I am so glad you got to make those memories with your mom. My youngest daughter started diamond painting with me. We would stay up so late DP together. I cherish those memories. She almost had her DP completed before she passed away. I finished it. Cherish all your moments in time.

Hi Katie, Yes I got a friend mother at my child’s school into diamond painting… I gave her a bag of upgrades to help her out because she’s starting out on budget kits so she didn’t have much good supplies she loved it!
Love this chat and wip,many thanks .I had to give up work due to health issues, so I have found diamond painting great for my mental health,but listening to this made me chuckle so much, you are so relatable and down to earth .Keep up the great work, and please remember your words make so much difference to many of us out here, even in the uk 🇬🇧 xx
Thank your mother for me. I’ve been single placing only for years and currently in a colorblocking nightmare for myself. Hearing that she tried multiplacing, I decided to give it a go again and finally got it! Thanks Katie’s Mom!

And also, ugh people who work in pediatrics but will not talk to the kids is just the worst. I don't understand how that isn't screened out in the interview process. None of my friends are interested. Even though I gave them Amazon Prime DAC Diamond paintings. One friend complained that the spaces to put the drills are too tiny, the drills are too tiny. I told her, I have never had a problem placing the drills. Then she was angry that the kit didn't include glue. I told you don't need glue, because the canvas is already sticky. I had her touch a piece of the canvas and she said again I hate to have to spend the money on buying. I said look here Costello, you don't need to buy glue, the canvas has glue on it. Once again where do I buy glue. I gave up.
I am working on Golden Cocker Spaniel. I am standing up to Diamond Paint because of my Sciatica.
Sorry to hear about Connor getting Strep throat. The Nurse Practisoner had no business behaving that way. I would have told the Physician in charge about her behavior. I suffer from TMJ. Once the Nurse Practioner told me I didn't have TMJ, I had Migraines
Yes, on the upper left of my face over my eye. My right side is TMJ. Plus I had MRIs which show TMJ. I now see the actual Neurologist.
Just because you can fill prescriptions, doesn't make you a doctor.

🌵 I am so happy that Connor is feeling better, and so quickly. But sad to hear that a physician working with children in an urgent care setting, could behave so rude and cold. My mom and I use to crochet together. Now that she's gotten older and her fingers don't work like they use to we don't anymore. She gushes over what I make, but not the same as doing it together

Oooh no, poor Micah! I remember stepping on a cactus as a kid and my grandma having to pick out the quills with tweezers - not fun at all! 🌵And that nurse practitioner....just wow. Like...really?! I'm sorry you had to deal with that in an already-stressful situation. I'm glad it was such a great trip otherwise though! Big props to Adam for listening to so much Taylor without complaint! Hehe. Early congrats on 30k - WOW!!

🌵 i loved family road trips as a child. We always drove down to Disneyland every year and home through Vegas for my dad. The tray you have is pretty! Congrats on almost reaching 30K that is incredible! I’m working my way up to 3K and that’s just unbelievable in itself! Congrats again! 🎉
I've been thinking of getting my mom into diamond painting, she already does quilting and puzzles and other stuff, so it would be right up her alley, i think!

I have been dp for 4yrs now. And after giving all family and friends a dp. I also do seasonal ones for my home. And I typically only dp during the summer it helps keep me in the house and out of the heat! Love your channel!

Hi Katie, Glad you had a nice weekend with family. Sorry Connor was ill and that the PA was not nice. I have been diamond painting since May of 2023 and have gotten several people into it as well. My neighbors husband said I have created a Monster. I enjoy diamond painting so much. Thank You to you for helping me understand and learn so many different things. You are great.

🌵I’ve been listening while working on my first diamond art club painting 🌵
Katie, When you were talking about working on your diamond painting, I think that taking your time is important. Last year, I decided to do some events, but that won't happen maybe never again. I can only work on one painting at a time. When I started working on my Spangler painting, I stopped working on my Hannah Lynn. The whole time I was working on the Spangler I was concerned about the Hannah Lynn I didn't complete. Sometimes you just have to do what works for you. Participating in the events made me not enjoy diamond paintings because I was rushing. Well that's enough of that rant. Glad you had a nice mini vacation and you and your Mom got to work on diamond paintings together. 🏜

🏜 I'm with you on savouring the process of diamond art rather than the speed of completion. I'd hate for it to become a chore or feel like an obligation for me. That said, I mix it up with crochet these days (I started learning over a year ago now), which keeps both of them sweet for me 🥰 I'm so glad you and your family got to spend some valuable time together ❤️ I can't believe a medical practitioner would dare be so rude! You're a better woman than I in that instance. I would have torn her a new one and reported her!! Maybe she should swap to the admin side of things if dealing with people is too much for her. Unbelievable!

