    Best video I've watched on this integration. It's been the least complicated and yet most effective.

    Heck Yes!!! Much appreciated. I've watched a couple hours of other Zotero - Obsidian integrations and downloaded templates and was only getting the citekey in a new note. I thought maybe the integration was broken.... But your explanation and template file actually Works! Thank you!!

    Zotero actually is local storage first, so storage not necessarily is a cost if you collect a lot of PDF's.

    Thanks for taking the time to document this, Professor - I’m now getting to a place where I am starting to need industrial-strength infrastructure to manage the emerging torrents of info. Have you spent any time looking at the IBM’s watsonx platform, SNAP framework, or Garage methodology to inspire/inform your travels? (I’m a novice on these topics, but there’s some information scent there, and might be informative.)

      @@synapticlabs - I spent a little time researching my idea, and it wasn't too encouraging (sorry if I started any goose-chasing :-)).. It did get my thinking moving toward how to scale Obsidian and plugins in order to make it consumable by other Azure or AWS services like BLOB storage (for backup or shared access) and Azure Logic Apps to automate workflow where new or updated notes that are synched to the Obsidian vault trigger some other actions (or some other workflow tool like Zapier).

    It works good, thanks for sharing - got one question, what do I need to look into if I create myself a pdf file (just with word and use print pdf). I drag that file into Zotero, but when I try to import it into Obsidian it does not work as a normal scientific article.

    hey, thanks a lot for that video - tried other setups which didn't really work for me, but this was really helped me. one question: is there a way, to import a list of the authors (in the best case only of the first three or so) under one bullter point in my metadata? so that I get: "Authors:
    - [[Author 1]]
    - [[Author 2]]
    - [[Author 3]]" - somethink like that?

      Ooooh that’s a good question. When I have some time I’ll mess around but I’m sure it’s possible. Use ChatGPT to help you figure it out.

    Thank you, Professor Synapse. Very useful. One question. What if I add new annotations on zotero after I imported? Is there a easy way to update the annotations on Obsidian?

    • @synapticlabs
      @synapticlabs  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes you just have to reimport and it should append everything. There might be a setting you need to switch on or off but it works!

    when you import to obsidian can it import the entire article, instead of just highlights, annotations, or selections.

      I’m honestly not sure you would probably need to highlight the entire thing or just copy and paste the whole article in after you import

    thanks for this great video ! unfortunately as with the many other templates I've tried, it works partially for me. The annotations and images are missing and I did exactly as you did, used the same version of bibtex, used same template in obsidian. It seems only import notes work so I have tried on many pdf's with annotations only or with annotations dragged in notes but still no annotations or images. Any idea why it doesn't work ?

      Oy it’s hard to tell unless I can see. No promises but take some screen shots of your template, the settings and what going on and send it to connect2synapse@gmail.com
