My Former Phobia and a Little Bit About Chemo Ports

I used to have a serious phobia, it only flares up every once in awhile now.
I should have requested another nurse when I'm talking about my last IV insertion. I did ask for vascular access team, but the nurse snipped at me. She really should have brought someone else in... I don't want to be babied, but I don't want the situation drawn out to the point of where I nearly pass out either. SO... You can ask for a different nurse if you go through something like this.
You may be nervous or scared about getting a port. Here's a little bit about it.

Awesome info! Jenny is now on her third port. :( Two misfires. Also sometimes is difficult in a regular hospital to find a nurse that will touch the port. Jenny is like "THAT IS WHAT IT'S THERE FOR!".

Right?! I thought they would be able to use the port for everything. It sure is helpful, but would be even better if we could use it for labs and other things as well.
