When I was 6 I learned what "present"(as in present series) meant through watching an episode of a TV show. Today I came across this and now I know what show it was. How weird that a fragment of memory from 35 years ago comes back by chance!
I remember the Bay City Rollers. I was eleven in 1976. Much simpler world but tougher in some ways. No where to get help when bullied. People were content with much less than we have today
@Feisty1967 Thanks for yout input: 'Lame' sums it up very nicely. Come to think of it, the same description would fit much of ITVs childrens TV output at the time.
Aged 6, I was just six and halfway through infant school at the time. Don't think I saw or heard of this programme. Sharon and Tracey in their adolescence, before domestic disarray struck (a thin Sharon in those days!) This sort of thing isn't my kind of viewing.
They'll put Take That to shame when they announce they're reforming. They'll be no stadium in the UK big enough to take the capacity that'll want to listen to this crap. Were the girls in the audience ordered to act like this like they are in North Korea.

Love this
I remember this.
the band were called Flintlock
Pauline's Quirkes was brilliant. Cheers for posting this. Have you got any more?
Nice to see a band that could play their instruments. Mike Holloway was a really good drummer and the singer was a looker!
I don't recall this as Anglia one of the some regions didn't take it because of the sexual innuendo

Flintlock even have a Wikipedia entry: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flintlock_(musical_group)
Did this come before or after 'You Must Be Joking'?I used to watch that but I can't remember this, it look nowhere near as funny....
after :)
They had Led Zeppelin quaking in their boots.
Yeah, but they were all about 14. Apparently they made a lot of money too. Mike Holoway bought a huge country house in Essex on the proceeds.
In competition with tiswas?
I can't remember anything about the show except Flintlock, though I can't for the life of me remember any of their songs.
I meant the sax player and singer!!
@flicker66 Many thanks. It does seem that Flintlock were an even smaller 'flash in the pan' than the Bay City Rollers.
120 million World wide sales for BCR - some flash in the pan!
Brilliant!
3:35 Linda Robson
eating the logo!?
@kieran196 lol yeah Mary Whitehouse had a fit!
Well, that was awful! Can’t believe such things were commissioned for broadcast.
She used to spend the whole programme trying to get them to take their trousers off from what I remember.
And this was a programme supposedly for children
It’s like they couldn’t get the definition correct of a children’s programme back then.
swat the flies Derek........
fit
@CraigG1960 One time they did strip down to their underwear & all hell broke lose!
