    Pre G: Man, this game is so generous, I can build almost every single deck I could want in most cases for free.
    Post G: GS: So, we realized we weren’t profiting enough so here’s all these paywalls, and we’re reducing the overall quality. Wait, why are we losing so many players?

    ZERO died for me when we couldn't save packs anymore. i continued to play, just with the realisation that as I didn't want to spend a lot, I just would never have a proper complete deck in the G era. I had the most fun with this game in the period between the start of the break ride era to the end of legion.

    as an elementary student, I have always wanted to try chaos, brawlers, shihai, or gurguit. now that I’m in high school, playing those pre-g decks I’ve never had the chance to with little to no money spent is basically a dream come true. But when g, the thing I was looking forward to the most, became pay to play big time, it was as if my whole world went mute. zero has been great at the beginning. But G era is just sad

    I made a "state of Vanguard Zero" last year and tried to make another one this year but I just couldn't edit /upload it cause it was just me being negative.
    I also made a video last year reflecting on my 2nd year with vanguard zero and it was just really a bummer cause i didnt have alot of good to say compared to the first year.
    Im glad you managed to upload this so I can vent vicariously through you as you went over alot of the frustrations I had , and continue to have right now where I barely play the game anymore.
    As someone that started with vanguard with Zero...I was super excited to experience G. But Zero subsequently put me on G and then turned me off from it completely.
    Sometimes Zero turns me off from Vanguard as a whole, but at least standard/overdress has kept me around.
    I've tried to remain as positive as I can with Zero this year; I even made it a goal to try and enjoy this year "as if it was the last" and try and document any good moments I had. So that when I made my "3rd Year with Vanguard Zero" video I could have alot of good memories to talk about. I also made a new f2p account so I can try making tutorials for the game and seeing what its like as new players atm. The videos the helped out some new players; but honestly I hope they enjoyed Zero and moved on to any of the other outlets to play the game at this point.
    The Vanguard Zero global account was interactive last year...but they have suddenly gone pretty silent unfortunately.
    They helped me enjoy the game alot when they were active cause it felt like there was some support from the creators and it wasn't as lonely to play Zero.
    But i feel like they were told to dial it back or something. I feel it was after they asked for like suggestions/frustrations the community had on twitter, and well it didn't go so well.
    Im just tired and crushed. I wanna live in a world where Zero isnt the butt of vanguard jokes. Where I and everyone else can have fun again. Where I dont feel scummy trying to pitch the game to friends.
    Sorry for venting for some much.

    I think one big thing that no one ever talks about because there seems to always be bigger issues is how poorly optimized the game feels. If you’ve played for a long time you kind of just get used to it but I don’t think it’s something that that we should have to get used to. Everything you do feels so sluggish and unresponsive. The menus and ui that are outside of the gameplay feel miserable to interact with. I used to sometimes reroll some of my daily quests just because I did not want to go through 3 loading screens to change my pfp. Ik this isn’t the most pressing concern in zero that needs to be fixed right away but I still think it is not ok that the game has run like this for so long.

    G era was the beginning of the end for me. They chose to do their pack systems like Duel Links does. On paper that doesn't sound too bad because if you pull the whole box, then you are guaranteed to pull everything in it. I remember times in pre G where I would keep pulling the same set (around 100 packs) and not get a RRR I need. But in practice, I had a harder time building G decks then I did building pre G decks. I have enough RRR for at least good builds of 14 different clans throughout the game. I had meta decks for Gold Paladins, Shadow Paladins, Royal Paladins, and Kagero (to name a few). I have spent zero dollars on the game and every season I only played rank till I got the free 10 packs and reached around Legend 10 (20 if things were going well). During the first set of G, when they gave you a good amount of packs, it was really good as I could get 4 of each RRR and around 2 of the GR that I need. I built both Royal Paladin, Gear Chronical, and Kagero from that first set. Then the second set came and the amount of free packs got split between set 2 and set 1. I could not build anything from set 2 because most decks you need at least 2 of a GR and 1 of the other GR. The amount of packs was nowhere comparable to set 1 and made it impossible to build anything without spending. At that time I thought it was fine because even during pre G, there are some sets where I don't pull because I didn't like anything in it. Now I see that this was a red flag for what is to come. The only decks I have been able to build in G is Gold paladins, Kagero, and Genesis. It might seem like very little but I did stop playing for a few sets and before I stopped playing, I played very little. I think the biggest problem with the box system is that you need 4 copies of a card rather than 3. In YGO, you can only play three copies of a card while in Vanguard you can play four. So if you want a playset of a GR, you would potentially need to go into a box 4 times which is around 400 packs(I know there are 150 per box but usually you would not need to go through an entire box for one card). Duel Links however does not have a crafting system. But crafting a GR cost 5000 materials. That's absurd. It should have only cost around 3000 and even then its a lot. Needing to go into a box so many times and having crafting be a non-viable alternative, making a complete deck is basically impossible without spending. The worst thing in box system is that you cannot save packs. Why save pack tickets when every set has its own pack ticket that doesn't carry over between sets. It was heartbreaking to see that the packs other people saved from pre G doesn't allow them to pull G boxes. Why do we need separate pack tickets for every box? It's because then you can save enough to pull for 4 of every GR in a box without spending. On average I have around 80 pack tickets every month during pre G. If I only pull from every 5th set, I should be able to build every deck in that set (with some crafting for GR). I would have been fine with that because I only want to play Gold Paladins and I can build whatever else is in a set together with it. But now I pull around 80 from each box and it's not enough to build anything. That was why I quit. I couldn't build anything without selling my liver and a taking a mortgage on the house I don't have or spending months grinding to build a few decks.
    Don't get me started on clan events.

