I remember I was watching Charlie's video about it and kept seeing people defending that Twitch wouldn't allow the nudity to reach the front page. So I tested it as someone who has no twitch account, never used twitch or researched anything on it ever. I typed the address, scrolled down a bit without clicking anything cause I got no clue how the site works and in bout 15 to 20 seconds I was seeing 2 vtubers nude on the front page. Then of course those people moved the goal post saying "Oh they must have misrepresented their stream tags and will be banned". So much joy to try and have a conversation with people who constantly move the goal post.

When I saw Asmon defend Twitch I thought "just another bad take from this dude, whatever." This happens a lot and his subscribers (me included) are used to it, we just call him out and mock him endlessly, he just moves on and pretends that nothing happened. However, what got me this time is the way that the vast majority of his followers DIDN'T call him out. Was watching something talking about these changes around 8am Sat. morning, I decided to check out what was going on since I hadn't really been on Twitch in months (or really much as all these last few years because of the dumpster fire its become). First thing the home page of course had naked girls on it now, then to the browsing section, clicked on the top category (of course just chatting, not games anymore) and the automatic setting for Twitch is now "recommended" streams. The top two lines were all girls sitting around naked. I remind this was 8am State side and this wasn't the highest viewer streams it was what Twitch was recommending because when I changed it there was only 1 cam girl in the top two lines of streams and even then it was someone clothed mostly. I then checked out a few of the other controversial categories such as "art" to see what was going on, and of course most of the top there were all people drawing lewd things (mostly furries of course) other than two specific streams that were restreaming a "twerking competition" because that is somehow "art". After that I clicked on my "following tab", and once again directly under the few people I was following who were online the Twitch "recommended" streams the very first one was a girl sitting on her bed FULLY NAKED.
I'm no prude by any means, but Twitch started out as a "gaming" site, a place where people could go and get away from most other things just enjoying video games with other people who also enjoyed that. But it got taken over not only by a large corporation but by a group doing nothing but virtue signaling (many who were just gross and abused their power), it started going down hill fast, most so when we actively could see a certain group were given special privileges to constantly break TOS, and once that couldn't be ignored any longer they started making new categories every time that same group would push the line breaking TOS again. "Just chatting" was made for the girls who would put a game up in 5% of their screen while sitting around in very little. Then when they started to wear swim suits and underwear on stream they made "pools and hot tubs", but of course they needed to keep pushing the bounds by doing sexualized ASMR so they made that category for them, and now they have basically outright said its okay to turn Twitch into a softcore porn site so they can sell to desperate losers.
And yes, above the annoying aspect of it for those of us who just wanted a decent place to go for games and get away from such nonsense, there is the all too real part where Twitch was and is still promoted as a "gaming" site. That means that much of their audience is children, children who are being sold sexual content by these girls through subs and tipping and then being encouraged to go to their other "adult" sites (even though that is also against TOS), but its ignored. Because its still considered a "gaming" site this does make it even harder for the average parent to monitor, and yes having this content not only on the site very easy to access but also highly promoted by Twitch means they are actively pushing sexual content on minors.
I agree with Asmon and a lot of thing, I don't on this one. There are plenty of other sites women can go to for these things. They do it on Twitch because they have a higher audience discoverability and because they know very well they are getting money from all the teen boys and desperate gamers dudes, if they go to the other sites that are mostly girls doing the same they won't be special and they are using Twitch as a way to advertise their other content. Relying on desperate dudes to give you money for sexual content/services isn't "body autonomy" its going right back to the days where women were only seen as objects, it doesn't encourage women to achieve more or be independent it encourages them to rely on desperate losers to give them cash for their bodies.
I dont know about the rest of you guys but it was the funniest shit I have seen happen this year. What a way to end the year. At this point no reason to be angry or sad just laugh at the absurdity.
I just want a website that isn't contaminated with adult content and gambling... Twitch makes me sad because in it's early days it was exactly that, a bunch of nerds playing videogames, but today it's just a hodgepodge of crap and most of the big streamers barely even pay games, while the other half are thots.
