- The call up list of the Super Eagles Squad for the Afcon has revealed the sidelining of some valuable players who play in the Nigeria Professional Football League which has brought up the discussion of why Jose Peseiro should or shouldn't have included them in the squad.

The sponsorship deal for the NPFL is not good enough
Uzoho might not be a fantastic goalkeeper but never compare him to any goalkeeper in the NPFL, do you know the Caliber of strikers and players Uzoho faces in the league every week? I play football in the Czech Republic and I can tell you that the best team in the NPFL can not survive first half against a second or 3rd division team in Cyprus talk more of a club in Europe. No dey count players for the league to come national team. We as a country and a footballer system don't have the capacity, equipment, environment, to nuture players from our league to play in the national team again players like mane or Sarah and the rest of them. Think well oga because football is not as you see it where you are seating down.
There is an absolute lack of knowledge of African football from the npfl proponents. The best African players are playing abroad and you now have even minnows are having almost 100% foreign based players. Check the lists being released by all the countries and I don't know why some journalists are fixated on local based players. Ivory coast, Senegal,Burkina Faso, Mali teams are 100% foreign based. Common DRC has only 1 home based. Cape verde all foreign based.
You are saying nonsense. The fact that other teams use 100% foreign based does that mean we shoukd follow suit? Jeez! We won the AFCON in 2013 because we had those NPFL players in the squad.
You guys are just talking for the sake of it. Brazil and Argentina have good domestic leagues and local players but their national teams are 100% foreign based players. Every Tom, Dick and Harry in Nigeria is a football analyst.

The league being bad doesn’t mean you shouldnt call the players actually playing well and on good form. We pick mediocre foreign based players and we say we want to win the AFCON?? We will and can never win this AFCON. Mark my words!