    As a F2P, getting those stride spheres for G4s are really tough, since G started I'm yet to fully complete 2 decks, getting packs from quests are nice, but gems are non-existent.
    I used to also play LoR (which is also on mobile), and after a week or two of just playing, I get enough crafting materials to build a full deck.

I tried to play the g series when it came out but it slowly became harder to do

  • @dittoismetamon

    I remember starting out during the middle of the limit break era where they would put out clan specific banners which allowed you to pull cards from a single clan, which it made it much easier to collect the crafting materials you wanted to build decks. They stopped doing this sometime in the break ride era and at that point it was a gamble on whether or not you could complete the decks you wanted because now you're risking getting crafting materials from other clans you don't care about. Removing this banner was honestly the first major red flag of the game going down hill for me. I understand why they did it from a monetary perspective, but things just never got better after that.

The play system was unique, the crafting system was near perfect and I genuinely loved that game and the A.I character I got paired with. I did open it again for some events, which I just had to do as a big RumLab fan. Was very sad when they first appeared and I noticed how much I actually have to pay to get them as skins. luckily at least an event had skins for them, but in the end, I again couldnt manage to get something going to actually enable me to grind out the decks, that I wanted to play, so I just stopped again.

    I think you hit the nail on the head with the two main reasons why I didn't carry on with Zero, time and money. Far too much of both had to be spent to keep up. I only played classic, limit break and a small amount of break ride to upgrade my Ezel deck with Ezel Scissors, but long term the game was simply not enticing enough for me with how grindy and expensive it became later on.
    I enjoyed the doses of nostalgia the game provided me during the pandemic and I had alot of fun with playing Ezel during limit break and break ride, but that was about it for me with Zero.

    Hey DF! Just wanted to give my input since this definitely seems to be a touchy topic.
    Currently I'm a bit of an avid Digimon player, and I've moved away from traditional vanguard quite a bit in the past year since Overdress started. I'm still not the biggest fan of the direction the game is going, but that's another topic for another day.
    My main point is, I absolutely adore your Deck and Fight videos. It's by far one of my favorite video formats that you provide, and I find myself going back to old ones just to see the content again because it's super fun to watch! Point being, even though I played Zero for about the first year it was out, I noticed quickly that grinding and saving packs was getting very tedious for a free to play player, and so I almost felt like I was living vicariously through someone like you who pays to play, and can actually make a bunch of different decks, as silly as that sounds. I absolutely LOVE watching the content and seeing you make the deck and fights, but I also know how much of a grind this game is. Just figured I'd throw my two cents in there, and I hope that they make some changes to keep the game alive and going, but as pay to win as it is, that's the main reason I haven't touched the game in so long.
    Either way, love your content brother as always!

    Vanguard zero was just unforgiving once g era released you literally had to use youre resources soooo precisely because of how weird the box system was. And oh my stars the prices to be a p2play player was literally so costly that it could probably sustain a family for 3 to 5 months…

    I agree with everything that was said in this video however i would like to point out that the main thing that im pissed about is how sloppy the UI is. Like you move from the rank screen to the home page loading and literally every single time just waiting for the loading screen. Bugs are more frequent, you can't craft a card in the deck builder so you have to build the deck remember the cards you put into said deck and craft it there. Also i still dont know how they didnt fix this in 2 and bit years if you have a good internet connection it doesn't matter you will still lose because the game decided 'oh your internet is bad, here's a game loss'. Forget the money-grabbing thing, but checking if the game functions is simple to make sure you have a good product to market.

