I'm 16 and I'm lost. I wanted to be a doctor but I'm not down for all those years. I also want a family and i just don't see myself working like that and being on call etc. So I'm glad for you giving methis information

Im 35 and i want a career change i have step 1 which is my GED .. ive beennin tge beauty firld but with coronavirus showing me how inessential i am im thinking hard about attending nursing school and becoming RN
I also recommend taking AP classes in high school for chemistry etc it will take off your prerequisite loads Also if you work in a different career or couldn’t get in you can turn your bachelors into a nursing masters degree in accelerated nursing program. You also can become a LPN and turn that into a bachelors... You can also take your prerequisites at a technical school to save money and then apply to universities nursing school
My college offered me guaranteed admission for their nursing program through a fast track program that I applied for in high school so definitely look out for that guys 💞
BrixChanel is there certain grades I️ would have to make in college in order to be eligible for that? I’m in my 3rd semester well almost in a few months
mariah milburn I’m going thru the same thing. I personally think it’s randomized and you MUST put nursing as your major when applying to your university.
i’m literally a sophomore and want to be in the medical field and i love watching your videos to give me so much advice your so helpful and i love that you explain everything!!
Yes more hospitals are moving towards hiring more BSN nurses, but feel out the area you live in. I live in rural Maine and i have my ADN, the new grads I was hired with that have their BSN only make 50 cents/hr more than I do. I think as long as you stress that you plan on going back to school in your interviews, you have a pretty good chance getting hired with an ADN! Also, you enter the work force sooner and most employers will pay you to go back to school. Once i go for my BSN i can do it all online too!
Great content. Remember when looking at a ADN or BSN RN program. Look at your financial status, living stutation, accreditation of the school, the school NCLEX pass rate. I am a new grad RN with a ADN. In my state I got a position working in ICU at a large magnet hospital. Plus the hospital will pay for me to get my BSN. I have a friend in the same state and we work at the same hospital. They are RN with BSN and works on Med-Surg floor. They are 60K in debt and make about a dollar more than me. Remember nursing school is hard. Not everyone is successful in the nursing program. Please do your research and pick a program that fits you. STAY ON YOUR gRiNd.
@@keritzaf6346 I am not sure about L/D because that's not my area..However the hospital where I work does hire RNs with ADN in L/D. The incentive pay as a new grad BSN is only a dollar more. Hi there! I’m in SC too and considering going into the nursing field. There’s several schools near me that offer the ADN program and I was wondering if you would recommend that? I’m currently in college for another degree and realize that’s not what I want anymore. But I also can’t afford to be in school for another 3-4 years doing the BSN. Do you think ADN would be a good route? I’ve heard so many people tell me that nowadays most places only hire BSNs so I’m nervous
I graduated with my ASN 3 years ago after a 16 month program & getting a job as a new grad was thankfully a LOT easier than I thought it was going to be. Getting a job in specialty areas like Peds, NICU, Mother Baby, L&D is damn near impossible without a BSN, period. Have you applied for your multi state license? That’s the compact licensure you were referring to. I believe Texas is a compact state. Useful for anyone looking to do travel nursing.
I'm going into my junior year in high school and I just found out that my school has an Anatomy and physiology class so I'm definitely taking that class my senior year, thank you Alexis 💜
The diploma or certificate applies to Practical Nurses, and as a soon to be LPN myself we are MOST certainly needed and are not phasing out. Anyone wanting to be a nurse but because of time, finances or family/work balance Practical Nursing offers a solid foundation to create a career.
Susie Says So I agree, i'm in nursing school in Texas to become a LVN. There are a plethora of jobs here in the Dallas area. The job my cousin works at as a lvn pays her 33/hr and she has a company car. Not everyone wants to work in a hospital setting!
lasondra wolf I agree love. The hospitals in my area are becoming over saturated due to the amount of new nurse grads, largely because a lot of hospitals offer the RN program and students hope to just go right to work there. The hospital setting is GREAT for gaining knowledge and experience but there are so many other avenues to consider as well.
Susie Says So I'm going to start my rn program in a month.Forty years ago when I passed my lpn nclex they said they were phasing out lpns.Guess what? We're still here!
I know here in the Dallas area that the nurse shortage is real! I wish people stop making it seem like lvn/lpn are not nurses. We take the NCLEX too! I personally don't want to work in a hospital cause I value my time. Like I said my cousin is a travel lvn nurse and she makes more then some of the RNs she work with. Anybody can get a degree but experience is priceless! BTW here the only thing lvn can't do is make a care plan or administer drugs via iv. But everything else is pretty much a go.
