This album was amazing to me. I understand your point about the content but to me the content was the same because Danny was A) Bringing even closer and more viscerally into the addiction and B) what was to me the biggest selling point of the record. Danny for the first time bringing us into his world musically, not just lyrically.
I absolutely loved the content of the album, and I would have to disagree with your point on the album not going into deeper insight, for Danny gave such an exhilaratingly skeletal depiction of the less talked about aspects of excess in addiction and how its causes and effects might develop for the general case through insight into his own personal experiences.
I loved the album but I think what it was missing was some progression on the beats. I felt like when the beats starts thats all there is to the song and you can expect danny to just rap crazy on a crazy beat while on songs like When It Rain you really hear the verses build up to the chorus with those bells and horns go in and out and his voice get louder. I think thats the best thing Old did was have a lot of dynamics to its beats and it was kinda missing in this one
I don't call albums perfect often but I couldn't find any flaws in this album. As a longtime supporter this is exactly what I wanted to hear from Danny. His progression is crazy and the instrumentals are amazing. Lyrically I think these are some of his most well thought out lyrics to date.
Hey Mark, I'm looking to get into making a review channel. Do you have any suggestions on where to start for someone who has no clue what he's doing? :p Any help you can give is appreciated. Thanks! I want to make sure you're not one of the only country critics on UA-cam anymore ;)
Its a top 5 Hiphop album in the past decade, #2 experimental hip hop record in the past decade, and possibly my favorite album of all time. I've listened to it atleast 2-3 times a day every day since the day after it releaed
9/10 Best Tracks: "Pneumonia", "Ain't It Funny", "Really Doe" ft. Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt, "Tell Me What I Don't Know", "Today", "Lost", "Dance In The Water" Worst Track: "Downward Spiral" (this song is still great though)
I honestly don't know if its that my music tastes have expanded, but this is the first Experimental hip hop album I'va really liked. Danny killed it on this one
mixtape of the year, coloring book by chance the rapper gives it some competition. but pink guy is too multi-talented to not give him this title. 10/10
Ok, I feel like I should really listen to this album. Everyone is saying it's great, but that posse cut didn't really do it for me. But hey, if the album is this good, then I should like it.
Just Your Ordinary Toast you definitely should listen to the album. i also wasn't too impressed with Really Doe but the album is still aoty for me bc of tracks like Aint It Funny, Goldust, White Lines, Pneumonia, When It Rain, and Hell For It
Fantano is getting too big and condescending for his britches so I'm exploring other youtube reviewers. I like you dude. You're clearly smart, well spoken, and have great talking points, but I can always tell you're reading off of something the way your eyes move and it's all I can focus on. Other than that, keep it up.
dude its so obvious that you have cards you're reading off of to the side of the camera, and its obvious that you keep getting up to switch them because your video cuts every 5-10 seconds lol. try being more natural bro. its too obvious.
10/10 AOTY

"EAR-EL" like this is superman or some shit lol but nah waiting on those BANKS and Solange reviews
Golddust is one my favourite songs of 2016
There wasn't a better album this year.
I loved the album but I think what it was missing was some progression on the beats. The beats seemed more traditional in that regard which is ironic because in every other way the beats are the least traditional you'll find.
I went to Danny Browns concert last night... a lot of pill poppers at the show haha
Did you just pronounce Earl like- never mind
I was surprised by this album, the production is definitely some of the best of the year.
I don't call albums perfect often but I couldn't find any flaws in this album. As a longtime supporter this is exactly what I wanted to hear from Danny. His progression is crazy and the instrumentals are amazing. Lyrically I think these are some of his most well thought out lyrics to date.
i cant give this album a ten but its definitly a 9 in my opinion

One of the weirdest fucking albums I have ever heard; however, that's why it works (somehow?).
Its a top 5 Hiphop album in the past decade, #2 experimental hip hop record in the past decade, and possibly my favorite album of all time. I've listened to it atleast 2-3 times a day every day since the day after it releaed
Also bruh did you just say the best song on this album, golddust, is the worst?????
He kinda looks like the villain from sorry to bother you
9/10
Best Tracks: "Pneumonia", "Ain't It Funny", "Really Doe" ft. Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt, "Tell Me What I Don't Know", "Today", "Lost", "Dance In The Water"
Worst Track: "Downward Spiral" (this song is still great though)
Are you gonna review Epica's The Hologram Principle since you already reviewed there 2014 album?!
For me easily his best album
I honestly don't know if its that my music tastes have expanded, but this is the first Experimental hip hop album I'va really liked. Danny killed it on this one
Not gonna do Aaron Lewis new album? If not can you give me a summary of what you think?
Any plans on reviewing the new Emma Ruth Rundle Album?
Will you review the new Yellowcard album when it comes out?
This album - its tone and themes - reminded me of horrorcore music.
Are you going to review epica' the holographic principle ??:)
Great review. Amazing album.
I love your videos, great review!
That IS Q in Pnemonia.
Still waiting on that Banks review
I'm kind of divided on her album to be honest. I don't find the production as interesting as Goddess
Well aren't I early.
Also, review Pink Guy's mixtape when it comes out :3
mixtape of the year, coloring book by chance the rapper gives it some competition. but pink guy is too multi-talented to not give him this title. 10/10

yea, and just the way he talks is painful. doesn't sound realistic, way too new anchorish for me.
But he is right about ax ten outa ten and alot of ppls including mine
how is fantano getting too pretentious lol
just a prediction for the Anthony Fantano review, (if he does one) : 5/10
Is this a joke isn't it?
He gave it a 9.
He gave it a 9 brah!
well you took a big L on that one nigga
yup haha. it's just that he gave blank face lp a 5 and the healing component a 5 too
dude its so obvious that you have cards you're reading off of to the side of the camera, and its obvious that you keep getting up to switch them because your video cuts every 5-10 seconds lol. try being more natural bro. its too obvious.
One important question, will you please review Lyrical Lively - Uh Huh?