    Couple of things.
    1) I only play zero on the global servers
    2) I started around the time when grade 4s were introduced in link joker era.
    3) Outside of Zero, my only official way to play vanguard is with the few friends who play vanguard or in dear days.
    4) I got into vanguard through zero.
    I ended up joining this game through two online friends I had met through the duel links community. I ended up doing all the challenge fights and I fell in love with liberators, and revengers for my first few decks. I ended up finishing liberators around a set or 2 before g and I finished revengers right as g began. I had also managed to fall in love with link joker, novas, and nubatama but I didn’t have the full support to play those decks on ladder. G rolls around in JP and the people who got me in were giving me news on the game. They described how there’d still be a few clans supported in each pack but that vanguard would switch to a duel links style of opening packs in which you had a set amount of cards per box and if you went through the whole box you’d get every card at least as many times as they were in the box. I was happy about that cause I feel that’s the best way to get packs. In hindsight though it’s no where near as good as duel links as you can get a huge gem spike for leveling characters in zero. That’s ok though maybe we could still have a similar way of getting packs as we did in pre g zero with the story. That didn’t turn out to happen either. G was easily the most promising part of vanguard to me as they had shown the pack method and talked about generic materials which could be traded for clan materials which I thought was a great move. I had started to watch the vanguard anime at this point so I could familiarize myself with what g was and who the cast was. I loved g and I got really happy to see more of the cast as I had finished it around the beginning of set 2. Then around mid set two I just didn’t enjoy g cause none of the clans I wanted to play were in the game yet outside of novas so I breaker for 2 weeks. 3rd set shows up with every single bit of support I could have wanted. And it disappointed me the most. As of recently I have only just finished going through the whole box a second time. (Admittedly this is also because I had opened luard box, shiranui box, and spent the free stuff of skips and some other gems on clans) but it shouldn’t take this long to complete a box. I don’t understand why you can only use the main in game currency from the g story to only buy 5 packs of a set a month. I feel it should be however many you could afford. Along with this it doesn’t help that crafting gr units costs 5000 generic mats and a gr sp only gives you 1000 generic mats. Golds in hearthstone give you around the exact dust needed to make a normal copy of a card of the same rarity so a gold legend can craft any normal legend. That’s how it should be in zero. An sp gr should be able to be dusted to make any normal gr. On top of this because of how good grs are most of the time you need at least 2 but sometimes you need 4. This would be fine if they were easy to craft but they aren’t so you have to pull them. And if you’re trying to pull multiple grs from a box then you might not be able to get the desired amount without those strides. Ik gallop is a clan event that isn’t the best deck out there but I loved that deck and the deck felt unplayable because I only had 2 X-gallop and I needed 4.
    My next issue goes to clan events. I felt clan event s were handled amazingly pre-g. And g rolls around introducing generic materials which made me more excited as I could get the materials for clan event clans to craft the cards I had missed. That was fine. G’s first clan event shows up and I think it was novas that was fine even though you needed at least two of the gr. But it’s gotten bad to the point that not only do you need the skins to get at least 2-3 grs but if you want a fourth you need to put some gems in to get it. And that’s if the clan doesn’t get neutered at the first event or a future event. Novas were great at their first event but then I found out from your clan reviews that novas get neutered from their tcg selves when more gr novas entered this era. Then there’s also the matter of cards having the wrong text. Now I’m aware that spikes had this at some point but I’d argue that’s still better from the megacolony misprint was at their 1st event. The gr in that event read fillip up any card in the g zone to proc its effect and because of that I only picked up 1. It was only after the event when I found out it was a g-persona ability which meant my one copy was useless.
    I think g era had the great potential for zero and yet it flopped incredibly hard because it just fumbled on so many things important to people who want to stay f2p

  • @J_Arashi
    @J_Arashi Рік тому +1

    I think the worst is that zero is treating the G era just like the traditional card game where they made GR's that needed 2 copies to play. And while I hated that at least you could trade with other players. Zero is a game where there is no trading, now you are what your wallet will allow. Personally I don't understand why they didn't take liberties to make changes to they way cards work in zero. When i played VG I was a NG and DP player and while control has always been a problem, just smack them in the face harder and you could overcome that, but zero makes your cards much more precious that losing your g2 ( your only defense by the way ) before an attack makes the deck unplayable. They could of added in more resist to balance the game because aggro clans don't have that advantage, and a lot of the effects were "when you attack vanguard". well a RG can't attack the VG until you wasted 2 attacks first which hurts momentum, and only a few decks could restand/ replace that wasted attack

  • @AquaDreiger
    @AquaDreiger Рік тому +1

    My gripe with zero now days is the 'too much materials needed to craft even something' which is a problem for my self since i like to build multiple decks but all the triple rares that you would need and my god the amount of GR needed to have a decently built deck started to get annoying as time went on and also that i don't play like every single day because the ranked feels either boring or my skill level is not enough to rank up so fast and i all ways struggle with being stuck at like rank 2/3 to maybe 5 if i feel like playing
    this again is probably also my part since i have noticed my self that when ever i play on ranked and when i make a some kind of combo (about any G that that require it or then on my end, Bermuda Triangle) i have little time left to go to battle phase and even attack before timer stops me and when it comes back to my turn i have only 2 bars of time left and i can't do much of anything:
    TL:DR i'm way too slow on doing the combos or i do too many and lose cuz timer (there were times i had to think of a few seconds on what i could do but that appeared to take "too long time")
    and one more thing i don't like is the price increase that they did for the EU (any else can confirm that they did this also to America and or other country, let me know) buying gems became more expensive and then the Super Decks doubled in price at first i didn't want to buy too because i wanted to save some money but i wanted to buy the G Super Decks just so i could build some decks and play them but i don't want to pay the 64,99€ (i hope i remember correctly) just for the half deck so i had stopped playing zero for a while now or should i say in this case almost completely :/

    I'm on global servers. I really love your videos and vanguard as a whole, started playing global since pre-release for Singapore in April 2020 and have never slacked since. Sure, UI had been upgraded and whatnot for G, new crafting system able to accept it and then got hyped for strides. But few months in, got occupied with school and other activities as world reopened and restrictions for COVID loosened and had basically no time to play ranked. Every month was just clearing events, pulling packs and raising FICA lvls (currently 228), a never lasting chore. Then recently, everything went downhill with the addition of shiranui for me. Before that, I still had the opportunity to try out dark irregulars, scharrot and other decks I hadn't had the umm 'pull' to play during pre G. Heck I could still play bluish flames and break ride golds which I mained back then for fun. But ever since Shiranui, it's just basically gather resources, stall for GB 3 or higher, dominate everything and exodia win. I guess this was the final straw for me. Planning on quitting soon as I can neither enjoy ranked nor the feeling of trying out cards and decks without missing out on rewards for not clearing events and missions. Just hope that I can still get into D format in the future and that you will continue in making great videos on vanguard with your enthusiasm and love for the game. Thanks Kris. I'm genuinely grateful I play on the global side and not JP. I've been playing since release and the rapid decline since entering G has been heart-breaking. I'm mostly free to play, I think I've spent like £50 max over those 3 years, but I've sunk so many hours into this to be able to keep up. The playmats and the long term bonuses really helped with longevity of the game. Last September felt like the wild west in ranked because suddenly everyone had resources to make/finish decks and people were excited again. It's unfortunately gone back to feeling relatively stale. The introduction of teams was a great idea initially, and we used to hold regular tournaments between like 8 of us in discord. Now there's like 3 of us keeping things alive. It's so sad now. I know at some point

