Thanks for the help! I'm 18 years old and 170 cm tall and playing volleyball in the local team. Unfortunately I only play half of the games because I have to put a lot of effort in every jump I make so I'm really exhausted at the halftime. Greetings from germany :)
Technique would be AMAZING for you to become more efficient and waste less energy as you jump! Keep getting stronger and working technique. You'll get where you want to be if you want it bad enough!
Hi coach!! Can u make a content about vertical jump in badminton sport? Because I think badminton uses vertical jump a lot, and in badminton, the run-up for the jump is almost impossible to get. How to reach a high vertical jump when playing badminton??? I think u can analyze a badminton match and then explain it for us! THANK YPU, COACH!!!!!! (sorry for the bad english)
Sam, has the team responded to your email? We do get many emails daily, so we do our best to get back as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!
This is really handy. I don't play volleyball but I do martial arts. Specifically in Kendo we have a technique where we sort of launch ourselves forward with our technique. While these drills pertain to vertical jumping I think they'll be very beneficial in the long run! Love your Haikyuu reactions as well btw. Thanks for the good bits of training info as well! :)
Nice video Coach! Just out of curiosity, would you recommend swinging arms all the way up once you're in the jump (i.e arms above head for max height) or are you keeping them lower more for the sake of drilling the jump technique but not necessarily maximizing height?
Arms back is okay as long as it doesn’t jeopardize your ability to keep a more upright torso posture. Most people will lean forward to get the arms back from lack of mobility. The arm swing is more of an arm strike, so no matter the swing, the strike is the most important element.

One guy at my gym take really small steps but jump so high.
There are outliers everywhere, but that doesn’t mean we should copy their technique.
I have around a 32 inch vertical but my penultimate step is terrible.

What does punching the block foot mean? And how do you do it? I am new to jumping, and trying to improve my vertical. Any help would be appreciated.
It means just strike the block foot as fast and as hard as you can

Ey yo 2 comment 😁
I’ve been obsessed with jumping for about two years now and I know my time will get there. Soon enough posters will be given out left and right.
Make sure you send us an autographed one!
Great video Coach! Love to see the recent growth for your channel. From one Coach to another. Good luck 💪
