I played Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride at a camp sometime around the age of 12. I then had a gap during high-school and most of university. For some reason Carcassonne was the one game that stuck out to me in my memory and caused me to try figure out what game it was that I played when I was 12. It is such a great game and definitely the one that got me invested in this hobby!
Carcassonne is a perennial favourite. One of my first modern board games and it helped build my passion for bigger and more complex games. Thank you Klaus-Jurgen Wrede for this timeless classic.
One of my first games to own. Won it at a fundraiser auction. I don’t think my version came with a bag - but it did come with the river and abbot expansion.
An all time great. Play this at my Mums every Monday, its her favourite game by a mile. I do have a cheap copy of Alhambra on the way from Ebay though so maybe she will like that. When playing at 2 I love the draw 3 tiles play 1 house rule, makes it easier to plan and really go for the big cities.
Sometimes I like to go to UA-cam settings, and slow Alex down to 0.75 speed. Then I pretend that I'm hanging out with the Game Master right after he took a bong hit. Try it, it's a whole different vibe, & great company!
I'm bias as Carcassonne is what got.e to finally admit I'm into boardgames and gave me. A reason not to kms after a bad depression. I now own almost every expansion and it' got my family to try and get together every other weekend for a quick game.
I thought the term “meeple” was a shorthand for ‘miniature people’…which irked me every time someone would call other wooden bits like animeeples…Really, “animal people”!!!😂

My start into board games several years ago. Had the absolute pleasure of playing Carcassonne on the walls of Carcassonne last year!
I often buy it as a gift for the children of friends etc (I'm sure they'll thank me later 😉)
This is the game that starts of my hard-core obsessions of collecting board games
There’s also now an official solo mode available. Very easy to play and quite a lot of fun.
Carcassonne, this game takes me way, way back!
P.S. I thought I was watching an old review of yours, given how old this game is. Haha.
Ty for this review!

The games visible behind you tells me how long ago this video was recorded hehe.
I thought this was a Flashback Friday review? My wife and I play this one all the time.
The farmer rules had me stuck for a while but past that now. Thank you for the review!
Absolutely!
Used to play Carcassonne a lot - these days it is more Kingdominos.
At the end you should have compared it to Isle of Skye. It's very similar but with fun tile purchasing rules.

I like the big box version of carcassonne. You throw in 2-3 expansions every time you play and you have lots of replayability.
Last time I played 2 tile castle scored only 2 points, but this was in 2000s so the rules might have changed.
I guess 2 tails cities are worth just 2 points instead of 4. It's just an exception to the general rule.

Lol fair :)
I do it the other way around. I speed him up to 1.50and pretend he just had a double espresso with 10 scoops of sugar.

A perfect game in my book ❤