Great points! I'd definitely recommend getting a job in the healthcare field, department specific if you can, at any point prior or even during nursing school. Whether that be a transporter, unit coordinator, receptionist, medical records, nursing assistant, etc, etc. Even if it's a couple hours a week. Volunteer if you're able to. Being in the atmosphere of the hospital is invaluable experience you just WON'T get from school, and it will give you a definite LEG UP throughout the program. Once you graduate, you've already established a, hopefully good ;), reputation somewhere-- and landing a job should be a breeze. Just be sure not to carry bad habits you may observe in the hospital/facility OVER into nursing school, as the didactic curriculum will expect you to answer 'by the book.' Thanks so much for taking the time to explain all of this Lexi. It's EXTREMELY important information for prospective nurses!
Omg!! Yessssss my girl is back thank God lol I'm so happy I just walked out of work to see a notification saying you posted a video. This made my day and the fact that it is even a step-by-step way to become a RN makes it even better since I'm on the road to becoming one.
Actually, “diploma nursing” aka LPN isn’t being “phased out.” There are quite a few LPN programs in the surrounding area in which I live. LPN’s in my area can work pretty much anywhere that an RN can. I just don’t like that people aren’t considering LPN’s nurses anymore. I’m currently waiting to get into an LPN program, then plan on bridging to RN when I get to that point.
Gunner Carter it’s because LPNS are practical nurses meaning that they still aren’t real nurses. Just like one step behind. And they make way less money due to them having less responsibilities
Actually I think what she meant by diploma nursing is a program where you can obtain a actual diploma in nursing, not LPN. I heard of one hospital in CT that had it, the program just closed in 2017. So it is being phased out
LPNs are being phased out in many states. Programs lie and say LPNs can work anywhere an RN can and do everything an RN can do. It’s all fluff to sell an extremely expensive 1yr diploma, which if you think about it, isn’t actually worth the weak salary and workload. If you want to be an LPN take it for what it is or you’ll be extremely disappointed.
Picture Girl Lpn are not being phased out they work in LTC, Home Care, Doctor Office, Prison, Jail, and Mental Health faculty. I know LPNs and LVN who make good money. Diploma nurse do the same course as regular RN; then they go to hospital for Nursing school. After that program you can do you BSN in 12-16 months
Bless your heart! Seriously , you are precious. I'm over 25 and just figured out what I want to do with my life. I wish I had the motivation to figure it out when I was young. It's better to get the school part done in your 20s.
I would like to add that 7:40 when you say you can “only work as a nurse in Florida” that Florida is a member of the eNLC. AKA: the licensure for Florida is actually usable in other compact states. Some states are non-compact, however, as of January 19th, 2018, the eNLC was implemented and Florida (the license you received) is apart of this. Therefore, you are actually able to practice and travel in all compact states as a registered nurse. Please like this for the information.
This is a big question that I had and it really helped . I’m in high school and my mind is set on being a nurse . Your such an inspiration and your videos help so much you don’t even know 🤗💖
At my school you can get your CNA senior year of high school which is what I want to do but the classes are small and split between 3 schools soooo fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Itzabel Vargas You can look up different colleges, there’s more than one school who have this program. Sometimes some schools won’t have this program for BSN but will have it for MSN, it depends on the school and if you have previous nursing school experience and are transferring or you’re done and just going back to get a higher education, it all depends so definitely look into it. 😊
I’m applying to be in the nursing program in January so I can start to get my ASN!!! I highly HIGHLY recommend taking AP classes in highschool ( not just medical, include math, English, history etc). I took so many AP classes in highschool and the credit I received allowed me to skip a lot of classes and save so much money in college. The path I’m on right now, when I get admitted into the nursing program, I will only have to take nursing classes and none of the other classes they revoked I take along with them. While I’m getting my ASN they have us take the nursing exam to be an RN so I’m excited to be able to start working right off the bat. My school also has a transfer programs so I can get my BSN right after!
I needed this video I’m going into my senior year of high school and have been seriously considering becoming a RN but don’t know anyone who knows anything about that field which really discouraged me but after seeing this video I’m so thankful. Thanks for this video it came at just the right time! Also I love you and all your videos!❤️
I'm about to be a high school senior, and the reality of life is hitting me right now. I'm Filipino, and if you already didn't know, Filipinos are stereotypically all nurses. All my life, I rejected nursing as a career, but now I have come to a realization that it is something I want to pursue. If I think AP courses are hard, I am in for a ride becoming a registered nurse. Thank you for this video.
