NOTE: Unfortunately I could not find much about this really great orchestra. It certainly recorded a lot for Edison Diamond in the last years of the 1920s, and some of their recordings can be found under the cheap labels Cameo, Banner. After 1930 they disappeared from the music market.

Great roaring twenties tune! Al Freidman recorded many sides for Edison at this time too! One Diamond disc label from 1928 called his band his "Yoengs" orchestra, which leads me to believe he had a steady gig at the famous Yoengs Chinese Restaurant at 59th & Broadway in New York. Paul Tremaines band held sway there for a time in 1930 & 31. They had a dazzling marquee there, near Madison Square Garden. I'd like to know what other bands played there after Al Friedman left! That was a real "Go to" spot in the late twenties!

Is that the place that Tom Stacks (Harry Reser Vocalist+drummer) died in when he ran back in to get his drums as it burned down?
@@Bigband78 Wow, that's an awesome story! I hate to hear that good old Tom Stacks came to a sad end like that! The only fire on the east coast I've heard about is the Coconut Grove Ballroom that claimed many lives in the forties.
The other sad fire in NY was the 1929 Pathe film studio curtain fire that spread to the dressing rooms and killed all the chorus girls, soon after they made the Ginger Rogers talkie short called "Girls Dormitory".