    Something that I miss from early to mid Zero is when you would hit the gacha banners during special times and receive medals that you could then exchange for a RRR or RR. If I remember correctly you could exchange for any RRR or RR from any banner instead of just one (typically it's the most recent one). I believe it was 50 medals for one RRR and 10 medals for a RR. This was amazing, especially in global where you had a good idea of when this would happen since they often just copied whatever JP did back then with little to no changes. I remember saving up my packs and gem and skipping sets that I didn't care for just so I could spend a good amount on the banners that gave me the medals. I completed so many decks during limit break and link joker era thanks to this like Ezel, Vermillion, Maelstrom, Liberators and more. And while I didn't play every deck consistently it was still great that the game allowed me to even build that many. I know the game has GR and RRR exchange tickets now, but you can't even get them outside of very special campaigns. Seeing how much Zero changed for the worse when it reached the G era really hurts me since Zero helped get me back into Vanguard.

    So i am an eu player (so i played global) have played from the very start of Vanguard Zero. I recently quit, i'd say about a few months ago. The one thing that for me was the deciding factor even through all the returning player bonusses and such (which imo came way too late. They kept doing player stuff for a year before even doing something for returning and only cause of backlash i think) was the stories. Before G every single story without fail gave a pack, it might not have been a usefull pack as it was set 1 i believe but it was a pack you could use to grind tokens or at least have some fun opening so everyone could have a good start. Right now they give vp points.. wow. and only 1 pack a battle, sometimes you had to read through like 7 stories to get one singular pack.
    This game especially around G became money hungry and grabby. They knew they had a player base and were gonna cache in. As differentFight said, the GR's . 5K... 5k for one card which would take f2p people MONTHS to get. Even with the clan events due to the skins or short period we would barely be able to get 1 GR for like 30k tokens or points or whatever it was.. it was so clear that they didn't care for the gaming experience but only wanted money. Those apps never survive long and i have to agree it probably will close after G and at this point i am going to say good riddance. When they tried it always felt after backlash alone, and then they did too little too late. Else they didn't care at all.

    In my experience, even if a game has separate servers for Japanese and global, if the Japanese servers shut down, the global ones go with it (like with Tales of Link). The only ones I know where the game continues is when the global server shuts down but the Japanese server keeps going (Tales of the Rays, a3). This is why I generally play the Japanese server if I'm playing a game with both, but with Vanguard Zero I had to go global because my Japanese reading speed just isn't fast enough to both learn how to play and get my turns in with the timer. I did eventually make a Japanese server account, but didn't actively play it until Blaster Blade Exceed released, because by then I'd made the jump to TCG and it was the one deck I had enough of the card effects memorized to pilot it by memory lol.
    I actually miss card abilities having animations - one of the reasons I really like playing the Exceed deck is because I can run Blaster Blade in it so I can at least get some of the same experience I did when I started in early Break Ride. I remember playing Break Ride Liberators for the first time and thinking it was *the* coolest thing ever that Blaster Blade Liberator's retire was just this enormous sword you dropped on your opponent's unit - I definitely miss that when I use Exceed's retire. Also a minor thing - but it annoyed me a little that we got the Exceed deck but no updated Aichi skin to go with it (or if they aren't planning on it, update Aichi's existing skins to at least have a Ride line). There's a certain level of "... really?" when you go into Exceed and you don't even get a Ride line. Speaking of fight skins - I really don't like how all the clan event boosted fight skins are for pay *only*, and not only that, you have to have the specific version *of* that fight skin. Not only does it make it less f2p friendly (and I'm saying this as a global whale, even though I've also lost all motivation to keep spending now that my favorite G-era deck's out lol) it just makes the seasonal fight skins feel pointless. I really wish they'd made it so "(insert character here)'s fight skins are boosted for this event, regardless of version". Also miss the V Medals and the V Medal exchange from pre-G, I got a lot of new skins for my favorites because I liked them (and not because I needed to for clan events).
    And as for deck building? For all that I thought the box system would be an improvement ... I agree the GRs made it worse. I can't imagine actually trying to pull together a deck from scratch now; I went "hard mode" by setting my sights on a Break Ride Liberator deck for my very first deck in Zero, but that one I managed to complete with all the free packs I got just for making an account (along with some good timing starting right before Aichi's birthday so I got to jump start the deck with pulls on a Gold Paladin-only banner) and the ease with which I was able to collect materials for crafting. Now? I think if I hadn't been so invested going into G (along with being determined to keep playing until Exceed released) I probably would've dropped the game months ago.
    I guess over all what I'd say is if the first series content felt like a game that was made with some degree of love for both the fans and the content as a whole, then G-era just feels like they're phoning it in and giving you the bare minimum while nickel and diming you for every little extra, and it just feels empty. I do agree global's doing a better job of trying to mitigate that with the play mats and long time player rewards, but I honestly can't remember the last time I logged into my Japanese account.