When I applied for college, I put my major down as nursing and they accepted me as a first year. Not every college will do this depending on your grades though. I start my 1st year of college in the fall 😋
You can get your adn, qualify to become a rn. For 2 years. Then find a school that offers rn to bsn program. That usually takes up about 1 year. So instead of going straight to get a bsn.
This video was very informative but I wish you went into more details of the different pathways to becoming a nurse because not everyone decides to be a nurse from high school. You didn't talk about ABSN programs or maters of entry programs and those are very helpful for people who already have a bachelors degree not in nursing.
Some community colleges are teaming up with their local state colleges in a dual enrollment program, meaning you can apply and enroll to get your ADN at the community college and your BSN through the other state colleges via online at the same time, saving a lot of time and money. I know MD colleges have done this, not too sure about other states.
7:28 Transferring your RN license to from state to state, may not be as complicated as you may think. Thanks to the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). ... Nurses will have the ability to practice in both their home state and other states that participate in the NLC.
Your video is super helpful! It gave me a lot of info i was looking for and simplified it for me. I just graduated high school and I want to become a nurse. Thanks again for the help 🤍
Just to name a few... If you like to smell poop all day, then go for it. If you enjoy saving a life and get cussed out by that very person, then go for it. If you like to be under staffed and under paid...go for it. You can have it, there are better ways to make a living. RN
Hi! I just discovered your channel and I've already spent hours watching your videos! I am a senior in high school, and you've answered so many questions I've had about becoming a nurse! You describe things in such a real way and it makes me even more excited to go into nursing school. Thank you sooo much!!!
My dream is to become a nurse. I’m at a point in High school where I have to make choices and i’m stressed. I only see myself in nursing school. Nothing else. Im going to work hard and hope for the best.
Kinda like Alexis, I am apart of an automatic acceptance program with my local community college so I get my ADN and then as long as I pass my NCLEX then I’m automatically accepted into the four year college in my state to get my BSN! A lot of community colleges do this with their state school and it saves SOOOOOO much money, would highly recommend anybody look into it
If in high school I suggest taking college classes during your junior and senior year to work towards your degree which is what I am doing now and I already have 30 credits I am personally getting my adn first and then doing the RN to BSN program also for most high School students you don't have to pay but the only problem is all school won't accept your college credit
thank you for this video, it was very helpful and just made me more excited about becoming a nurse!!!!! I honestly cannot wait till I start school by the end of this year! I just finished my contract from serving in the United States Army and with completing my contract, they give me the G.I Bill to go to school and plus I couldn't afford to pay for it myself when i got out of HS.
I have a few options but one is really standing out to me... there’s a nursing school who’s offering an RN Diploma and then if you want to get your BSN they’re affiliated with an university and you could do it, they offer you a job as soon as you graduated, If you work 15 hours a week while you are in nursing school they’ll pay for your education and it’ll take just 3.5 years to get everything done, of course you have to compete your prerequisites and then go to nursing school. What are your thoughts in this?
I’m thinking about becoming a RN after I finish my pharmacy technician certificate especially since I’m literally taking the same classes you need to get into the RN program
I’m only 15 and I’ve always wanted to be a doctor/medical field but I decided that’s what I wanted to do when I was in like midddle school and I was in it because of the pay but I’ve been watching your channel and it helped me think maybe I should be a nurse and if I feel I want to extend my career I can go back to school to become a doctor and this video was very helpful to give me an idea on what I want to do so thank you 💗
We have a 3 year bsn at my school. I graduate the adn program next june and it easy more convenient for me being a mom. I plan to do my bsn online that way im not on campus a whole 3 years. I like working from home
I start my program in the fall and I’m super nervous....sometimes I doubt my capabilities did you ever go through that? From what I’ve seen so far (during cpr training and scrub fittings) my cohort is not necessarily people that i could see myself ever really collaborating with outside of school. It makes me feel self conscious!
I am a 31 year old sahm of two. A four year old and two year old. I have been thinking a lot lately that I really wanna get my ged and then go into nursing.
Hi there. I know this an old video but I am currently at this phase of my life where I am changing my career path. I graduated 2020 with a bachelor's degree specializing in psychology and I have been working as a behavior tech. I want to fully invest myself to peds within a hospital setting. The only intimidating part is where do I start when I already have a 4-year degree. Another 4-years seems so overwhelming to me.
I’d recommend taking pre-reqs at a community college and make sure they’ll transfer over to a university if you decide to transfer. At my community college we just need A&P1 &2 as well as medical terminology to be able to apply for nursing school. While some universities require wayyyy more pre-reqs! Good luck to everyone!🌸💜
Courtney Marie they only take a semester at my school! I know some universities make you take organic chemistry and microbiology with A&P1&2 so I’d definitely look into community college!
