Brad, I'm not going to completely take Bard's or ChatGPT's word when I use it for my queries. I still end up fact-checking via Google search. Regardless of how advanced these generative AI models get (maybe even say, ESPECIALLY when they get more advanced), people MUST still fact-check, and right now, it's done through Google Search and by inspecting the contents and sources of those blue links.

I can see what you are saying, and so google search won’t ever die completely, but you don’t need to fact check “how to make an omelette “.
Already i am using chatgpt a lot. And much of the reason i still use google is habit. These tools are also new and still crude… but what this guy is saying is correct, and actually his predictions don’t go far enough.

First, he refers to it as a "French omelette". Omelette is French. That's redundant. There's probably various ways to make a "French omelette". I don't want one answer, or else everyone who makes an omelette will make the same thing. Google allows me to get variations to the same question so I can then put that in my own information blender. What he states may be good in some cases, but not nearly all.

Summary : Brad Gerstner, shares his views on AI and its exponential growth. He emphasizes that AI allows us to extract knowledge from information and make better decisions.
The host mentions that Gerstner has made building his portfolio central to AI and mentions companies like NVIDIA, Meta, Microsoft, and Snowflake that express their belief in AI's potential. Gerstner agrees and states that it's an evolution rather than a revolution. He explains that the goal has always been to help people discover information and get better answers. He highlights the acceleration in AI development, including OpenAI's ChatGPT models.
Gerstner mentions rearchitecting their portfolio in anticipation of the AI revolution and the value creation and destruction that comes with it. He brings up the example of platform disruptions in the past, such as the web and mobile/cloud, and suggests that Alphabet (Google's parent company) may need to reassess its portfolio around tech and AI. He explains the shift from static web pages to a conversational approach, where users can ask questions and receive answers directly.
Overall, the conversation explores the transformative potential of AI and its impact on various industries and investment strategies.

I just don't see how this creates better outcomes. I don't want one "definitive" answer decided by an AI, but several options which I can choose from. This technology certainly has innumerable applications, but it is so energy and water intensive that using it for something like search is equivalent to driving in a nail with a sledgehammer.

My question is whether there are vast profits to be made, or if it will be a commodity right out of the box, like search currently is.

Not at all. For now all the “answer keys” or model weights are all very proprietary bits of software.
Musk funded Open AI in the hopes they would be just that. An OPEN SOURCE AI. He knows as well as anyone; some diy programmer with extra GPUs from Ethereum mining, WILL be able to create a similar LLM to GPT-4.
In fact GPT-4 codes well enough, that a fledgling programmer is most certainly building their own as we carry on.

I don’t know markets as well as technology so I’ll explain things in the most simple terms.
What the robotic arm did for the assembly line, AI will do to certain “information” trades/white collar jobs.
Not next month or year, but eventually.
Before the map was filled in they had college level geography. PhDs. In a generation things like software engineering will become trades, like welding and tire retreads lol

Mitigating the risks of ai & regulating the industry will be an existential obligation (the models used to run these AI systems are inherently flawed). Palantir’s data ontology/governance/ACLs & products (AIP) solve this. 1st to market, currently a monopoly.

The French president said that if there is a war in Asia, it has nothing to do with them. Why didn't the French president say that Russia invaded some European countries today and had nothing to do with the United States too?But he is eager for the US to support most of its resources to help deal with Russia, thus payoff for US from of French’s president is :if something happens to us that you should come and help without question about ,but if something happens to you, that will be nothing to do with me, they treat the Americans with such arrogance . What a disgraceful ungrateful villain, looking back on the old days of WWII, they should be thankful to the US for paying thousands of young soldiers their lives and resources to save France of them from German aggression and domination, otherwise Emmanuel Macron's language will be german instead of french by now ,the such ingratitude person is worse than a wild dog, and even a god cannot be tamed