    I only play in Eng. and just slowed down almost to a halt this month. If they rework Zero to be a mobile version of Vanguard Dear Days(by that, I mean faithful to the original rules of the game like 50 card deck, blocking, no hand size limit, and at least the same crafting) only with the G-Era cards and make it a way to play the OG rules(Premium w/o V-era and D-era cards), I'd probably play it more. One of the other thing is the lack of variety of opponents, but that can be said with most TCG with a meta game. Recently it's only Shiranui, Luard, Blademaster and with a sprinkle of Blaster Blade and Altimile once it a while which I don't mind as much but it feels like I'm fighting with an A.I. sometimes and can see their moves already (this could be fixed with guarding from hand aside from heals and PGs). My other qualm is the deck size and hand size as 50-75% of the time if the game reached turn 6-7 I deck out with my OTT witches, Battle Sisters, Pacifca, Riviere, and Tsukoyomi and with the max hand size, OTT feels lackluster.

However my breaking point was the Coral stride in set 8 I believe and I spent soooo much money on that and I had to go to the bottom of the box nearly every time for Coral, after that I quit. • @LivingShadow35
    @LivingShadow35 2 роки тому +1

    The game went downhill since G Era started but it does make the game more fun but the negative side is way more than positive.
    The first being the new gacha system. The positive side being getting the card you want at a higher to guerrented RRR cards. But the fact they implement each set having specific packs really made the game more grindier than normal. It got so bad to the point you had no choice but to pay gems to complete these decks.
    The second one being GR craft cost. While it is expected we need to use a lot of mats to craft but what we didn't expect is the facts, the cost to craft them is way more expensive than normal. To add insult, craft just one normal GR cost 5k mats. The same cost to craft an SP version of them. And to add more salt, deconstructed an SP GR only gives 1k meaning it isn't worth it to craft in the.
    The third being unfair towards certain clans (basically change cards effect to either buff or nerf). While I agree with their decision to nerf or buff some of the cards because of how the game works. They decide to give a simple slap on the wrist for gacha clans while shoot the knee caps of event clans. For example, take Victor. While the Asura Mond combo was a nightmare and make Novas tier 1, they decide to make all the cards for Victor become on hit effect which really hurt the deck so much that they don't have a good way to end the game while clans like Pale Moon and Royals are able to rush better than them. The other being is that clan event cards will have an emergency nerf when they become too good but they will let gacha clans be way overpowered than normal for a season or two before nerfing them. And some of them are not nerf yet.
    The third, F2P killer. Like previously said, G Era have become more P2P than F2P. It's because you get less packs before G era started and trying to grind them really takes more time than you normally play. And to make matter worse, trying to exchange this pack only gives you a small amount which really makes those precious time farming wasted.
    Fourth, ridiculous price on their store. You think a digital card game only charge a couple bucks to buy maybe a super deck or trial deck but nope you're buying them full price like you are trying to buy them full price in real life. While skin is expected to buy with real money, like G Medal. Remember they give you character skins by keeping pull cards as well but they decide to make them fully lock behind paywall

    I gotta say, before Zero came out I have never even heard about Vanguard. Since ShadyPenguinn talked a lot about Zero, I started playing it on its release day, but now that Dear Days is out, I don't have much motivation playing it..Dear Days is just much more generous in how easy it is to acquire cards..sure, the pricing of Dear Days is a factor for this and it probably still is too much, but I enjoy Dear Days a lot. You're able to play virtually every single deck, without having to invest an extreme amount of time into the game and that is, what I feel like, a huge factor for many players as you said.

    Hmmm... Personally, if there was a way to fix Zero to its prime, it needs a LOT of fixing to do. But i'll state most of it, while im at it.
    - GRs need to be cheaper. Like the best one would be 1000 SS for Normal. The 5000 SS for SP GRs is optional
    - We need a G version of V Medals. A bit of idea for me is each time you open a G Pack (Any), you can get 1 medal for each. Opening packs is already costly enough. Why add the hassle of buying for the other skins?
    - All RRRs and GRs need to have Effect Animations. Just because you think its gonna have performance issues, doesnt excuse for being lazy or depriving budget for it.
    - UI Enhancement. The Card Capital 2 feels bland, even with the amount of customization you can do. In OG, at least the Characters look very alive, even in story mode.
    - Correlating to the GR cost nerf, this will be a light excuse to perform nerfs on certain GRs that are legitimately "Broken". Looking on you, Ogma and Mujinlord... (The Mujin is more excuseable.)
    Extra Stuff:
    - We need the Q4 G Skins, and the others that are coming back. That way the G Medals are much worth the buck.
    - Dunno if its necessary, but there is a chance to do a format split between G and OG, due to how the cards are designated. Just do reruns of Event cards for OG ones (Basically 2 Ranked Categories, tho this might be too much for the game to handle.) This is especially for beginners who have high potential. However the G Ranked should have higher rewards just so the strides and G Cards are worth it.
    - As DF mentioned, Challenge Fights should be revived. Its advertisement too.
    - Ranked Reward division. Even filling the gaps (Like 900k VP) with Fighters Packs is enough if you're lazy enough. Tho some players might think it should be more G Packs.
    - Direct crafting of G RRRs and other rarities from SS mats. Less complication.
    Either way, thats so far is my opinion. What do you think should be GS and Bushi's action on this?

