Kinda reminds me of the type of landscape from the original Mad Max movie, sparsely populated country roads and backroads. Especially the part when Goose was ripping through the counntry right before the wreck. We had a lot of these types of roads in America, actually still do in a few spots, but nothing is 'sparsely populated' these days, spare a few spots out west. Nice relaxing video, thanks for sharing the tour! Peace

lol, hardly new fangled, its a first gen, no ABS etc, just bike, ive had it 15 years now and still gets ridden more than any of them :-)

Looks like a real fun ride! I sure love my 2012 VStrom. The Delkevic exhaust has added a new level of kick ass sound but not too loud. I wish it was a little louder.
ive toned mine down a bit now lol, mines a long custom stainless twin outlet by Max Torque Cans, they did me a full stystem, fully opened up it sounds fantastic, but in little country villages in the North of Spain and Portugal it sounded like Thors Hammer :-)

That is what I call my 03 SV1000S with D&D cans! I have been mistaken for an incoming helicopter many times. The bass note travels far. Deer are a problem where I live but they run the other way when they hear me coming on that bike.
@@upsidedowndog1256 if i didnt get distacted by green lanes and side roads i think the SV1000 would probably be fairly near the top of my list 🙂

lol, its funny, i never even thought about it, that is just how it is in many places here, there is nowhere else to park, the real bummer is when someone decides to just open their door just as you are passing without even noticing you are there. It wouldnt be the first time if i rode up to the back of a line of cars with the drivers papping their horns to get someone to come out and move their car so everyone can get past lol
Ahhhh, thanks for the memories! The easy torquey pull from almost any revs, the ability to rev quite high but, they're just so happy to purr gently around at the low end of the tacho.
Damn you! You're making me really miss mine again. I don't know exactly what it is since my DL was the first V twin I've had but, there seems to be something unique and very pleasant about the sound and feel of those sweet little 650s.
Thanks for taking us on a run through some very pretty countryside there, it looked like you'd have been loving it.
honestly, the Wee Strom is a hard act to beat for me, although she is showing signs of age now :-) Im hoping to do a Europe run this year and ive got a lot of rattles, but ill get there :-) have a great week
@@barebonesmc Awesome! That's really showing your faith in the aging girl! I'd be getting a bit wary of a trip like that on an older bike, well, these days I would. I'm forgetting how worn out some bikes in the past have been when I'd still load up with camping gear and extra fuel then head off to very isolated places far from anything and obviously no mobile phone, or EPIRB type device in case of emergency, once even riding back with a shattered right ankle, that was, fun. I'm too stuffed to walk my way back to anywhere, or push a bike back 20 kilometers in the middle of summer, up hills and all in 110 degree F heat when the old T500 Titan blew fifth gear. I didn't just lose fifth, it would start but the chunks of gear were banging around making horrible noises like it was about to shatter everything down there even in neutral so no riding in any gear. The fact the engine ran fine made that extra frustrating lol.
Enjoy the trip and tell the good old girl to look after you like she always has.
@@lorditsprobingtime6668 it is only 2022 when we did a 7 country 6k mile tour on her and im sure you remember the video of how loaded up we were lol. but it is reaching that point i might well look at a replacement, then do what i always threatened and strip her back to the barest essentials, put it on stilts and build the bike Suzuki never did. having said that, i have had some not so great health news, and will now be forcing myself to walk until i cant anymore each day to try and make sure my legs dont give out completely again. the next battle commences, as im sure you can relate to. at least it looks like ive finally got to the bottom of what was actually happening now, just gotta fix the unfixable lol, so nothing new there lol when they tell me it can only get worse, it just makes me more determined to prove them wrong 🙂
@@barebonesmc Oh damn! This aging, plus carrying battle wounds business really starts to suck after a certain time and grand total of injuries all start conspiring against you.
I must admit I haven't seen that 7 country tour. I've only really been watching your new ones as they come out since discovering you. I intend to go back through and look at all the older ones but, haven't managed to get around to it yet.
I must admit, I'm curious exactly what Suzuki never built with those engines that you have in mind, or will I have to wait till you complete a build video😉.
