  • Over the last two decades, the spectrum of music in the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa has broadened to include a greater variety of musical styles. Historically, we have a strong culture of traditional church and classical music, and much effort has gone into developing this music, both as a means of worship in divine services, and for concert purposes. Today we value this classical heritage, and we strive not only to preserve it, but to grow it.
In addition to classical music, we started to include lighter and more contemporary music in our concert programmes as well as our published repertoire for choirs and congregations. In this way, a greater variety of musical styles could be employed for the purpose of worshipping God and expressing faith. It gives worshippers who have different musical tastes, the opportunity to worship God with music for which they have a particular affinity.
By broadening our spectrum of music, we are able to embrace diversity in the expression of our worship without compromising the object of our worship, namely the triune God.
This performance was part of the 'O Happy day' gospel concert held in February 2014 at the Silvertown Auditorium in Athlone, Cape Town.
Composed by: Robert Ray; orch. Keith Christopher
    Soloist: Jimmie Earl Perry (1951 - 2018)
Choir & Orchestra of The New Apostolic Church Southern Africa
    Conducted by: Brandon Phillips