    Sad man. I used to play Zero JP since the first month of release as well and I do spent in the game. Was happy to play for a long time and super excited for when G came. But got mixed feeling when they replace the packs and the crafting point for GR is excruciating to see. And gems felt harder to get. Quit like few months ago before Nubatama release and start to active in Shadowverse and having fun again. Can't help but compare the two game. After playing SV again, I wish the dev could've done more for Zero. Other than the points mentioned in the video, I wish they could've done something to the Dorm/My Room. It feel very useless right now. They could have turn it into something that gives reward to player when they interact with the characters inside the Room and maybe have a intimacy/friendship level or something.

    This is a dumb thing to complain about but the total number of skins released went down like crazy! I really like cosmetics so I felt it... I honestly have no issues paying up occasionally for a skin I like, and if they wanted to milk skins then I don't get why the selection is so bare bones. We used to get supporting characters and the casual outfits of the main characters per season, but after G it was either hope for a seasonal skin or just use Tokoha in her school uniform if you don't wanna use her seasonal that day, then wait for her NEXT look! Also not adding skins for the legacy characters G looks feels like such a ridiculous fumble, I built Diablo hoping Ren would get a new skin but no one from the original series got skins (also Diablo sucks, thank god I didn't invest too much into it). I don't care that they got rid of Live2D, initially I thought it was because G has a lot of characters, but seeing Chrono and co in their school uniforms for the entire story and half the characters not even have story sprites at all, even major characters later on not having any is quite frankly embarrassing.
    Not to mention they barely make any new My Room characters. Vanguard is super character driven... I don't really care about My Room part itself but not having chibis for most of the important characters in G sucks ass, I had a bad feeling when the first update dropped and Mamoru didn't have one. I miss having a lot of character conversations to go through... there was fanservice for fans who liked the series in spades before but now you have to wait every other month for a seasonal event to get crumbs. It's sad to me. A lot of decks I built just because I like the character who used it so it makes me upset.
    I'm glad Global gave us mats because that's a very nice cosmetic that feels like it SHOULD be in the game but there is only so much Global can do and unfortunately I don't think they have so much pull when it comes to the game overall to commission new art, 3D models and voice lines from the seiyuu to make any of the content I feel like they're cutting corners on.

I was so ready to play what was essentially a reboot of the game. I played until Legend and quickly realised how predatory almost all of the systems are in the game so I stopped playing Zero at the Ultimate Break stage. Only to hop back on this year to see what they would try to rope me back in with (Turns out it was 250 packs) which I have now opened and built a full Nubatama and Blaster deck with them being in the same pack. Back then we used to play 9 draw and with g era , they is some deck runs different trigger like g0 crit like and the most banned card in tcg like tahro are running in the current deck until now on how benefits are they. G era also introduced so many cool gimmick like 0dmg playstyle (even though it toxic) but still a very creative playstyle that different in tcg. Heal guard and Backrow intercept were nice defensive option for zero mechanic. With how they treated zero rn with p2w locked , it literally struggle me to grind like f2p back then and focus on 1-2 clan now . I dont think zero would alive any longer like other past vanguard game like Stride to Victory and Vanguard EX instead i see a possible new vanguard game for v series zero version . If zero alive longer then its miracle .

    A bit of different perspective here
    Im new to VG and Zero introduce me to it, i start to play Zero a few months ago during DP event and its really hard to get a deck in Zero especially when you're new, they do gives quite bit amount of gems to new player but due to how hard it is to pull a GR its not enough.
    Gameplay wise i would say its pretty fun the game are faster than real tcg and you got these cool line in JP dub
    Have been trying the game on the switch too like DD and EX between those games i like EX more because of the art and ofc Daiyusha
    Overall I'm glad i got to play Zero even tho its a bit late because its introduce me into a fun card games that arent Shadoba or MD, i got to met new interesting people especially you because how rare its to see someone that knew or fan of Obari works these days

    Yo en lo personal siento que Bushiroad se siente muy cómodo con las ganancias que recibe y le resta importancia a los problemas del juego. No le importa aumentar su base de jugadores ni expandir el juego, es el colmo que algo tan simple como agregar diferentes idiomas al juego no lo hayan hecho, ésto aunque parezca una ridiculez es un gran muro a las personas que quieran empezar en el juego, los veteranos a veces no tenemos ni idea de como funciona bien una carta mucho menos los nuevos jugadores. Marvel Snap empezó a finales del 2022 y está en TODOS los idiomas, y apesar de lo difícil que es conseguir las cartas más fuertes, puedes ir a twitter y ver que todo el mundo lo está jugando

    Yeah, the monetisation/changes post-G really made the game impossible to approach as a f2p player:
    - No more universal packs, meaning no more massive savings until a set you like drops;
    - Skins being paid and necessary for events clans;
    - Sentinel medals being worthless for g set 1 pgs and beyond;
    - And, of course, generation rares, and their cost, and how VERY bad is to get stride orbs.

    The paywall is one thing, but for the english side there are a lot of mistranslations! They don't fix them asap as well, it makes the game so annoying to play.
    I tried to come back later on, but once you stop you just fall so far behind that it's hard to get back into the game. Rolled for cards, couldn't get what I needed and just quitted right there.

