Absolutely agree with you. Packaging is more a problem than food itself. Of course we sometimes throw away food, but in our family, it does not happen that often. We can manage that quite well. But we can’t do much about the packaging that comes with the food, unless we had time to do our shopping every day. Our way of life does not allow us to do that.

wasting good food is one big issue at the Tokyo olympic stadium. sigh...
Me and my son produce two bags of rubbish per month. My neighbours bins are always overflowing whilst ours is virtually empty. If you only buy what you know you'll use, there isn't much to chuck out.
Burry scraps under future garden plants to put nutrients in soil and help your future crops grow.
Once that is complete we can tackle proof reading.
There should be a change in America where all the food from grocery stores gets donated to school for meal and compost to grow. They should mandate the hiring of foor workers to make kids food fresh.
What we NEED to worry about is the NON-DEGRADABLE PACKAGING of that food that contributes WAY MORE to pollution. Tax the manufacturers on the amount of packaging in ratio to the amount of biodegradable food it contains. The more plastic covering your food product, the higher your tax.
Wasting food causes me almost physical pain. What a sin.
Knowing that I share the planet and air with pathetic hand-wringers and SJWs like you irks me, but gives me energy!
In a word, compost !!!! Compost the waste, then use the compost to feed the soil and grow more food.
No problems at all, unless your peddling inorganic fertilizer and other such poison, that's driving our society to destruction !!!
I through away alot of food but I put it in My compost bin so it's not waisted and it don't bother Me.
the solution is to stop selling food.......... and having every one grow their own. People are gonna be alot less likely to waste it, when they are the ones who had to put in all the time and effort into growing it........... and of course, that would also cut out all the industrial middlemen who waste it as well.
The Elephant in my kitchen goes to Green Bin in my garden which I turn into compost & earthworm castings. My husband however thinks I am disgusting playing with food waste & earthworms. I think it's time to let him go and buy more wheelie bins 😂
food waste is mainly caused by restaurants, much much more than family cooking.
60% of the food waste comes from private households
Here in America, our food portion is twice the size than any other country and we end up throwing away half of that.
Saving leftovers but what if I have to eat plastic I don’t want to eat plastic
While some have so much others have so little. Earth is hard.
Oh do STFU you dismal hand-wringer!
Omg there is SO MUCH ENERGY in food. Burn it for power!!!!!
bio-digesters make gas and fertiliser.
Compost it, mate, compost it.
....and if the food is too bad to salvage...compost it
US and UK should learn to preserve food not waste it.
I don't leave any food on my plate
Grow a garden and recycle all your organic waste, recycle all others, teach your children the same. No need for bots or gov.
"The amount of good food we waste would fit into 23 million fully-loaded 40-tonne trucks.
And if these trucks were lined up bumper-to-bumper, then the queue would be long enough to circle the Earth seven times."
Terrible communication. This doesn't tell me anything about how much food this is. This just tells me how long 23 million trucks is. Good communication would be telling me how many mouths that could feed, or the average food consumption of a country.
And all over the world,
In AFrica, etc and others country suffering r dieing for hungry,
And so many food wasting.
Africa has plenty of country's that are just as successful as EU country's with shops, cars TV and all the rest of it. The starving in Africa trope is manufactured and they don't wouldnt need us if there own wealthy nations would help.
Stop hotels from offering 'all you can eat' buffets. Get a grip of cruise ship companies for doing the same thing.
If those trucks were full of compost, and you lined them up around the globe, they those lorries could tip it on nutrient deficient soils..
Maybe you meant well, but sometimes the answer is the question.
You've got to consider some food is cooked badly. Then again it's likely just people ordering more than they can actually eat.
Reduce package and serving sizes.
Quit producing so much produce
Time poor. Thank you for that term
Oh here we go, they're going to control on how much food we're allowed to buy.
Top Tip!!! The simple old fashioned dial on your fridge: the higher the number the lower the temperature!!!
Thats really true
How are you?
So your veg at the back gets frost bite an slightly manky lol.
More electricity used means more energy used means increased global warming means higher temperatures means increased waste of food for edible food will rot quicker
@@paulgibbons2320 put veg it at the front!
People are dying for hungry and this people wasting food
Some homeless or poor people completely lack the intelligence or thought to go get what they need and rather just beg because it's easier. I'd go and farage and hunt if I didn't have food, not beg,

Firstly we could build less supermarkets, after all i live in a small town and we have 2 supermarkets in 10 min walking distance and a new one being planned about 5 mins walk away
Supermarkets could start giving their food when it’s close to date to local food charities instead of throwing it away in the bin loads and family can stop filling up the trolling to overflowing when going shopping and shop more often just for what they need..
how about destroying fast food?
making people more food concious?
Maybe start with proofreading your question.
Please keep in touch with old age home s and orphanages to help the orphans for a one time meal please
Planning how much food to buy is important !!
Countries should ban cheap buffet.
I don’t buy produce and I don’t have food waste. And I don’t go poop them out either. And I don’t get hemrhoids or period cramps anymore
Close super market and commercial centers.
I honestly don't waste anything. I eat it, don't buy anything I don't want or need. Any surplus I give to the foxes or my cat
bbc, why invent food packaging, processing food and then packaging, and storing food with preservatives ?
Food waste happens because you one buy too much fresh food, then cooking too much per person, have no left overs.
Stop wasting food would help
This is not waste, as other animals eat it.
Time Will Tell
🍇🍎🍐🥨🍲🌯🍥🌯🥟🍝🍲🍤🌯🍟🍅🥔🥨🍅
Stop wasting. That's it.
How do you get the public to give up all their rights? Tell them they're destroying the planet.
What i do with my food waste
Is my choice its my hard earned wages so until you give me free money
You dont tell me FK all
You’re literally throwing your money out of the window smh 🤦♂️
First of all never waste food for good , secondly area wise volunteers should come up to collect food , thirdly the collected food must be cleanly sorted out and give to poor as per your area wise ,and one more important issue take a drive you will find hunger dogs without food, feed stray dogs on the roadside, However a country may be rich don't forget that millions who go to bed even without one time meal , so R the dogs and birds , my advice to fellow reader's of this article, please eat as much as you want but don't waste food ,we should also advise our children that nothing comes free , so take care to help the nature by God given food, NGO s must and volunteers must help in this regard, i have people seen during Covid Time people struggling for food take care
Waste is a by-product any production. Get used to it, or shame me, your choice.
Easy compost old food
How can how?!
I disliked this video because enough people are complaining about the problem. Y'all didn't even try to offer suggestions on how to fix it.
It isn't just people though is it, we have the likes of Amazon throwing away food that is still in date by many months.
