  • We know the vast majority of our G8X customers aren't looking to turn their beautiful M2, M3, or M4 into a full on racecar - we get it. The idea of a dual purpose car used to be impossible to do well. If you want a car to perform on track you're going to be miserable on the street. Want comfort on the street and its going to underperform on the track. Thanks to Motion Control Suspension, that is a thing of the past. These MCS 2way Non-remote dampers are made to work with RWD or AWD versions of your G8X chassis M cars. After several hundred miles of testing we are blown away with how compliant the car is on the street - better than factory by far, yet gives the car so much more platform to work with when really leaning on it. This truly is the best possible answer for someone who is looking to drive their car on the street and dial the shocks up a little bit and hit the track for a fun weekend.

Will this new 2WNR design replace the old canister-less version and will this change be applicable across other models? Heard rumors a while back that the 2wnr were getting a change but this still took me by surprise, great work guys.

Great question. Been considering 2WNR for my f80 and would be interesting if the piggyback was an option

I was gonna ask the same question for my F80 too.

The functionality of this piggyback system remains the same as the traditional 2WNR system, but this was put together for packaging specifically to be able to use a Non-Remote in an AWD application. The Non-Remote dampers are traditionally longer with a reservoir at the bottom which would interfere with the AWD axle. We've been working with MCS on this G8X setup for a few years now to nail down the perfect valving for the 2WNR and are extremely happy with the final results.

@@M3fahrer It's not needed for an F8X application because there is plenty of room for a traditional longer style damper. This piggyback style was only created to get around the packaging requirements for cars that have an axle that go under the damper in the front. There's not performance advantage from this piggyback, its just to fit properly without penalizing the damper quality/performance from shortened internals. The standard MCS 2WNR for your F80 is still the best out there! Let us know if we can help get you set up.

Can you adjust camber with any camber plate on the G AND F8x through the strut tower hole?

Pricing hasn't been fully nailed down just yet, but will be similar to the current MCS configurations of the same level. We'll have an update soon with more info including pricing and availability.