    I had played Zero since the very beginning, and I was so excited to get to play Vanguard on the go when I didn't have a place to play a lot of the time
    Buuuut that didn't stick for long. I did have a lot of fun at first in the early sets, but starting around limit break era I started to notice a pattern. I was losing. ...okay shut up ik how it sounds, but more specifically I noticed an ACTUAL pattern. As a f2p player I spent whatever time I could in the game, getting gems, crafting materials, and the big one, playing ranked. But as time went on, I saw that I was just, losing more and more, because I didn't have enough resources to make my decks up to snuff to my opponent's. But in order to get the resources necessary to upgrade my deck, I had to win ranked. Do you see my issue? I still scraped my wins every now and then but eventually I felt actively discouraged from playing ranked since I knew I would either never rank up or it would be such a grind that it wouldn't be worth it once the next set came out. I got tired of the grind and took a long break from the game, eventually coming back mid G-era for Nightrose, and same thing happened. I had fun for a bit, but then the grind caught up to me. My pull rates were ABYSMAL. I could never pull triple's even the first time around, let alone GR's. The extra global improvements helped keep me invested, but not for long.
    Tl;dr: I had a skill issue and grinding was too much

    Long time VG zero fan been playing this game since day one of the covid pendmic, it was the only thing that kept me going like no local, no one to talk with just sat at home with overpriced cardboard, I would had given up on vanguard as a whole if it wasn't for zero. I 've Played it every day since it game out I was there when the game was at it worst with the VP farming where you couldn't ran into players for 3 or 4 games.. I remember when single card rental was a thing where you could climb ladders with a somewhat decent deck..while earning the rest with the gem you got from rank.
    People used to look forward to rank cards it was there way of trying out new deck with the boss G3 now we like what the point if we can't get the GR the card useless as a hearcard.
    I still remember when in Japan I saw a video of a world zero champion player. And he was free to play.he got to where he were just from playing and enjoying himself..
    I am down to my last 500 packs if I used the free to play gem..but it just sad that when those gem ran out I am out the game too.

    This may just be something only I care about, but I find it annoying that this game’s been out for this long and we still haven’t gotten the voices in any player’s native language. Also, I feel like the reason why they’re charging so much in Zero is because (maybe) D Series isn’t doing as well as they hoped it would. Sure it may bring in some new players, but a lot of older players may be like me and just can’t invest in it as much. To me it feels devoid of individuality, like you have to play the exact same deck as anyone else to actually get any sort of wins while in Pre-D you could make decks in a way that was to your own play style and budget and still get a decent amount of wins from. Zero shows this with the sheer number of different variations on the same deck shown in the Deck Forums, sure it may not attract as many new players but it kept the veterans who would be more willing to pay the prices invested in the game. If they had treated D like how Yugioh treated Rush Duels (as a similar yet separate game style), then maybe the older players would’ve stayed with the TCG and (maybe) Zero wouldn’t have taken this hit as well!

    Zero was my only way to play Vanguard and I've been on it almost daily since Global's launch. I've enjoyed it for the most part for a long time now but lately I've been burned out on it, the almost monthly grind and most inaccessible character skins have taken their toll. Lately I've been playing ALOT of Dear Days and almost completely stopped playing Zero as a result. I'm glad global Zero rewards long time players (I got to make Vanquisher, Luard and few other full decks while being a free-to-play player) but honestly I'm just not as interested anymore.
    I really think that Dear Days scratches my Vanguard itch more than Zero does.

    Remember when you can play any clan or deck and still win the game? Yes 6th heals existed but still, you can win with any clan. Now? If you try something refreshing like break ride + something, legion + something, you just lose. Especially OTT, you just lose when you don't have multi attack or damage deny no deck out clan. You are expected to play a meta or meta counter deck every month to actually grind like 50 gems per rank up. Bruh that's not even 1 pack worth of gems. After Legend 30, you only get 30 gems? Like seriously? You saved 3 months for 4 GRs just to play it for 1 month and gone to trash like Blade Master Titan. The worse part is you can't even destroy your unused GR. Yeah we would have no complaint if all GR are super good, all G persona, all necessary 4 copies. But They're not!
    Most GR are unnecessary trash cards and just sitting there as 0 value, doesn't belong to the game.

    You know....your not wrong...on any point you've made. I'm a relatively new vanguard player (got into it last year), and I love the game, but even as a new player it's painfully obvious that there are an excessive amount of paywalls with not enough "relief" coming from the game itself. This is how I got into vanguard, then I got dear days and saw how the tcg was played. I can see why tcg players might not wanna play zero, but I can see how zero is a great beginning tool for players learning the general game, but after you get past that point, there's just a lot to be desired. It's still fun, but like you said, in most circumstances, you gotta either pay with time or pay with money first in order to have fun.....until the next set comes out that you want, then it's the vicious cycle all over again. To be clear: zero is fun and great for beginners, but for seasoned vets and some tcg players, there's not enough to keep you playing.