Wait I'm confused? Is "nursing school" just the nursing program your university offers? Or is it at a different institution? I want to get into nursing but im in my junior year of college in criminal justice... can I go to nursing school after getting my bachelors? I can't chang my major to nursing rn because I would literally have to start over lol
The only requirement for nursing school would be to get your prerequisites done. Usually the prereqs are physiology, anatomy, stats, chem, and microbiology. Some nursing programs require more, like calculus. Doesn’t matter if you have ur bachelors already or not, u still need to take these specific classes to get into nursing program. So yes, u can get ur bachelors, and still get into nursing school but u have to take the pre reqs, too. Hope I helped, possibly? :)
Helo! I am an aspiring nursing student from the Philippines! Please make more videos because your videos inspires me to pursue nursing kn the nerar future! I just have a question. Can you take a master's degree in nursing if you're already a RN? my plan is to work first so that i can save money to get my master's degree. is that possible? and can you still practice nursing at a hospital and be a nurse educator at the same time? Thank you very much! All the love from the Philippines ! Mabuhay!
I finished my pre-reqs all A's only one B+, Currently studying for the entrance exam and I'm FREAKING out :( can somebody give me any tips for the NLN ?

How has it been?
This video was uploaded at the perfect time 😩🙌🏽 thank you
I'm about to be a high school senior, and the reality of life is hitting me right now.
I’m a freshman, how did u pass high school 😭 and I also wanna be a rn
Just passed nclex! Now tackling my resume, any tips on what it should look like or anything?? (possible video on this? lol)
Anjali N Any tips or topics the nclex really touched on? Was there a million meds? Im going into last year of nursing school
Everyone's exam is different but mine barely had meds. Focused more on prevention. Start studying a bit from now!
Can you please share studying tips for NCLEX
hey it’s been 3 years… how are you doing, how is nursing
When I applied for college, I put my major down as nursing and they accepted me as a first year. Not every college will do this depending on your grades though. I start my 1st year of college in the fall 😋
You look exactly like the girl from season 3 of love is blind!!!! Raven :) seriously. The resemblance is crazy!
Start my bsn program in August! You’re videos are so helpful💕😊 I’m super nervous yet excited at the same time
I started too! What’s your update sis?? I graduate next april
Speak about on time 🤗 going into my senior year of high school and this was a big help and gets straight to the point ‼️
Can you do a video on what to put on your resume once you finish nursing school?
I am just starting my freshman year in college to prepare for nursing school! I love your videos they are so helpful! 💓
i’m gonna start nursing school soon. i’m pretty excited
I am in high school i really want to become a nurse
I’m going to be a senior this year and really want to be a nurse and this really helped me 🙏🏽
Update?
update
I loved this so much!!!❤️❤️🤗😍 The beginning was everything!! Haha ❤️❤️❤️
You can get your adn, qualify to become a rn. For 2 years. Then find a school that offers rn to bsn program. That usually takes up about 1 year. So instead of going straight to get a bsn.
I got my GED and I'm trying to go to college for RN.
Im trying to do the same thing
Same here😊
Same here, but I don't know if I have to go for my ADN or if I can go for my BSN... lol the school I'm looking at isn't very clear.
I love your channel your videos are so helpful they’re answering pretty much all of my questions so far , this is soo encouraging love it❤️
This video was very informative but I wish you went into more details of the different pathways to becoming a nurse because not everyone decides to be a nurse from high school.
I love your hair color.
I suck at math but I love science and all that stuff
7:28 Transferring your RN license to from state to state, may not be as complicated as you may think. Thanks to the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). ... Nurses will have the ability to practice in both their home state and other states that participate in the NLC.
Your video is super helpful! It gave me a lot of info i was looking for and simplified it for me. I just graduated high school and I want to become a nurse. Thanks again for the help 🤍
She has a mix of Chantelle and Catherine Paiz all together😍.
I was just asking my friend for help yesterday, and this came. Thank you so much!! 💙💙
Just to name a few...
If you like to smell poop all day, then go for it.
If you enjoy saving a life and get cussed out by that very person, then go for it.
If you like to be under staffed and under paid...go for it.
You can have it, there are better ways to make a living.
RN
I like that you love that you accomplished what you wanted. The next step now, go for it.
In Canada you can get your BScN right after graduating high school, that's what majority of people do
Hi! I just discovered your channel and I've already spent hours watching your videos! I am a senior in high school, and you've answered so many questions I've had about becoming a nurse! You describe things in such a real way and it makes me even more excited to go into nursing school. Thank you sooo much!!!
