Sparks Magazine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports a student-run publication and provides a mixed-media platform for the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) community. Sparks was established in 2011 at the University of Florida and has since expanded to chapters at the University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida. Each semester, Sparks Magazine gives members of the community an opportunity to tell stories about the APIA community and give a voice to the underrepresented. Sparks Magazine also provides the resources for members to take on leadership positions and foster skills in media-related industries.