Glad you had fun on your trip. Sorry you had that terrible doctor experience, some people just do not have the bedside manner for the job especially when the patient is a child. I’ve had some horrible times that have left me feeling awful in the past but thankfully there’s plenty of good doctors as well. Poor Micah with the cactus I’m glad he didn’t end up with the barbs stuck in his hand.
This is neither here nor there but I was so sad to see that DAC and Hannah Lynn’s agent weren’t able to come to an agreement. And thus every kit is now final print. I jumped on Amazon to buy one of the few listed so I’d have one kit if everything disappears too quickly. 🌵

I ordered a custom for my sister in law of a picture that she drew and I was going to diamond paint it for her but she wanted to do it herself and that was 2 years ago and now she is hooked.
🌵 We always had little cactuses at home when I was a kiddo and I remember them always looking so furry and soft and thought they would be nice to touch 😂 they were not. I’m sorry Micah had the same experience poor guy!! ❤

My Mom does cross-stitch and sews, among other things. I've been gushing to her (and lots of other people) about diamond painting for a year now, and she finally said she would try it! So I sent her DACs little Sea Turtle kit from Amazon and I hope she likes it! Would love to share this hobby with someone

Ohh yes glass doors are astronomically expensive! We were planning to get a door with glass for inside the house a few years back and put it off because it was expensive. We finally went to do it last year and the price had doubled! Good luck! 🌵

Yes! I just got my best friend into diamond painting. She started with a custom from JGS that was 80 x 100 cm!! I was going to do it for her originally…now a few months in, she has 3 pens that “don’t write”, been doing enhancements with Sparklers & ABs, and is growing a diamond painting stash, along with a tray fetish. Aah, I’ve enabled her well!! 😂

🌵 Awwww, your poor little dudes both had a tough weekend! I know it’s hard when you’re going through it, but trust me, it DOES get better. We had three children in three years (yup, 18 months apart each) and our middle one was known by NAME by the triage nurses in the Emergency Department of our Paediatric Hospital! Now he’s in the Navy…. sleep tight Canada! 😜
Let me blow your mind a bit about your door. First, please remember that these figures are in Canadian dollars as we live in the Canadian Arctic. I had a client in another remote community that needed a new door set (the insulated steel inner door and the heavy duty screen door on the outside. Everything had to be flown in - including installers - but the cost was astronomical even for up here: $11,500 before the 5% tax. Hubby and I were personally lucky when we purchased our home; the previous owner had installed QUAD-paned windows in every window casing. Even in the dead of winter with the wind howling and the temperatures below -60C we never have freezing cold innermost panes on our windows.
Oh my goodness! I shouldn’t complain about our cost! 😅

I’ve gotten several people into diamond painting and my mom is one of them as well! We Diamond paint together as much as possibly together on Sundays! It’s def special time together!
I always find it interesting when people say that they only single place, or that it took them a while to start multiplacing. I started multiplacing the very first day I got my first kit. I just assumed that's what everyone did because the kit came with them! I hadn't seen or watched anything from the community at first, so i had no idea about any of these problems😅
(Not judging anyone btw! I just think it's funny how clueless I was😂)

I was very glad you were able to spend some time away with your family. Connor getting strep was a little setback, you handled it so well. Doctors that deal with children should never be the way you experienced. I enjoyed hearing about your whole thought process from stepping back, family time and diamond painting was a bonus. I’m glad your mom is also becoming a a painting buddy🌵

🌵 My face when I heard about Micah's incident with the cactus: 😱 One time our trash cans got tipped over during a Phoenix monsoon storm and my dad went to go pick them up. I was 5 at the time so too little to do chores. He got too close to a prickly pear and my mom was picking out a bunch of needles and burs from his calf. Seeing that first hand taught me.
So here’s my story. At Thanksgiving last year I was at my parents house and I noticed they had Diamond painted coasters. I asked my dad if they had bought those like that and he said no my mom made them. And then he proceeded to tell me that she’s done a whole bunch of diamond painting crafts that she’s going to be giving away as Christmas gifts. I have been diamond painting for two years now and have gifted her many completed diamond paintings. Never once has she mentioned an interest in doing it herself. She usually works Crosstitch and adult coloring. I then found out she’s actually working on a few paintings. I asked why she’s never mentioned it to me and my dad said he did not know but he told her she should because he knew I would be hurt that she had not mentioned that she was working on a craft I passionately love. So when she Woke up from her nap I asked her and she said she didn’t tell me because I’m so good at it and she didn’t want me to see how bad she was.😂 I had to reassure her that she was great and I am not the best diamond painter out there by far. And it’s only because I buy high-quality premier diamond paintings that they turn out so well. So now we can finally enjoy the hobby together. However I can’t seem to convince her to buy diamond paintings from licensed companies. She keeps insisting on buying from Amazon and says she can’t pay for those other ones!Yet when she gets done with the painting she complains that it doesn’t look as nice as mine😂
yeah I belong to a group that does right to buy pens. I actually don't really like it that way but oh well. Ive gotten like 3 pens from them so far.
I’ve heard that Netflix has a tendency to cancel projects, nowadays. This is after I learned that they canceled the Wings of Fire adaptation show.
This is fine for projects that the general public only knows very little (as in either they only have a concept ideas and images, or the WoF case, how it’s going to be adopted) about the show or movie, but it stinks when they already have part of the project finished and on their site 🌵 🌵

It’s going well! I’m a few days behind after being out of town, but I’ll definitely have progress to show in my next Month in Review! 🥰 I also shared a progress photo over on Instagram, if you happen to be over there, too.
As a nurse who lives in Chandler, Az (super close to Sun Lakes btw!) it is very disheartening to hear about your experience at urgent care Katie. Not all nurse are the same and I agree with your statement. There are many people that work in healthcare that should not be in this field. I hope that Conner (sorry if I misspelled it) is feeling better!
So I heard you talk about your mom starting diamond painting, so I thought I'd share a little something. So I've done 5 diamond paintings. All from Amazon all 30x40 cm no special drills. Well I got passion and power from DAC for my birthday this month, it's a beautifully stunning painting, but I am overwhelmed and a little scared lol. It's squares and has abs and large. Any support or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
