Its daunting and scary but just like with any other job it will come together im in my third week in OR training as a scrub nurse and i love it , give it a try you will love it❤
Add to this: holding a retractor while passing instruments, loading suture, etc. I was trained to open and close instruments without putting my fingers in the rings---the rings were for the surgeon. I could also load a sponge stick one-handed.
@@himanshukaushik8779 If you are working with a good, conscientious surgeon, hand-to--hand passing is very safe. When working with an @$$hole who grabs at an instrument as soon as it touches his hand, or tosses things back on the field or your Mayo stand, an intermediate location can reduce the threat of injury.
I was becoming so interested in this field but then realised I have a weak stomach, I don't think I will be able to just stand there hand instruments and watch 😂😅
Basic errors - never pass sharps hand to hand! Nurse should always gently slap the handle rings of the instrument into the supinated palm of the surgeon - not lift into the pronated hand as demonstrated. Surgeon with experience of 30 years here.
What is a hemostat to you guys? To me, working as a sterile tech, a hemostat is an Allis. The hemostat the ladies are using, looks to me like a mosquito. If so, it’s confusing to be calling a mosquito a hemostat. That means a rankin would also be called a hemostat.
I agree, I work in the OR, but I've never seen a Surgeon toss the instruments back to the mayo table unless if they are pissed off or something 😮, (just my experience)

I have studied that we should paas blades in kidney tray ???? But in that video they are passing that via hand

Once practiced, it is easier to manipulate instruments without putting your fingers into the rings.

If the doctor were to ask for 2 instruments at the same time, will they indicate which hand each instrument will go?
I think you'll make a mental note of how they'd be used so you'll know what hands they go in
