I bought Double Good Basmati, and it was the best of all rice I have tasted, I tried Daawat, Kohinoor, and all before trying Double Good Basmati, there is a lot of difference in taste.

I am not sure your price is correct today I purchased 1121 extra long rice 8LBS (around 3.63 kg) for CAD $8 which comes around 460 INR , if this is the price in Canada definitely it will be cheap in India/ pakistan
We bought the rice at rate that has been mentioned in the video. 1121 is Indian variety of Basmati rice developed by PUSA ( doubt it will be available in Pakistan). They have their own varieties.
If you got the in Basmati in that price that means you lucky. In our experience too, we have purchased Basmati rice in Europe too. We found out then it was cheaper than the price of basmati in India.

Thanks for the video. I tried, Dawat Ultima, india gate excel basmati, kitchen king basmati, kohinoor gold, kohinoor silver, Tilda, Royal Basmati, zebra basmati, Aahu Barah basmati, Lal Qilla tradjtional basmati. But somehow couldn't find Typical basmati rice fragrance while cooking which we used to get before all these branded rice came to market. Are these all 1121? Is shreelalmahal empire better basmati?
Which branded rice are of 370, 385 variety?

Broadly your query has two questions:
1) You are searching for fragrant basmati Rice as you couldn't find specific aroma after trying several brands- as you used to get earlier (probably in your childhood/teens ) or say 15-20 years ago. We feel it as more of psychological issue rather than aroma itself. Let us put our words regarding this- Human beings are adaptive to the environment since we have been consuming basmati for so many years we have lost sense of aroma unless it is very distinctive. We are also surrounded by various aromas (soaps, dishwashers, air-purifiers, duos and so on) which were far less 10-15 years back.
As per various rice researches Tilda and Golden Harvest are among most sensory pleasing rice.
All brands that are marketed as traditional are traditional basmati not 1121.
2) As per our understanding Basmati 370 and Basmati 386 is one of the oldest and traditional basmati. We are not 100% sure which leading brands packet basmati 370 or Basmati 386. As per our opinion (we are not confirmed) Dawat, kohinoor, Tilda’s pure and finest and traditional are Basmati 370 and Medium grain of Basmati such Dawat’s devaaya, 24 Mantra’s medium grain basmati are basmati 386.
Aroma is an issue for us too, we are also missing our childhood aroma of basmati. Nowadays we find Kala Namak rice (small to medium non-basmati) is the most fragrant rice

@@everydaylife9207 you are wrong on that front the aroma used to be such if it was being made in your house you could smell it few houses away. What has changed is the rice. Earlier it was cheaper to grow without pesticides and manufactured fertilizers. It was regular way of growing food now it is called organic. These pesticides and artificial fertilizers kill all the bacteria, worms and other living beings in the soil. There is a rich ecosystem in the soil. They pick up minerals in soil and eat them and process them to a slightly different versions not the minerals and also change the PH values of the soil. This enables the plants to better absorb the minerals and extract them from soil easily. It is these minerals which are responsible for taste and smell. Different rice varieties absorb these differently. The long growing season of old rices ie nearly 5+ months vs 3 months makes the difference too in taste and aroma.
We as a society have comitted murder of our heritage . Other countries preserve their heirloom products here in India the govt forced farmers to stop growing the old basmati to promote the double yeild half growing time half height new height basmati because it wanted to earn more money in foreign exchange. Thus our heritage is so lost that my farmer friends who grow 300 bhiga basmati do not even know or bother about the old basmati . Such is the lack of respect for our heritage.

hello, thank you for your interesting videos. I just bought some lal qilla extra long basmati, as there’s extra long daawat, tilda, and many other brands. what « serial number » are those basmati? and what’s your opinion about them?
What do mean by serial number? numbers like 1121. Isn't?
1121 is one of longest grain of basmati rice that was developed by PUSA. However, if rice packet indicates traditional or original or authentic then its traditional or original grains. Other wise it hybrid variety. Extra long could be anything traditional or hybrid. Rice brands do not mention much about their variety.

Basmati rice comes in nearly 32 different varieties in India.

Please compere Double Good Dehradun basmati VS Indra dev basmati both are organic. All these other branded basmatis are externally perfumed after the extra long grained rice reach the rice mills. We should buy organic basmati rice from Dehradun where organic basmati rice is grown.

Har chawal ka banane ka tarika thora alag hota hain. Basmati ko 15-20 minutes achche se wash karke soak karna padta hain. Fir use patile me banane ke liye 100 gm chawal me 250 ml pani dal kar pakaye.
Chawal khile khile banege. Yadi aur flavour dena chahte hain toh usme 1 teaspoon desi ghee dal de.

R S Pura is a region under jammu district that is popular for basmati rice. Various variety of basmati rice such as Pusa1121, Pusa 2511 and traditional are being cultivated in that area. Hence, you need to check the label of basmati rice packet what exactly it indicates.
Area/location doesn't provide assurance of original or hybrid.

प्रति क्विंटल 58-62 kg साबुत चावल व 4-5 kg टूटे चावल (कनकी) निकलते हैं,
चावल एकदम फ्री में निकलते है कोई पैसा नहीं लगता सिर्फ धान को 2-3 दिन धूप में सुखाया जाता हैं,
कुल मिलाकर धान से चावल बनने में कोई लागत नहीं आती धान के छिलके के बदले मे पूरे भारत मे चावल निकलता है,तो कृपया मील की लागत को आप न समझाए क्यूंकि 2500₹ में 60kg चावल तो हमारे भी निकल जाते हैं बिना किसी और लागत के।
जिसमे चावल का मूल्य 42-45₹ per kg से ज्यादा नहीं पड़ता।

जैसा आपने कहा हर किसी को अपने व्यापार में मूल्य तय करने का हक है काश किसान को भी यह हक होता।
ख़ैर हर साल लगभग 70 क्विंटल 1121 व 30 क्विंटल 1509 मुंजि (धान) हमारे होती है।
जो कि इस साल भी हमने क्रमशः 2810 ₹ व 1950 ₹ प्रति क्विंटल के हिसाब से मंडी में बेची है।
अगर अगले साल 1121 धान 3000 के भाव भी रहा और ए 1 क्वालिटी का चावल आधा भी निकला तब भी 60₹ किलो मिल जाएगा आसानी से।
अगर भाव 3000 ₹ तक रहा तो, और मैंने इसमें लगभग 10kg टूटे हुए चावल व किनकी नहीं जोड़ी है।
और सबसे अच्छा तो है कि किसी भी किसान से डायरेक्ट धान खरीदो और मशीन से निकलवा लो, बस थोड़ा सुखाने का झंझट है,
बाकी अगर सैला चावल चाहिए तो काफी मील भी है जो कुछ मूल्य लेकर आपके धान को पका कर पक्का चावल भी निकाल देती हैं।
भाई तो फिर तुम अपने धान क्यों इतने सस्ते में क्यों बेचते हो ?
