I politely object to you Mr preacher for the wrong interpretation. A bible based contextual interpretation must be like this:
The unforgivable sin, which is sinning against the Holy Spirit, occurs when someone rejects Jesus and dies in their sin. Since forgiveness is only available through Jesus, rejecting Him in this life means there is no chance of finding salvation in the next. Refusing the only Savior leaves a person without any way to be saved.
