Wow, Savannah...you remind me so much of myself 5 years ago. I was 21, going through a breakup with the first man I loved. It was an awful but beautiful experience. Awful because I lost someone I loved who I truly thought was meant for me and with that, the pain is almost unbearable at times. Beautiful because it made me so aware of how important it was to love myself regardless of whether he loved me. I took time to grow up and embrace all the ways I grew and matured through that experience. I am married now to an amazing man who I share a beautiful daughter with. Unfortunately one day, she will have her heartbroken-those sort of things are inevitable. I will makes sure that she knows how important it is to continue loving herself and remaining positive, just as you have. Everyday my family reminds me of how grateful I am that I was let go by someone who wasn't right for me. So I agree, everything does happen for a reason. It’s really sad that as soon as change happens people think it’s something within the relationship. Of course people get used to each other over time and things don’t always stay the same, you go through so many changes and experiences with each other that nothing is gonna be the same. Love is taken for granted and honestly I respect them for ending things on a good note. Who said breaking up is a bad thing? Sometimes people just need to focus on themselves and their future and their paths and sometimes it doesn’t work and sometimes it would just be better to not be with each other for that purpose. Sometimes you gotta ask is this a healthy prospering relationship and relationships aren’t easy but respect for them to tell us their business when they didn’t have to and as well for being mature about it.
