Why the Media NEEDED Joker to Fail
Вставка

- Media has a shaping effect on society as we know it… it is an undeniable truth... and as such… a film that skillfully highlights failure in that crafted structure means that in an inextricable way it is showing that the architects behind it… made mistakes. When confronted by the mirrored truth of one's own shortcomings… you can either accept them and improve… or try to break the mirror… and its clear what approach is being taken now.
Modern media is witnessing its own shortcomings in the mirror that Joker holds up, and because of this... they need there to be some sort of tragedy to justify their own hatred.

I agree with you all.
Lol..but that is currently how society works in the real world..not just in the movies...
Joker doesnt promote violence, it tells us why violence happens.
True
Exactly, actually, the message is a pretty kindergarten level, but in a very adult entertaining language, in few words, it's: "just be nice!"
And how it begets itself. Many of the people who abuse Arthur through the film, perhaps excluding Murray and the bankers, are characters whose own suffering, inflicted by another, is easy to imagine. The kids who beat him in the alley at the start didn't do so out of their imaginations; they likely had so much harm done to them and passed it onto Arthur believing that it was how the world works.
@@OwlMoovement yep it's the excuse of something bad happened to me so therefore i can be bad to others to make myself feel good
Yup.
He literally kills 6 people the entire film, that's like half a scene in John Wick.
Yeah, the media just doesn't like how realistic the deaths are. I think that's a good thing tho, it doesn't make it seem like a small thing to do, unlike other movies, where people get slaughtered as if humans where just statists (which they are in the movie, of course, but just in movies)
What about the people he killed indirectly? If so, then the protester on the train, and Thomas & Martha Wayne. God knows how many people died as a result of the protest tho.
@@doot_slayer he didn't personally kill them though, still wouldn't come close to the amount of people John Wick has killed.

The fact that this movie exists makes me feel better about having one.
Finally, somebody in popular media gets it.
Phoenix did a wonderful job with the tiny details of his character. The subtle shaking and shortness of breath. That kinda stuff made me tear up.
It absolutely did not make me want to murder anybody. It's art. I appreciated it like art.
If anything, I felt it made people empathize instead of treating those kinds of ailments like a monkey you can make dance.
You see so many people online gloat about their self-diagnosed Tourette's and DID and DPD or whatever the hell they can find on WebMD.
Nobody wants anybody to know that they're sick.
Displaying it like a ribbon on social media is a big red flag.
Those who do have it and make it the central point of their personality just end up hurting everybody in the long run, especially themselves.
It's so weird seing a channel or video be popular just because of someone else's pain. I dont think anybody watching those cares about the person as much as they want to clap when the showperson gets triggered.
YES
This is the best comment here. I hate seeing girls (and guys too but it's mostly girls I've noticed) self diagnosing themselves and then never shutting up about it. And then basing their whole personality around it, like some fancy show dog. It's so... idk infuriating? ingenuine?
But yeah totally agree
@@newchangeunlisted_viewer5594 Yeah. I had seen a video on my recommended prior to writing all that.
Apparently there's UA-cam channels that are just mentally ill people doing challenges? Waiting to get a Tic or an Episode, but for views.
And then theres music artists like Billie Eillish. Her music aside, she treats her Tourette's like any normal person would. She doesn't want people to remember her for it. I'm pretty sure she knows about this kinda stuff. She outright tells people that she feels uncomfortable about it and that she doesn't want to draw attention to it.
Do you know what her "fans" do?
They make compilations of it. They call it cute. They call her talented IN SPITE of it, when they shouldn't care about it at all.
Backstabbers. But I guess that's what's cool now. People really like how Split Personalities and Narcolepsy looks on them or the people they watch. When they know they would do absolutely nothing of value to actually support or donate to any of those causes.
People fear things like this, because it holds accountability to what they think of people who are different around them.
What if that 'freak' you ridiculed kills you? That's the only situation people like these worry about.
@@crispy7499 Yeah. "Crazy" people are always the easiest to discriminate because there are no repercussions. Largely in part because the consensus deems them as lesser and dangerous. As illogical and as naive. Weak enough to throw into wards or lock in hospitals where their condition will only worsen.
They dont understand that everybody has a little bit of that in themselves. That a few wrong turns will leave them on the other end of the spear they point at the ill.
A mentally ill person has no more desire to kill someone than a regular one.
As a meme enjoyer, I can tell you there are wholesome people out there, you just have to know where to find them

This is no laughing matter. I saw several kids in the theater when I went to see Joker. Ten or so year ago, even if an adult had consented, children under the age of their early teens were not allowed to see such R-rated films in theaters.
"By banning films like Joker, people won't commit mass shootings"

Imagine:

I feel like modern audiences would rather believe the binary distinction between "good normal people" and "out-of-this-world monsters" than acknowledge the fact that evil is inherently human and potentially in anyone that is subjected to a certain societal context

As a person whose family member also has mental disabilities I can relate.
The reason the media wanted this film to fail was to justify their shameless persecution and disregard for the mentally ill. Ironically proving this film right

Disregard for the lesser people of society, especially if they are a white male.
In the movie, most of the rude and callous treatment directed towards Arthur isn't because he's mentally ill. He's just some nobody, and they treat him like garbage. Like the millions of people out there that are nobodies or such, for whatever reason.
The media wanted so badly to make Joker the poster boy for the disenfranchised white males out there, often derogatorily called names by the media and 'better' people. They were hoping those outcasts and weirdos would act out like their "hero" Joker.
That's why they wanted the film to fail. Because it gives a voice to those disenfranchised, fringe members of society that happen to be white. Yeah, white guys can struggle with mental and life issues too. And their problems are just as legitimate as the pet class minority of the day the SJWs are touting.

MrGoblin1000 fair enough but when many of the critics dislike the movie due to it “glorifying gun violence” or dealing with mental health in a “triggering” way it’s not hard to see what ideology they support. There are many valid criticisms of the film, such as Arthur not being smart/cunning enough to be the joker we know and love.
