I did not be restricted it topped out at 41 but I'm a pretty light Rider at 145. They discontinued The Zuma in North America in 2018. Saw your video and that's what led me to get the roughhouse. I've only put eight miles on it I'm still driving it easy. But it's so nice to have a 2-stroke again. Thanks again for the video. 🛵👍
Yeah it come with a rack you can put all kinds of storage boxes they have them at the dealer or you can buy your own. I. Use a milk crate I like that more because you can overstuff it and remove it a lot easier. They also make a 110 engine for it so you can make it a sleeper; able to do 60mph and get up there fast, but it still plated as a 50cc.
Its a two stroke so you don't change the oil for the engine. The gearbox has a drain and fill you should find it easy the drain is the only nut on the underside of the gearbox case and the fill is the white plastic nut on the rear. Keep in mind when you tighten them that you want to be able to unscrew the two of them again in the future, so don't over torque them
we just got a roughhouse and did a speed test on a flat road. Speedo was pegged at 50 MPH and my Garmin was reading 42 MPG. as Nick Nasty said below, over 35mph the speedo is off.
Wow, that's impressive. I just got a Tomos Nitro 50cc 4 stroke and I top out around 42mph, but up hill I would be lucky to maintain 32mph. I'm also surprised with how fast you accelerated. It only took about about 5 seconds for you to hit 30mph, and it usually takes me about 8 seconds.

Yeah got a 14 after I blew up my buddy a few months ago . It's beast. Put a 100 watt bazooka under the seat and am hid Kit. Had to piggyback an extra battery.

What is the yellow line between 40 and 50 on the speedometer? Does that mean it is not supposed to ride it above 40 mph? The last 50cc scooter I had was a 2005 Yamaha Zuma 2 stroke, and it topped out at around 40 indicated. I never checked it with a GPS. I am now considering buying another 50cc scooter, and I want a 2 stroke. The only 2 strikes available in the U.S. that I know of are the Genuine Buddy 50 and the Genuine Roughhouse. The Roughhouse is more my style. I hope to get one soon, before they also get taken off the market. I wish I had gotten a Genuine Rattler 110 before it disappeared. I have a Genuine Stella 150, but it is not much faster than a 50cc 2 stroke. It will go faster, but if you ride it much faster, the engine will likely seize. Plus you have to shift and clutch, painful with my arthritis.
No scooter is meant to run wide open. I burn up about eight of them! I now have a 150 that has 25,000 miles on it. It will max out about 70. But when I'm doing 45 it's very comfortable. I got tired of being wide open at 45 on the 50s
+Dodie Hoyt I rented and rode the Genuine Buddy, which is also 50cc, with a regular non-motorcycle driver's license in New York. It did have the restrictor plate through, so I couldn't tell you if what the video depicts is legal without a motorcycle license.
+Matt Sezer thanks Matt. I talked to my dealer & confirmed what you said. I can get my Genuine Roughhouse without a motorcycle license, there are restrictors from the manufacture. Dealer said they can be removed but it voids the warranty if I do. But thanks for the response.
I have two of these derestricted,38 mph is all the scooters will do. Speedometers on all scooters and motorcycles are set high (5 to 10mph) to make you think you are going faster than you really are. Big brother making you safe. Both my GPS read 38 and 37 as top speed.
They clearly took off the variator sleeve, but did they de-restrict your exhaust? I'm over 260 pounds, and mine will gps 42 usually, sometimes 43mph. That's on flat Florida roads with no breeze. What type of fuel are you using?
Word to the wise take that gas cap and throw it away they actually make an aftermarket gas cap it doesn't lock but it doesn't get stuck either and who the hell is going to steal a gallon of gas out of your scooter

I bought it from a dealership 200 miles away. It was $2199 before taxes. 100 for delivery to my door 100 to de-restrict. About 2600 out the door. He ordered it special for me.
Alex Atrocity It is probably the best 50cc on the street. It is a 2-stroke. That means it burns oil with gas for lubrication. Just keep the oil reservoir full with good synthetic 2T oil and regular gas in the tank and no oil changes needed. You only need to change gear oil at 200 miles(new gears will get metal shavings) and about every 2500 miles after that. If you have any questions let me know. My 2015 Zuma with a variator upgrade only does 41 on flat gps and 48mph down a hill again gps. Speedo is pegged.. roughhouse is a fast machine stock but I wanted the reliability of a 4stroke and didn't want to listen to a whiney smokey engine that needs oil mixed.

impressive but redlining your engine is incredibly harsh on engine, apparently you are financially able to replace engine/scooter when you prematurely kill engine, so thats ok, lucky u, but personally i keep mine at 30 around town and with proper oil'ing expect to get years of relatively trouble free transportation, fyi abrupt acceleration also prematurely kills engines, just like cars and motorcycles
mark norris Genuine comes with a 2 Year / Unlimited Mile warranty. Assuming the Dealer is the one that took the restrictor off, his Genuine Roughouse 50cc would be fixed or replaced under warranty. It's been more than 3 years since this video was posted and of course the standard warranty is expired but when the video was filmed he said "brand new" and the post date is accurate for a 2012 Roughhouse which means his warranty would have covered him approximately 24 months.
Only problem is you were clocking your speed with your mph gauge. And we ALL know these scoot speedometers are off 5-6 mph at 35mph and above. So if you're going 35, your actually doing 29mph. GPS your scoot and we'll see what you can really do. Lmao. Then bring it up against my "Beast". 100cc bbk, A9 racing cam, etc, etc.....

I live in Delaware. I payed $2000. I rode it in the snow the other day and it had awesome traction. raced a 2012 zuma, and blew his doors off.

Premium gas only. And it would top out at 30mph if it was restricted. Unrestricted will reach the 50mph top speed which is 47 actual.
I'm getting one of these in the next few weeks, before the cost goes up do to the gas going up $ 4.00 a galllon

It's a Minarelli engine. Same engine was used In the Yamaha Zuma before the Zuma became a 4 stroke. They are basic but tough as nails.
