighter bay is the selling point of the Krait just like the extra slot on the Python is it's own selling point. Krait= Multirole/Combat Python = Multirole/Trading. Personally I fly the Krait because with an SLF it gives it a great bonus in combat and a nice experience when exploring planets, oh and because it doesn't handle like a beached whale like the Python.
@@Wanderer628 If anything the Python should get the fighter bay. Krait can fight for itself more than well enough. That seems to be the common opinion I've seen regarding these ships.
If, and it's a big if, an engineered Krait can be caught after interdiction the attacker(s) are left with the equivalent of having a really angry cat thrown in their face(s). Not had a cockpit blowout yet, and it maneuvers like a fighter, especially if you boost. Ditched the fighter, because they die too quickly to justify them, and replaced with a hull package. Shield may be the current choice, but with bi-weave the re-up speed makes shield tanking a bit of a waste of module space imho. And I'm going to give Prismatic a go on her as the weight only loses you a few mps from your speed, barely enough to make it worth mentioning. tl;dr If you can catch her you'll wish you hadn't.
well, i am open minded so i always think that deserve what i got :) of course with serious support i would take this "job" seriously (as very few knows how much time actually does it take to make videos), but at least now i am open to everything, i did all i could and if that is not enough then i can move on. btw i made pilots guide which was even more insane job and got totally nothing for that, but this is normal nowdays. you can check it here: www.mediafire.com/download/5jxh750heuhzedw/Elite+Dangerous.Pilots+Guide.Manual.Tutorial.pdf
the guide honestly looks very astonishing looks like so many hours have been put in there, seriously you deserve something for that work. The thing is that player base of elite is barely alive now days comparing to the past years, I know people who gained up to 4 million subs in a few months just because they start making videos of fortnite ( the game i will never play ). And here is frontier want us to get more addicted to their game, making the grind higher by implementing engineers.
we only can compare to other ED youtubers like Obsidian and Yamiks, when i stopped making videos Yamiks wasn''t there and Obsidian had like 40k subs, look at them now, will see if i can get to 20k subs quickly, i really doub't that ... ;) but i plan to play 7 days to die when a17 hits the ground somewhere soon and other games, elite crowd doesn't seem interested in my videos, they need news videos much more, that's what they will get then.
Love my Python, But the Krait, it just has the slight edge for combat. And that was not even modded, currently doing that at the mo. But now I've realised I still have 6 engineers that need unlocking, yay back to reality, lol. Oh and a tonne of materials that I need, cheers for all the material vids, they are making the grind less painful. Keep them coming dude.
I love both of them.... I use the Python for Mining, Search and Rescue, and Cargo Running. I use Krait MK2 for Combat, Planetary Missions, and Exploration. I have both, they are great. Know which role you are using your ship for and load them out accordnigly....
If you can afford both of them, get both of them. Both are great ships and worth the money. If you can't afford both of them, get the Python first. It is the definition of multi-pose. No other ship does it as well as it does. Good shields, good armor, good hardpoints, largest cargo hold of any medium ship, does passenger missions better than any other ship(because it can land at outposts), and still has enough jump range and fuel tank range for exploring.
SLF is pretty much useless in those new Conflict zones, those engineered ships pop it pretty much in an instant and it was confirmed that SLFs are treated like other ships so every SLF lost hurt your victory chances in your CZ instance. Not to mention how much money and combat exp those leech npc pilot takes away from you. In Python I feel no need for SLF, I can destroy any elite engineered NPC without problems. I'm switching to Krait purely for the sake of changes and keep my python as core miner.
Wow, I am serious when saying that I am both happy, and surprised your still alive, your channel was dead for very long, but apparently you aren't, great to see! Awesome work, as always! Keep it up mate!
THE MASTER HAS RETURNED! All this time when I was theory-crafting on my own I was thinking - how cool would it be to have the master witness me. The master was gone though. There was no one to witness. But here it is, the SECOND COMING! ;) Welcome back old chap.
I am surprised to be similar in size with Python. I thought Krait will be smaller. For some reason I remember it as smaller whip from previous games :/ Damn I am too old to remember how it was.
I wish these variants would be similar to the faction ships instead of entirely new frames. Minor changes don’t need a new hull. While a bit of uniqueness (vulture, hauler, type 10 defender) often justify a more unique visual. I really think ED could freshen up the experience a lot with a few wildly unique (all missile racks, single large/huge mounts variant, 12+ small lasers evenly spread) on some frames.
When your in a fight both ships are good but if you want to last just a smidge longer, python is the better option due to slightly stronger hull & shields but overall I'll have to give credit to the krait because it's slightly better in all fields save cargo hualing
Do they have same optional lnternals? I mean am not really that kind of one role sided guy that's why i've been meaning to ask if they have the same optional internals because i would go for all multi-purpose ship role.
The Krait just feels better to fly - it may lack a few points here and there but overall I think it's close to equal to the Python so my decision was easy: The Krait.
I reckon you're already doing this but please can you compare the Chieftain and Challenger???These 2 are almost identical, so I wondered what you thought. Thanks for the vid o7!!!
Kornelius Briedis thought you would. I've got a Challenger but only flown it a little and it felt a little flat compared to the Chief. It just didn't seem to handle as good, which I was pretty much expecting. Plus I thought it'd have more differences compared to the Chief and would keep its 2 large and just have additions to that. But I look forward to your thoughts because the loser's gettin sold!!!
Get both!!! I will be using Python as general utility (Mining, hauling, trading), and Krait as hunting down bad guys...(but then again, why would I need Krait...i could do same thing with FDL, Mamba, etc etc)....oh the choice of life~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can pretty much confirm in my own experience the canopy is as fragile as the Chieftan's canopy maybe slightly worse after doing 2 fun live streams in combat situations alone, in a wing and multi crew my canopy managed to crack twice when my shields were down facing my opponent for just a brief moment. However the quick maneuverability and great continuous boosts lets you avoid getting more dmg on your canopy and gives you time to recharge shields if you desire, if it's bi-weave, and go straight back into the fight. You forgot to mention Python is not just for cargo runs, where it lack speed and maneuverability it is much beefier and can play more of a tank roll during combat compared to the Krait. All in all nice video. :)

Great, classic KB video!
Thanks for the low down Kornelius. Very informative as usual.
its simple, python is a trading ship due to the extra class 6 compartment and krait is a combat ship due to the fighter bay.
SLF is pretty much useless in those new Conflict zones, those engineered ships pop it pretty much in an instant and it was confirmed that SLFs are treated like other ships so every SLF lost hurt your victory chances in your CZ instance. Look at the location of core modules on the ships. Python is more resilient when shields are out, the Krait is paper.
that sounds about right, python is more compact, but cockpit for krait is similar as it was for vulture when it was introduced
