The 3070 can utilize FSR 3 FG, which has been modded into other games like skyrim and elden ring. I have used FSR 3 FG in skyrim and did not notice all that much artifacting along with minimal input latency. FSR 3 FG also works on the 4060. The 2nd thing is 3070 sports the same DLSS support as the 4060. You also don't mention that DLSS FG requires more vram and the 4060's paltry 8gb of vram is a massive downgrade from the 3060's 12gb. The entire reason the 4060 is so ''efficient'' is because its not really a xx60 class GPU, its a glorified 4050ti. You also should note the 3070 isn't that inefficient. You can lock it to ~160-170w and it'll perform similar to the 4060ti 8gb. The 3070's higher bandwidth will also help it out in VR games since bandwidth is the name of the game. Lastly, that DLSS FG requires high base frame rate to work. Meaning the 3070 with FSR 3 FG can produce better results than the 4060 since its a good 20-25% faster, thus smoother base frame rates. The 3070 can also handle RT better and you can make it run more games at 60fps without even using FG. The point is, the 4060 is a lie and a pathetic card. AI does not make up for the fact its weak, overpriced and vram limited. The real 4060 would be the 4060ti but with 192bit bus and 12gb of vram. 4070 would be the real 4060ti.
I would appreciate some advice on my PC build. So on Amazon, you can find a 3070 for around $320 bucks but it's used (my budget is $740) and with all the parts including the GPU, it is $704.43. should I get a 4060 new or a 7600xt new or keep the 3070.
Hot take, none of the above. You can find RTX 3080s for around $350, and sometimes, even lower of you look on Facebook Marketplace. If you can't find one, then I'd stick to the 3070, but that's your call
@@PC.ustoms It's not a fair fight when you say 4060 with dlls frame gen is faster than 3070 without any kind of dlls. Make it fair and compare them with everything off and then everything on
@Hardsky5123 I mean yeah, but I tested with both off, and then the 4060 with it on. The DLSs 3.0 was more to highlight the added bonus of AI, and less to do with how dlss in general affects game play. Think of it as bonus content. The main point was to compare the raw data between the 3070 and 4060 and the 3070 trampled the 4060.
I have a 4060 x 13700f and I was Averaging 300fps with DLSS quality and RT on at 1080p on Spiderman remastered. I can see the limitations though when playing games like Jedi Survivor. My game will crash on any Frame gen setting other than balanced or quality. Now Im thinking about just waiting for the 5070 to come out, the 4070 super is also super tempting. But its obvious the 4060 is limited when it comes to DLSS

First off, thanks for the comment. 1: The games I chose were 4 random games that I like to play, so it wasn't 4 games that didn't care. 2: At the end of the video, I straight up said that the 3070 is a better card. There is a reason I sold the 4060, and kept the 3070 for my personal rig. 3: Frame gen helps a LOT. And while yeah, in some titles, it won't beat the 3070, I the 3 titles I tested that worked, it definitely did. Thanks again for the comment, if you wouldn't mind, please go back and remove the profanity, as I am trying to build a safe community of people who enjoy computers like I do.
Also, as for the other cards, you are right, all of those would be better options. I just happened to have both cards sitting arround, and thought that it might be interesting to compare the 2.
Also also, I definitely was having a CPU bottleneck, as another commenter noticed. That's on me. I'll test at higher resolutions in the future to help mitigate that.
@@PC.ustoms thanks for confirming, and iam not hating on you, but hating on the people who bought this card on their first build. Yeah point 1 makes little sense, he goes over the settings well. Point 2, absolutely. In Forza 5 it definitely looks odd to see a 4060 pull the same real frames as a 3070... @PC.customs if you run a test with lower resolution but same 'settings' (720p ultra) and see no FPS increase that means you have a CPU bottleneck in that particular title with those particular settings. Dropping the quality settings like AA, shadows and reflection should then increase the FPS (just to make extra sure it's a cpu bottleneck). In which case you could opt to remove the benchmark since it doesn't show relevant data about the GPUs (except the dlss increase?) or choose to show them but mention you've found this benchmark was CPU bottlenecked.
