This is so cool to see, I just recently bought mine I use it for my B cam when filming events and I also use it with my gimbal to get creative crane shots. And don't get me started about the quick release feature. It's an absolutely great tripod I might do a review on mine soon.
Also I just want to say I have been watching yout content for a while now and truly you have helped me to become a better creator myself, you've taught me things about my mavic air 2 my mini 2 and showed how even as a solo creator we can create content no matter the location, the environment and definitely no matter what gear you have and for that I am very appreciative and thankful
I can't wait to get the new wider base with the locking foot lever option to go on my two Cobra 2 monopods. They were always great but the extra stability on the wider feet will be a great addition and the foot lever with the auto centering/locking feature makes it probably perfect.
Thanks for the nice overview! I love the lever locks but sometimes it feels I'm mostly alone in this, though these are really nice IMO. Had a little issue with mine where a freak gust of wind cost me a camera lens, so I'm a bit more squeamish now... 🤙
yikes! yeah I don't leave it alone if there is wind and if there is a breeze I am never far away. I had a tripod get blown over once and it cost me a rear screen
I have 3 v2 monopods but they all have a problem of the ballhead getting stuck seemingly for no reason. Even the unused ones have that problem. I need more reliable system for filming disc golf. Trying out Manfrotto this season but I would like to know should I give these V3's a chance. Does anyone know has there been some improvements done regarding the ballhead system?
Thank you for the video. I have the Cobra II 180 version already. Can the new wider bases of the version 3 be used with the older used with the older version 2?
I noticed that you were "snapping" everything together when you went low mode, or adding your fluid head. Is that included with the monopod, or is that separate? If separate, what is it called?
@@JakeSloan Sorry, I was not clear in my question. I am asking about the mechanism or connector system used to snap on/off the fluid head or snap on/off the post from the tripod portion.
Oh the connection is part of the monopod, the only part in this video that isnt part of the monopod is the fluid head but the quick connect plate and tripod feet are part of the monopod
Im curious - which of the new versions do you prefer? The pedal version seems cool but I saw that it has a limited range of motion compared to the original version. Not sure if thats a big deal. What do you think? Thanks
Just bought one for bears and other wildlife, hand held works great for photos. But I do just as much video and want to see if this can test out my 100-500mm lens on the fly.
Jake I have a fluid-head that Im happy with that I swap back and forth from my (janky) monopod to my tripod. So buying the v3 should be helpful - is the ifootage fluid head worth buying with it.
I'm gonna order the iFootage sticks. and the Komodo head. Will I be able to remove the head from the sticks as easily as you show here? Or is that a monopod only thing?
How strong it can hold a wind😅 sorry im dumb but im really looking to buy for a monopod that i can leave my insta 360x3 and wont fall coz we have a really strong wind here or any reco please

Nice!!! definitely do a review these things are amazing!

I have my own Fluid head so I shouldn't have that problem - yes?
correct!
The ball head system has been improved as well
Another good review Jake
Thank you so much Lyn!
Great review! Is there an attachment out there that lets me tilt my camera to get vertical shots/video for social media video purposes?
You can use any ball head that has a 1/4 or 3/8 thread on the bottom. I am doing exactly that with mine!
Hey Jake great video and what cool piece of equipment . Looks very easy to use . hope all is well Jake
Thanks Michael, hope you are well!

I believe they can be using the same quick release setup!
I noticed that you were "snapping" everything together when you went low mode, or adding your fluid head. Is that included with the monopod, or is that separate? If separate, what is it called?
The fluid head is separate and its the Komodo K5 also from iFootage

I personally like the pedal version but the original version definitely has the widest range of motion

Nice! I haven't tried that yet but I think it will work fairly well

I think it's great overall for a compact fluid head, but it's not without it's quirks like most things lol
Great product. Nice equipment and honest review
Thanks! 👍

That’s just a mono pod thing unfortunately
Great review, Jake! This looks like the monopod to get, especially like the versatility of it breaking down into a low angle tripod, cool!
Thanks and yes it is, way better than any other monopods I have tried
Which fluid head are you using?
This is the Komodo K5 Fluid head from iFootage
which is better the twist lock or the latch?
I like the latch best personally

I would not recommend any monopod for windy situations
@@JakeSloan i see i think i have no choice do u have reco for tripod that is not too big ?
Could it be used for action sports?
it definitely could be
@@JakeSloan you think I can mount a GoPro or action cam and snowboard with it? What kind of mounting system does it have?
it uses a 1/4 20 but I would not use this for GoPros etc for that a selfie stick is better
Would have been great, but as a carry on only traveler, this was a little to long. Even with the bas removed it doesn't fit in a carry on sized bag.
agreed they do make shorter versions but I haven't checked to see the smaller collapsed length is
cool
Thanks!
lol don't get how this doesn't tip over at all
right?
Too bad it's not available!
It should be soon.
