Habanita is an underrated gem. The more often you wear it you realize how changing it can be depending on your mood, the weather, the season... Always the same and always different because another of its notes is discovered. The way you wear it affects the result too. It's better to use it almost like an extract. Today I just ordered the brand new red 100th anniversary edition. And don't be afraid to wear it in summer, two sprays, it blossoms on a moist sweating skin.
Thank you for another colorful review. What I like about your channel is giving us an image of a scent at almost a reach of a hand. Please keep it uploading. Cheers, Pep!
This scent really is wonderful. I usually hate powdery scents, they're too ...cute?😂. But this is such a wonderful smell. In fact on my skin I can't tell if it's oakmoss or powder I'm smelling. My husband gifted it to me and I just LOVE it. I do understand why women my age would not want to wear it. It's different
The image I get from this fragrance is an underground jazz club with lots of cigarette smoke in the air mingling with perfume and makeup and maybe a little bit of sweat 🤣 I think that’s that leatheriness that you describe. I love this one. It’s not an innocent smelling fragrance.
It is an excellent perfume! One of the great masterpieces. It was originally released as a Parfum (Extrait) as were most women’s perfumes at the time. Great review!
Thanks for the video. I blind bought this fragrance, I enjoy the complexity of this frag, very long lasting. I agree 4 spray's top, deff. a cold weather frag.
Hello. I haven't smelled Shalimar for quite some time, but i do remember it being quite different in overall feel to Habanita. I think i do have a sample of L'Heure Bleue and would be happy to review eventually. I do have a review of current Mitsouko edp on my channel ua-cam.com/video/lgDmcuUTDLg/v-deo.html
I was looking at one of your videos from a while back, you were walking by the waterfront and you mentioned it so I thought I’d give it a go, it’s wonderful. My SOTD is Bal A Versailles, another great classic, don’t know if you’ve reviewed BAV, give it a go, you’d love it.
@@TheScentinel yes current version, I bought a sample from EBay, I wanted to trial it before a full bottle purchase as I’d heard it’s very challenging, it is challenging but in a good way. I’ve always wanted to love No5 and Shalimar but I just don’t, BAV is all those things and more, I’m very happy with it, def a cold weather scent, sophisticated and classic, it’s just the right side of unisex for me, love the feminine side of it too, I get visions of being wrapped up Christmas shopping in the crisp cold air, powerful performance to boot. Highly recommend.
This may be a dumb question, but how did one “scent a cigarette” with perfume? I have this on the way and have actually only ever had my nose on a very very very old vintage sample, which I’m sure has lost all of its top notes, the base smells ridiculously good though, smooth, definitely very high quality ingredients, very much looking forward to getting the full picture of what this is supposed to be, even if it is the newer re-imagined edp.
What about the actual leather note? Is it still there? It’s definitely in the vintage EDT but not listed for the new bottle. I understand you may get nuances of leather, but I was hoping they would not have removed it altogether. I have tested the vintage and love the leatheriness of it. I would hate to have that gone. Been looking at the new bottle to purchase but I’m worried the leather will be missing. 😢
@@Eirini80 Oh, I love vintage perfume! I plan to order Bal a Versailles next but I'm curious about Habanita EDP as it has been compared to a perfume I already own: Rose Noire by Giorgio Valenti--released in 1986 but crafted in the vintage style--very powdery, boudoir vibe. Not 'high end' yet one of my faves.
The EDP was released in 2012. The perfume is discontinued. But two times a year the EDT is available in a large 500 ml bottle on their site, like most of their perfumes. I used to buy Habanita and Patchouli Intense in these big bottles.
Its hilarious to me how some men are afraid to wear perfumes that lean even just slightly feminine. I don’t think it should be any surprise that men would like and enjoy these types of fragrances, it is after all what women typically wear to attract and entice men, because men are typically drawn to that type of scent profile. I wonder why I’m getting a muddy play dough from this that I don’t like. If anyone gets the same and knows what it is can you let me know please. I’ll give this one more go before I sell it.

Habanita is my most complimented perfume. Still have the Edt version in 39 ml
30 ml EDT that is discontinued

Ah, the old days.
The Scentinel was the vintage sample you tried of the parfum, edc or edt?

Ah, glad you are enjoying it. Thank you
This one is an underrated gem 👑
Sure is.
Wondeful review. How do you think this compares to Shalimar, both in smell and characteristic? Also, can you review L’heure Bleue and Mitsouko?
❤️

My guess is they literally dabbed the cigarette with the perfume. I could be completely wrong
I need to get this to accompany the 9 other molinards I have, Great review pep thankyou🙏

This is actually the first Oriental, not Shalimar.
It’s next on my list to try!! Not the Beebs 😝