    It really does feel like every single aspect of Zero needs to be changed in order for even the slightest chance that new players might join. I've played since the old set 2 global days when vp farming existed, so I have had time to build up a collection and become invested in the game, but going back and trying to get my friends to join the game was an impossible task. The fact that new players get 80 of the PRE-G PACKS as their only bonus outside of a pre-G deck and a G deck is embarrassing to say the least when they could have done the minimum to at least change them to "special" packs. The fact that top 3000 IN GLOBAL is around only legend 5 pretty much shows that the game is on its last legs. This game feels abandoned by the developers and significant change will need to be done if this game will even live to see the next 6 months.
    The most important change that needs to be made is to make GR more accessible. The fact that every single viable deck at this point requires at minimum 8 GRs in order to be played is already atrocious but the fact that its impossible to gather even 2 copies of a single GR might take 2-3 months is ridiculous and instantly turns off the game for newcomers and veterans alike. It doesn't matter if the GR tickets are given out or locked behind a permanent quest, GIVE PEOPLE A WAY TO ACTUALLY EVEN START THE GAME. This is on top of the deck tokens that give out outdated decklists (THE NN ONE STILL HAVE JINGLE AND THURIA IN IT EVEN THO IT WAS NERFED) and the pre-G lists at this point shouldn't even exist, replace them with constantly updated new lists or at least staples, they can even keep the GRs at 2 but have people get 2 tokens to trade so they can get 4. WHY IN THE WORLD IS THE GR TICKET TRADES LIMITED AND ALSO DOESN'T INCLUDE EVERY GR IN THE GAME? WHY DO THEY LOCK GRs BEHIND CLAN SPECIFIC GR TICKETS? This is an issue that they can very easily fix and the alternative is even simpler than the path they are going down.

    • @lokify702
      @lokify702 Рік тому

      The GR dilemma needs to be addressed to even keep the state of the game flowing with player numbers basically dwindling every single month but a variety of other conditions would need to be met for the game to become enjoyable again. The daily rewards although better than before, still are underwhelming and either needs to increase the amount of packs that can be obtained out of it and eliminate the limit on packs of a certain type you can get or be changed to give out gems. RANKED NEEDS TO GIVE OUT GR TICKETS (probably 1 every 20 levels) OR HAVE GR CARD REWARDS to give players an intensive to grind. Story keys were poor in execution and clunky to work around for players who might not play a specific clan and still would need to grind keys to complete dailies, just add in a way to exchange 10 keys for 20 uni mats. MyRoom needs to serve more of a function if its going to even remain in the game. etc.

    tl;dr - Global player here. I was excited for G era, but it seemed to make the game worse instead. I hope Vanguard Zero can recover from this and bring back the magic that was there when the game was first launched.
    I'm a global player, but I believe I've burned out. This doesn't mean I'm unwilling to play the game, but where's my incentive? I don't feel like the game is the same game I started with and after a lengthy break, there's no way I'm on par with players that never took a break.
    Now, admittedly, it sounds like global is doing better. Usually, based on my experiences, the Japanese side of things is better, which is why one of my favorite mobile games shutdown its English servers but is still around in Japan, just not in other languages anymore as far as I know. However, even over on global, that doesn't mean I don't understand where the frustration is coming from. First, I'll explain the "burned out" feeling and why I don't think I've recovered. This stated, the video does a pretty good job of explaining most of it.
    I wanted one title in the game and I ended up so obsessed with getting it that I wasn't doing much else. To this day, I don't have the title and I stopped playing regularly shortly after dumping my ex. He did have a point when I was obsessed with getting Psyqualia, but G hasn't really brought me back. I looked forward to it for a long time and the game isn't what it was when I started playing it. I have to make more of an effort to get characters for my home screen, loads of additional effort to complete a deck, and skins aren't free anymore.
    By now, if the game was in a healthy state, I believe I'd be back to playing normally. I've noticed there are a lot of typos in the character stories for the G cast. And what happened to the character fights for the original cast? I looked there for a G mission and didn't see the character in question there. I'm sure maybe I've missed something about recent changes, but I haven't completely stopped playing. It just confuses me to only see 16 character fights when I switch over to the original cast for character fights. When I clicked on the G mission button to do the mission, I could still cardfight against that character, so maybe it was a bug that was recently fixed? Though, I can't be sure with anything in this game. I'm super out-of-touch with what's going on in it.
    I don't feel like I understand what game I'm playing anymore. It's like it just became a different card game and the paywalls are definitely still around on global too.
    Before G era, the game was still fun. When I returned for G era, it didn't pull me back in. It just made things worse so I believe the way G era has been handled is why I'm not back to playing regularly. Granted, as someone that's not playing regularly, do I know enough to give serious feedback? Well, I do see those typos and wonder if even global is struggling a bit. Maybe that's just the translation side of things though. Initially, again, I was excited when G era was introduced. As it progressed, that excitement died. In the process of wanting one title so badly, I have this interesting collection of other titles in Vanguard Zero and the other games I play that were more realistic for me to obtain. The most "impressive" is getting to King of Games in Duel Links since I never thought I'd be able to pull it off. To Duel Link's credit, it doesn't require me to win 15 games in a row to get anything.
    I have 9/10 in my achievements tab in Vanguard Zero to mark how close I came to getting the Indomitable title. I know I got too obsessed with getting Psyqualia and eventually I managed to stop wanting the title so badly, but not having it is really the only motivation I'd have for going back to playing the game actively and I'd likely still fail at getting it. I'm a bit rusty. And, although I used to believe I was pretty good at playing Vanguard, a winning streak of 15 was just obnoxious. Many players achieved it and maybe some players have still obtained it during G era, but all I know is I'm better at playing a different card game now.

    Is it even worth the time to play zero anymore? I've been thinking of coming back to the game just for nostalgia for Break ride and older eras, but the game has changed so much since I last played....which I believe was mid way thru 2021. I like the idea of getting 2 "super decks" for free even if they are pre G era. It's just I have no interest in ranked so I can see myself losing interest very quickly.