Hey...im just going to start my journey in Nursing...and you are my biggest inspiration... wish me luck and i love you....
My dream is to become a nurse. I’m at a point in High school where I have to make choices and i’m stressed. I only see myself in nursing school. Nothing else. Im going to work hard and hope for the best.
Hows it going
Really off topic , Can you do a makeup tutorial ? Causeeee your face looks beautiful
Girl yes! You inspire me so much !
thank you for this video, it was very helpful and just made me more excited about becoming a nurse!!!!!
I would love a room tour it looks so pretty!
I’m thinking about becoming a RN after I finish my pharmacy technician certificate especially since I’m literally taking the same classes you need to get into the RN program
This was so helpful! Thank you so much for this video, I literally took notes of everything you said 😂
I’m only 15 and I’ve always wanted to be a doctor/medical field but I decided that’s what I wanted to do when I was in like midddle school and I was in it because of the pay but I’ve been watching your channel and it helped me think maybe I should be a nurse and if I feel I want to extend my career I can go back to school to become a doctor and this video was very helpful to give me an idea on what I want to do so thank you 💗
Thank you for sharing this information ! Very helpful
We have a 3 year bsn at my school. I graduate the adn program next june and it easy more convenient for me being a mom. I plan to do my bsn online that way im not on campus a whole 3 years. I like working from home
I start the nursing program next month and I’m so nervous 😩😩😩
ebonirice43 🙋🏼♀️me 2. Im so scared 😔
I start in September! I'm nervous but so excited! 😄
Same 😬
I feel you girl, I start in January and I am still picturing it all, and yet at the same time I can't help but be excited
I have orientation tomorrow 😩😭
You should do a video on tips to getting into nursing school!!
I moved to America and it’s so confusing. I fill out applications putting the date first, I’m not even ready for this! 😭
Did anyone have to take the TEAS Exam ? if so what are some good study habits i’m in need of help!!!
wow you speak so well and very informative, and so beautiful to watch
Could you film an update video on working in the ED? Now that you’ve spent some time working there, can you share how things are going?
I am a 31 year old sahm of two. A four year old and two year old. I have been thinking a lot lately that I really wanna get my ged and then go into nursing.
Hi there. I know this an old video but I am currently at this phase of my life where I am changing my career path. I graduated 2020 with a bachelor's degree specializing in psychology and I have been working as a behavior tech. I want to fully invest myself to peds within a hospital setting. The only intimidating part is where do I start when I already have a 4-year degree. Another 4-years seems so overwhelming to me.
you look so good alexis!😍🔥
I’m binge watching ur videos , & I’m quickly obsessing lol 😍 braainnn & beauty 🔥
Your hair gives me so much lifee🙆🏾♀️🙆🏾♀️
I am New subscriber and your such an inspiration for me and I want to be niccu nurse thank you for making videos to help future nurses out
Can I have a longer video than this with more detail
lollol that intro killed me!!!! hahahahaha. Girl you da best!
Hi. I thank you for sharing this. Helped me a lot.
What should you major in for college if you want to be a nurse?
Just need my maths! Then hopefully going to apply! 😬😬
That sing a long session at the beginning, I am so here for 😉
I’d recommend taking pre-reqs at a community college and make sure they’ll transfer over to a university if you decide to transfer. At my community college we just need A&P1 &2 as well as medical terminology to be able to apply for nursing school. While some universities require wayyyy more pre-reqs! Good luck to everyone!🌸💜
how long do pre reqs usually take at community college ?
Courtney Marie they only take a semester at my school! I know some universities make you take organic chemistry and microbiology with A&P1&2 so I’d definitely look into community college!
Nobody in my family has gone to college in America so this helped
Wait I'm confused? Is "nursing school" just the nursing program your university offers? Or is it at a different institution? I want to get into nursing but im in my junior year of college in criminal justice... can I go to nursing school after getting my bachelors? I can't chang my major to nursing rn because I would literally have to start over lol
Jennifer Aileen I hope someone answers. I am In the same boat.
Mabuhay!
I’m on high school and I want to take AP classes but I’m not cut out for it sadly
isterp fara it be like that :/
I love you so much. You're my inspiration. ❤️
If I get my degree in California then move to another state for example like Las Vegas Navada. Would my degree still let me work over there ?
I finished my pre-reqs all A's only one B+, Currently studying for the entrance exam and I'm FREAKING out :( can somebody give me any tips for the NLN ?
